- Today I build a big ramp in my garage! I made it much more complex than initially planned, but it came out awesome. Let me know what you think!
If you're interested in the full blueprints to my house, I have them for sale here: www.kordare.co...

I have a serious case of garage envy at the moment.

@@Kordare Great looking ramp, would been nice to put a plexi glass section in where the window is?
Also get a better transition by putting a second layer of ply length ways!
@@Aljonone1 thanks and yeah I might do both those things in the future!
Use ur basement if you have one
That back wall looks like a blank canvas for a a mural/logo. Love the engineering and quality of this, great job man.
I agree and thanks a lot!
Or you could put some 3/4 inch plywood on the wall, make it a wall ride into the vertwall. I also think it would be a good place for a mural in the quarter pipe area by the loft. If that’s what you were mentioning.
looks sick. Love how you built the loft and ramp before even adding walls around your toilet!
Priorities 🙃
Hey man, everyone shits!
@@XxTomcastxX but not everyone has a loft....this is true...."Honey I'm heading to Home Depot!"
@@Kordare Looks awesome!! I wish I could build something like that! even if i did build that i wouldnt know how to ride it, so pointless for me!! LOL
@@_emma_123 thanks a lot🙌
120 hours of work put into a video 32 mins. That's why the video feels so high quality. Keep it up. You are definitely inspiring me!
Thanks for appreciating the effort!! Hardest part is the 20 more hours of editing on top of that 😂
@@Kordare fair play
@@Kordare yep! Editing takes longer than filming for me.
That’s rad how you can still watch your buds shred even while you’re taking a dump.
32 minute video? You think I got time to watch all that? You're dang right I do!
Hahahha I promise it's worth it🤘
Who else was hoping he would make the loft gap a roll in
Would be awesome

Bro that ain’t no garage that’s like a whole house
I think it’s called a mortan building
@@XGaming1 mine is not from Morton
Kordare what brand is yours from?

Kordare oh cool
Congratulations! Your living the best life ever! It’s great seeing someone your age with their life together and doing the things you are doing.
Thank you!
Dude I'm so glad this got recommended to me! I'm happy I found this channel because you like the two things I love.... Bikes and cars. Amazing craftsmanship and riding as well dude, keep it up. Subscribed
Yesss thats awesome and thanks a lot! Much more to come 🤘
barn doors to seal off the main vert would be sweet
Definitely
Kerfing the plywood where your bends are would help with getting them to lie where you needed them to in full sheets as well as the fillers.
Yeah I might try to do that next time but this really wasn't too bad
put a smaller half pipe down to the right so you can hop into that and launch up to the higher side with some speed!!!
awesome build mate
Thanks I actually did already build a small kicker for that purpose!
The garage is so sick now!
getting there!
Was really happy to see that you replaced those screws with something that could handle more shear force.
this is a man of many talents
12:25 saw the tolet starting to get mapped out too. This is an unbelievably nice garage! The whole house is coming together so nicely.
Thanks a lot! One step at a time
build some storage racks/carts on wheels/casters to roll under the vertical area
Who else is sitting/laying down wishing that they had the money and time to build something like this
Garage goals. With your bmx history and where you live, i could see mountain biking as a good hobby
I have a mountain bike just dont get to ride it enough! Too many hobbies not enough time....
That guy has a huge garage, almost like a house like someone in the comments said!
Love the new design. Alot of people don't realize how good 'BMX' style tricks are for cardio strength, I don't have a ramp in my garage (yet), but I do have a skate park just down the street, so I think I'm there more than I'm home.
Thanks and you got that right! I've been trying to ride this every day since I finished.
if you havnt done so all ready lay the top layer of plywood angled, it creates a smoother surface as you are not directly hitting the joints between the plywood sheets.
Maybe I'll try that
His intro is a huge flex
Just wanna show what I'm about 🤘
It looks super fun to ride
I'm starting to enjoy it much more now that I'm getting used to it
Awesome build, it turned out great! I'm glad you did your research and replaced the screws with the the correct fasteners specified by the manufacturer. On a side note, I would of recommend using a glue adhesive on the joists instead of just screws because as time goes by and the lumber reacts to temperature/moisture you might experience squeaking.
The joints on the plywood sheating should have been staggered (sorta like laying a hardwood floor) which will add additional strength to the diaphragm. There are quite a few other things that jumped out at me but overall I'm impressed with your accomplishment and you've gained another sub.
Thanks for the tips! Yeah clearly I'm no carpenter, I do have the advantage of it being tied to two walls so the whole thing has basically zero chance to skew, but next time I'll stagger my subfloor.
you're a very talented young man.
Just trying to keep learning every day! Thanks!
Very insightful on the tension/shear screws! Also, I like the toilet just being there, it's like you have a GIANT restroom.
😂😂 thanks for watching!
@@Kordare Sorry if I sounded derogatory, this video is the first video of yours I watched (today!), and your garage/house is indeed awesome.
that is bonkers. very cool
Every time I watch any of your videos I want to go build something. Fantastic stuff, thank you for the inspiration. I'm glad it your loft and ramp turned out the way you wanted it.
I'm glad, it's always rewarding building something yourself, even if it doesn't turn out perfect.
@@Kordare
I agree. I'm going to build a dog house this weekend. Wish me luck! haha
Nice work! 2 things, add lights under the ramp in the storage area, and add hook(s) under the ramp by the house door to hang your bike(s).
Thanks and yes I agree with both!
a wall ride into an another halfpipe from the vert would be sick
Yesss
Fun watching you build it. Here are my thoughts:
-Should have a metal coping on the quarter pipe for peg stalls.
-should definitely do a 2nd layer of ply.
I’ve built a lot of ramps. Currently I have a mini ramp in my basement. I use 2 layers of 3/8” ply then a layer of nice 1/4” for the top sheet.
Nice work though!
Oh and I laughed when you mentioned storage with the original half pipe idea...half pipes are great for building storage under them.
Yeah I think I'm just going to add some flat sheet of metal or plastic right at the edge for peg tricks
And maybe a piece of angle on the loft edge. And yeah definitely will add another layer of plywood! Thanks for the input 🙌
You should make a little ramp on the lip at the bottom so it’s easier to get speed when rolling in from the bottom
I think I'm gonna do something like that
Kordare sweet!
Throw some masonite on that boy make it butter smooth
Yess!
Bro that came out MINT, that back wall would look sick with a Kordare livery .🤘🤘
I agree! Thanks man 🙌
I found your channel, Searching for inspiration on building a workshop... after watching that video and seeing your works space, and living space, i had major envy. But I knew what my dream was... now after seeing this... I have to build this, my kids would love a ramp setup like this, they could jam while im working on my cars. Best of all worlds. Time to save up.... Maybe ill be able to build it by the time I retire haha. Epic job. Epic video!
Haha thanks for checking it out!
@@Kordare thanks man whats next for the workshop?
That deep low area... see if you can find some old chair carts on offer-up, marketplace, or CraigsList: they're long, low, and already have casters, so you could very easily put a face on them (so they look like panels or doors all the way across the outside). Downside is with something like you would need a lot of space toward the main roll-up door to pull them straight out, but lots of upside. They would completely close the view to that area off, and would be huge rolling shelves... could completely fill all the way across the entire void (rather than just around the outside)... and you could stack sets of tires &/or rims, or parts for specific vehicles on each cart... then you could go grab one cart to have everything for the car you're working on... all on wheels to take straight over and slide back away for a clean shop when you're moving to the next project.
.
For the steps up to the loft... maybe look into something like a "ship ladder" (it's twice as steep, with alternating right- and left-footed stairs). It does take a little time to get used to using it, but the distance out it takes up will be halved, so you'll block less pipe access.
.
Lastly... and Just a thot... take it or leave it: I know you'd planned to double the plywood, and I figured you'd alternate the seams on it for strength, but was thinking... if you want that really smooth finish (like skate board or roller blade smooth) there is is a hardboard panel we call masonite down here in Florida... it's very flexible and with the right glue, you could make that super smooth... panels all butted together tightly with wood filler in the knot-holes and gaps (maybe even Bondo rather than wood putty) and painted would do wonders. (I know most people put the hard shiny side of the Masonite facing up on something like that, but it is already pretty slippery.... if you're going to paint it anyway, the rough side up might work with a few coats of paint on it. (Could paint up some scraps before you install it if you ever want to go that way.) Bear in mind... I only roller blade, so I really don't know how that would work for a board). Just came to mind, not sure how many friends you have that like to board or blade rather than only bike.
.
Really good content tho... fun videos to watch. :)
looks super fun!

“6 inches isn’t a lot to ride” - Kordare 2020
🤣🤣🤣
We found that 6” is pretty pointless. 😆
Lmao
Looks badass! Paint it lime green!
Thanks! I'll have to think about that....
You should wall off the inside of the larger quarter pipe and make a coat closet so you dont have to bring winter clothes in the house.
I was thinking of something like this, appreciate the input 🙌
@@Kordare no problem I like the whole shouse build and the turbo 3v.
Locker storage under the quarter would be sick
That would be cool
bro you covered the window, such a sick build overall though. Any future plans on building another half pipe perpendicular??? next thing you know you'll be charging people to ride lol
I heard your comment and died laughing, "thanks in advance for letting me know I covered the window" I'm just messing above
Hahahah I might add to it someday but wanna keep plenty of room for cars and other projects right now. Maybe add some ramps outside?
Dang that is awesome. I want to try it! Just a fun idea you could kick around would be a clear plexiglass panel where the window is totally unnecessary but it would be a cool factor thing.
Yes I was thinking the same thing!
That's a crazy transition on the roller/lander side of your ramp haha.
Haha yeah it was difficult to learn but now that I have it works well
Build big shelves on casters so you can pull the entire shelf out from under the cave. It will save your back with really heavy stuff.
I just built some permanent shelves on the back wall but if I add more in front I might put them on wheels
Light grey would look good
agreed!
soaking the plywood maybe helped with bending for the curve landing... Ramp came out cool.
I've seen guys use 2 layers of 1/4 inch ply. Lot easier to bend, and staggering the two layers adds a bunch of strength.
I considered that, but this really wasn't too difficult all said and done.
thanks, now i want a garage like this! look awesome man! already anxious for the next update
Thanks a lot! looking forward to finishing up all the details
A little tip if you put water on the plywood it Bends easier and has less cracking
Thanks, I thought about it but didn't end up doing it, might try that next time.
Great job man. Looks amazing and really solid. I think it would look pretty good if you painted the sides black and the ramp surface a cement gray.
Thanks and yes that's right along the lines of what I was thinking!
It looks so fun !!
It is🤘
I think I would've built it all the way to the wall so I could do pocket wall rides... Idk just me. Still very jealous, super sick.
He could still do that by making an angled sub wall. At least, that's my idea. But I know diddly about BMX or ramp construction.
Are you an engineer of some kind? Really digging the garage 🤘
Yes I'm a full time mechanical engineer, thanks 🙌🙌
@@Kordare that makes me feel a little better. I was feeling so dumb... this would take me 2 years! Awesome build
@@mikemarchetta3145 haha I just have experience solving problems, thanks man!
Definitely not a structural engineer or a carpenter.
@@Kordare What computer program are you using for design?
If it's not too expensive. I'd like to pick it up for my home projects.
you need a larger flat surface area in the halfpipe to make it flow better instead of whiplash
Traditionally yes I'd agree with you but this ain't no traditional ramp. Hahah
Now THIS is called a CONTENT CREATOR.
You can set your circular saw to cut a certain depth and back cut the plywood to bend easier
Yeah I've heard that, was just worried about it completely snapping if I did that
@@Kordare back cutting it will actually give it more strength when bending, otherwise you'll bare putting lots of pressure on boards by boeing them. Either way it's dope good job man!
@@tim8172 thanks man! I might try that next time.
Wow. Very impressed with this garage. Not even disappointed it’s not a vid on the mustang lol
Haha thanks a lot. Mustang will be making a return very soon!
Just catching up on your vids.... I don't think my wife would go for a 1/2 pipe in the RV garage, nor will my body allow it now. Used to ride ramps on roller blades in my late teens, that hurt too.
Next video: *I removed 10ft of my roof trusses and replaced them with vaulted trusses so I can get 16ft of air* 😂🤘
Hahaha yess I think that's a good idea🙌🙌
now all you need to do is make that gradual decline past the flyout removable and slide in a foam pit under it in that open space 😂 that would be a sick upgrade
Hahah yesss that would be awesome
Maybe you can put on metallbars on the edges so you can rail!
That would be sweet
Anything worth doing is worth overdoing. Hell of a job
Appreciate it 🤘
Just found this channel, been watching for 5 hrs. How the eff is this channel not huge?!?
Hahah wow thanks for checking it out! I've just gotta keep working and I'll get there 🙌
You remind me of one of my friends that’s a wheat farmer (also an engineer) from colfax Washington. Built his own boat, Cnc machine, lots of other crap. Tools and smarts- great RUclips content!
Congrats on the build man! Thanks for the outtake!
Thanks! haha
U should do plexi glass in front of the window so u still use the light
Yeah I might do that
This turned out awesome! So much room for activities!
Thanks!!
You should allow you and your boys to graffiti the whole ramp until its covered (over time) i think that would be dope.
I have every tool you used except the jig saw now it is just a matter of desinging my ramps for my skateboard, scooter and bmx bike and getting materials
Awesome good luck!
thats a warehouse not a garage! love the ramp. wish they had that at a skatepark.
Thanks it's really fun!

In the future you may want to spray foam the bottom underside of that ramp cut down on the noise if you had somebody else inside the house is probably pretty loud
Amazing!! Definitely something a bit different and better than a straight mini ramp!
I agree, thanks!
Dude I love your garage!! That place is awesome!
Thanks a lot!
Love your garage home. Maybe a rollable ladder stairs might be a good option to get to your upper storage area . $600-700 on Amazon . Or just build your own since you got all the tools
Thanks! Yeah I'll probably just build a simple staircase
this was well worth the wait! when can I bring my GT Dyno by and shred it? love this channel so much
Dang GT! Haven't heard that name in a while, I remember always wanting a GT when I was little. Thanks man 🤙
Re do the vert wall, take out some of the flat and extend the radius, still pretty sick! One day for me, hopefully soon!
I actually am really starting to like the vert wall now that I'm used to riding it.
Kordare good! Glad to hear that!
Given the limited space you have for stairs, have you considered alternating-tread stairs? They can be worked into an area that's steeper and a bit more narrow than the usual geometry for stairs. They can also be found by searching for "lapeyre stairs".
By the way . . . . NICE garage!! And you should get someone to tag that back wall. It's screamin' for some graffiti. :)
Appreciate the suggestion and thanks a lot 🙌🙌
Masonite! Smooth up all the curves! Compared to the noticable flat to flat boards which leave it without a really flush curve!
I might do that someday but for now it rides super smooth on a bike. Definitely would need it for skateboarding

hmmm that would be cool
You should make a full skatepark, your garage is huge
Need room for cars still, I have too many hobbies..
the universe has aligned, ive got a fat meal to eat and quality entertainment, lets go!
Friend of mine used to make ramps for a living and he would always put a thinner smoother ply on top of the thicker stuff and stagger all the joints to tie it in properly. Might not be worth the cost for a home ramp but you may want to look into it. Doesn't burn you up as much when you crash as well 😂
Edit: you already said this at end. 😂 my bad.
hahah yeah I'll definitely add some thinner on top.
Nice
If that’s just the garage I’d love to see the house! My entire 3 bedroom house would fit in that garage twice.
Haha the house is half the size of the garage
Awesome video dude 😁 love watching ramp building videos a great use of space 👍
Thanks for checking it out 🙌
Should have built a small rollin from the loft. Also some coping on the opposite side of the rollin on the loft. And then a small quarter pipe on the far side of the loft. And then you could put a quarter pipe on the wall where the windows at so you would have had a transfer gap. All of these things can still be added
Think a rolled knuckle on top of the 6 foot so if you case you don’t plow into the other transition
Should make your garage a skatepark that be sick
Once I have another garage for the cars!
This garage just keeps getting better lol
Getting there 🙌
Product called wacky wood is made for curved roof decking and can be doubled up for strength
Might try that next time!
Yeah you should definitely go all the way up with the vert wall.
Yeah I'll probably add to it
