I almost never comment on youtube, but i feel i have to give you a personal thanks, you completley changed my game, shot under 100 first time ever a week ago from watching your vids, from driving to irons, you the man clay.
Wow, where has this video been all my life! Went to the range today, and hit about 100 drives. Literally 75% of them were long, and dead straight with a few having a baby draw to them. That is crazy! The ones I did miss (towards the end I was getting tired) missed a bit right, or left, but no hard hook, or slice. Just taking this advice completely changed my drive. I'm still in shock to be honest. I know golf is a crazy game, and I just have to keep practicing at it. This has me going in the right direction though. Thank you my friend!
This is probably the best driver instructional video for me. Every player has their own reference points during the swing sequence. This addresses my faults. Thank You
Couldn't have been better timing for this video. I was out playing yesterday. I was just pulling the hell out of all my drives. Started leaning way forward to at least straighten it out, but definitely lost a good 20 yards...
@ClayBallard I did the grip change, right foot back about 4 inches, and slight drop in my right shoulder for my golf league yesterday and all my drives (except 1) were straight as could be, and between 265-290 yards long, i typically drive my Titleist D1 about 230-245, so this is a huge improvement and i have you to thank for this. I did struggle with getting my lag correct and getting that 45 degree after the strike, or at least i felt i had an issue with it because i wasn't focusing on it like i was the other things. I'm guessing that this will come in time. but anyway, i parred the first 4 holes then had birdie-par putts on all the rest, so it was my putting that killed me yesterday! and that's usually not an issue. I'll continue to watch everything you have and take notes :) thanks for everything. ~Justin
You nailed this one. Driver Driver Driver issues.....all you said I miserably own.....lol. Bookmarked this one and will try very soon.! Ty for being insightful to us newbies.
Hi Matt, thanks for the comment. We do our best to say "lead" and "trail" instead of right and left to make it more lefty viewer friendly. We aren't perfect but we try :-). Thanks for watching. Hope you're playing great! Quentin | TSG Instructor
This is me to a fault! Thanks, Clay Tried too hard to square up the club face. Can't stay behind the ball. Low shots. Very frustrating. Focused on leading with lower body, weight shift, hip turn, everything BUT the left shoulder. Definitely something to work on.
Have 3 rods on my spine to hold it straight. All my shots do come off low and mostly straight through. Even before back problems my ball flight was low and would roll out 30 to 40 yards though the green into the crap. I guess this must be my problem. Appreciate the video.
I Have a question... I saw a long driver using a putter grip on a long iron to practice...the idea is to hit straighter the flat part of the grip should match up to the chest at contact to have a square club face. Do we have to use a round grip on a club or is a different shape allowable? The grip may be the hardest thing to reproduce correct time and time again on a round grip. Imagine if a tennis racket had a round grip ...there wound be no reference to where the racket face is when changing grips back and forth. Why make the game harder causing many to quit . Do you thing someone will invent a grip that can be used that is very easy to align the hands correctly so we know where the club face is even with my eyes closed like i can with a tennis racket.
2:08 So you're pointing out the driver downswing would be the opposite of an iron downswing shifting to the left? Instead the driver downswing and finish has to stay more behind the ball.
Don't overthink it. These are just like meds. An aid, not a cure. Implement some items and see what works with you. Driving range is your friend! Swing slow, then build up once you see what works
But what is your weight distribution if the shoulders, head, body are all in back of the "wall" during the entire swing?? In the vid, it looks like most of your weight is on your back foot!
Clay is one of the most “fluent “ golf instructor on RUclips. He makes understanding the mechanics simple and easily doable... thanks Clay
Thanks!
I agree 100%!!!

Hi, thank you so much for sharing. Glad to hear the instruction has helped. Keep up the hard work and good shooting! Quentin | TSG Instructor
This was revolutionary for my swing. The mental notes of "tilt, sit, and push up" helped me a ton.
Glad it helped!

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Glad to hear the video helped. Sounds like you're on the right track. Keep up the hard work! Quentin | TSG Instructor
This video added 20-30 yards to my drives! Cracked one 290. I've never come close to that before.
Clay, you make great videos and your explanations are fantastic. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Jason! I appreciate that!
This is probably the best driver instructional video for me.

Clay, I love all your videos but this has to be one of, if not, the best! Thank you for all you share to help!
Wow....thanks Al!

Awesome! Thanks for the feedback. Best of luck! Quentin | TSG Instructor
Great video!, I’m a lefty and I like the way you give a lot of detail on the drills it makes it easier for me to mirror what you’re doing.

I corrected my mistakes specially slicing, by watching your tricks thanks for your videos 👍
My pleasure!
This is me to a fault! Thanks, Clay

Better than one month lessons.
Thanks Clay.
Thanks Rob!
This video helped me very much! Thank you so much!!
You sir, have another sub 😀. Much respect and thanks from europe!!
Thanks Heinz!
Great explanation Clay. I did all these drills a year ago to stop my slice. Can over draw it now and again tho. 🏌️👍
your videos are so helpful. i can get up and down out of bunkers so much easier now just from your bunker video! acceleration and 2 balls behind!
clay you are an amazing simple teacher, you have brought me incredible value. thank you.
Very clear explanation and video. I think this will help me - anxious to get on the course and try. Thanks!
Its like you've seen my swing! Thanks! Headed to the range right now!!!!
This video really helped me correct my slice! Thank you so much!
These arm visuals are amazing! It’s also something I can do at home inside without a club.
Thanks John!
Thanks you so much,I fix my swing after watching it and It’s really helpful
You are very welcome!
Clay, thank you for your video, very helpful
My pleasure Peng!
Another great vid... love em
Thanks Mark!
Great video; will try it out on the range this weekend
Great lesson you described my issues. Thanks man
Great video...I used my wall on the first drill, so if I was sliding forward I'd hit the wall. Thanks!!!
Great lesson. Thanks Clay
So glad I found your video
Clay knows golf.
Thanks!
Great video Clay. What are your thoughts on the tour striker educator and the sklz swing trainer.
A lot of good little moves in this video, lot of people talking about the squat

Very useful and simple drill.
Thanks. Need only lot of practice ;)
Interesting, many years ago, a Chi Chi drill was to swing as though your lead shoulder was up against a door frame
Hi George, thanks for sharing. Hope you're playing great! Quentin | TSG Instructor
Clay,
One day you'll become the best golf coach in the World. It's not my prophecy, it's your DESTINY !!
What do you mean one day? he's achieved that years ago :D
@@Reavix1 That makes me happier.
I have been working on that drop down move during the downswing. It is very difficult.
Is that an I15 ?? I have the same driver shaft combo if so just switched it out for an M3 this year but I kind of miss it lol, do you still use it?
This guy is cool
If ball position is 90* off of left heal what degree should path be at impact?
2:08 So you're pointing out the driver downswing would be the opposite of an iron downswing shifting to the left? Instead the driver downswing and finish has to stay more behind the ball.

Best videos out there, great information, thank you.
Thanks!
Is this only for a driver?
Much of it can be applied to irons too!
I'd like to know where to get your shirts and hats.
When I drive it goes straight but when it comes down it cuts to the right really sharp any ideas?
But what is your weight distribution if the shoulders, head, body are all in back of the "wall" during the entire swing?? In the vid, it looks like most of your weight is on your back foot!
My problem is sometimes my weight stays back on my back foot
This takes so long to master. Especially wrists and the squat move.
I can't stop unless my feet are facing the same way I slice...then I go down the fairway...I can't stop swinging open face...driving me nutts!!!!
Hi Robert, I would just try to get the ball to start as far in the opposite direction as possible. Play well! Quentin | TSG Instructor
How do I be the best golfer?
Every time I drop, I hit behind the ball and chunk it.
I have the same problem. Appreciate if clay can show me how to avoid it.
