I have been playing golf for about 20 years but I stopped 11 years ago because I gave up. Happened across this video and I feel that everything I have been searching for too understand the golf swing was explained by Clay in less than 10 minutes. I really recommend that everyone who is serious about improving your golf to subscribe to the Topspeedgolf site. I've learned so much this week practising the drills and the ball strike has improved after 3 sessions in the range. The vids provided in RUclips are good but the details provided in the lessons are so much better and the drills will definitely help to improve your game. I've been so inspired by what I've learned that I've just started taking my 10 year old son to the range and coaching him based on what I study in the videos. The results are amazing. His second time at the range and he can do a full rotation swing and hit the ball off the ground consistently. Granted he has no strength in his shots yet and the ball flies all over the place, but I remember that I used miss, top, ground the ball so many times when I first started learning. From the 60 odd balls he's hit, I think he's only missed twice, topped once and grounded once. I really wish I was in the US so I can visit clay and get instruction from him. But given that I'm half way around the world, the videos will have to do for now. Thanks Clay for posting this video and I look forward to learning more from your site. P.s. I apologise for the length of this comment but I'm so excited about the game now that I can't really help it...
Hi Chris, thanks so much for the kind words. I'll be sure to pass it along to Clay. Glad to hear you have found the instruction helpful for you and your son. Clay doesn't do any in-person lessons but if you'd like to come down for some private instruction then Robin may be able to work with you. Here is the link for more information: topspeedgolf.com/in-person-lessons-with-robin-rosado/. Play well! Quentin | TSG Instructor
Clay, I really appreciate your video's. My golf game is steady getting better, still a work in progress, but I can see improvement. Thank you for taking the time to make these video's.
Winner of a video, I been tryin to find out about "best super game improvement irons 2018" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Reyuhaffad Underlying Recognition - (do a google search ) ? It is a good one of a kind product for discovering how to revealing an effortless golf swing technique without the hard work. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my partner got excellent results with it.
One of the challenges I have found in some senior golfers especially is that they are told or have been in the past to compress and lower their body slightly for that lag but then to extend on the way through and up which tends to result then in that lifting of the head and upper body- partly psychologically as the driver is a longer club also. As you say that tends to confuse the average golfer between extension after impact as opposed at impact. One drill or tool I found useful also is to use an arm band to control the v of the two arms from breaking down too early - helps with the right arm issue you covered - and learning to narrow the swing while still opening up the hips.
Great lesson. Thanks Clay. I have got great help with your release point lesson with my iron swing, which gives kinda confusion with my driver. As you see, unlike iron shots, the ball is on the tee in driver swing, which leads to upper blow unlike iron shots’ down blow. In conclusion, it’s hard for me to apply the concept of release point lesson to my driver swing. Please help me out on this point.
Hi, it's the same swing. You just miss the ground and hit the ball that will be further up in your stance with the driver. Best of luck! Quentin | TSG Instructor
Hi Clay, I wanna ask the consequence of downswing. Until now, I do weight shift then turn hip, and then turn shoulder a bit to drop club near impact zone and finally I jump and turn two legs to pull club high up. Is it right movement? Or I should turn hip then turn shoulder without jump the 2 legs at impact?
I wouldn't try to jump. You see some players getting airborne but that is just because they are turning their hips hard. They aren't trying to jump. Lead with the hips.
My pleasure! Clay himself doesn't offer swing anaysis but we do have instructors on the site that do such as myself. Become a member of the site and you can sign up. Play well! Quentin | TSG Instructor
Just wonderful, been searching for "how far should you hit a 3 iron?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Reyuhaffad Underlying Recognition - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is a good exclusive product for discovering how to revealing an effortless golf swing technique minus the normal expense. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my colleague got excellent success with it.
does everyone hit from the exact same spot on the tee box? or have you been standing there for weeks? the grass is dead under your feet and where the ball is teed up .lol
@@TopSpeedGolf i am a site subscriber. I am playing a lot better than last year. I won my flight in the city tournament this year by 9 strokes. even chipped in on the hardest par3. I went from hitting my 7 iron(i use forged blades) 145 to 175. and all clubs have made that shift in distance.
HI Bill, Clay isn't taking on any students at this time for swing reviews but we do have other instructors such as myself that provide the service. You have to become an All Access Member of the site to sign up. Play well! Quentin | TSG Instructor
Hi Brian, I don't think any of the instructors who are considered the best have won major championships. It would be cool to get a lesson from Hogan for sure. Play well! Quentin | TSG Instructor

I like that! Good drill.
This helped improve my low skinny cut draw punch 3 wood stingers

With your impact are you hitting down with the driver?
He's hitting up, slightly, as you should. See 6:39 AoA = angle of attack = 1.2°, positive.
No, still hitting up but delofting the face. This will give you low spin and a high launch that improves distance. Play well! Quentin | TSG Instructor

Bout to bomb drives at crescent tomorrow.
Bombs away!
@@TopSpeedGolf how much is a private lesson from you?
Most of the time the hips stall and early extend because the shaft is steep, trying to force an open position at impact isnt going to help that.

Clay, I don"t have a private credit card but I'd like to subscribe to a 1-year-pass. Is there any chance for a paypal settlement or sth similar?
Clay is a nice guy but did he win anything like the Open or the Masters. Hogan once taught Golf. Imagine getting a lesson from Hogan.
Some of the worst advice ever given was by major winners.
