Please don’t compare Adam to that nauseating verbal diarrhoea spewing narcissistic excuse of a professional golfer Poulter as they are polar opposites ! ( from a Brit )
Since watching this channel a few months ago I have gone from a 14 to a 9 index and it's still dropping. No one ever made me understand what I'm supposed to be doing until Adam started posting vids. Thanks doesn't feel like enough but thanks!
This is actually brilliant. So many things I've struggled with are finally explained in an easy to understand way to fix it! There's so much noise and confusing instruction on RUclips, it's a gold mine when you find a channel as good as this
So under rated the algorithm should put him much higher than those other teachers. Seriously he breaks everything down....i can watch you teach all day!
I always interpreted the hinge as a pushing down on the butt of the club with the lead hand, this is the best explaination i've seen that probably explains why i've always found it painful after a session at the range.
This is so well done. I have had a problem flipping my wrists at the top for years. I have gone to numerous teaching pros, all said to stop that, but not a one had instructions in fixing it. My problem at the top, started at the bottom. I followed your lesson today, and voila, I was a kid again. Hitting it solid, straight, and it took care of all of my balance and finish issues. One of my pros happened by and said, looks like you finally got it. I did but not from him. I sent him your drill. I think with this now, I can really hone in on your other lessons. I had a pretty swing before, but now it’s beautiful. Thank you so much!!!
Hi Adam, the last few lessons you posted have been off the chart good. I admire all you have learned and now teach about body mechanics and clubface awareness. Combine this backswing lesson with the lesson on left hip turning back and the handle in front and going left, priceless... Much appreciation for all you do to help golfers enjoy the game.
I’ve waited so long for an explanation on your wrist set. What a beauty video. It would be helpful to show behind you and in front of you a few times. I’d like to see down the line. Best video I’ve seen
Loving these new transition edits. Makes everything smooth! This has also been my question for wrist hinge even though you covered it a while back. Nice detailed lesson! 🤌
This is brilliant. I have played golf in almost 20 years, and all time struggled to set my wrist. It is simply not natural for me. But now I understand this little 45 degree move actually does everything, while I am for years tried to set them so much. Could you also make similar with driver -as guess it is more flatter swing
Awesome stuff. Any advice for a right handed golfer who can't make a full turn because of being right eye dominant and wanting to keep their right eye on the ball. Love your work!
Can you do a video explaining the golf swing as an athletic movement that is never static, but always in motion. If you watch Rory since he began working with Pete Cowan, he now has an almost imperceptible trigger move that starts his swing, very similar to Henrik Stenson's but less pronounced. I have no consistency starting my swing from a static position.
What would happen if a player who was used to bowed and inside takeaway experience changing ? What or how long would it take to actually change your swing
Love it. I am/was like him. A real floppy move at top of backswing to get the “good” angle at the top also due to lack of hinge in the take away. No face control. Thanks 👌
This is a great tip, but my problem is incorporating this move with my driver. It feels intuitive/comfortable with the irons, but much less so with my driver. What do you recommend for the driver? Is it the same move with the left heel pad?
After watching this I just noticed that if I push away at the top of my backswing it helps load my weight down to the inside of my right foot and maybe helps with a slight pause before starting down. What do you think? 0:02
If you are referring to the video we did a few weeks back then the same rules still apply here! The set up in the video is to feel the proper wrist hinge. So even meshing the two drills together would be amazing!
Is rhis this technique same for the driver and wedges? And how is this going to affect the the distance that the clubhead travels for more power and distance cause i thought one goal is to always maximize the width so that the ckubhead travels farther?
A driver will defintley be wider! A lot of the change comes from setup. There will be less severe hinge than a short club and the driver will defitnely travel on a shallower plane.
I totally identifying with your statement, "the club's just basically lost around their body." I have little sense of the club head, let alone the face. And the outcome reflects that. I am confused about how you get a 90 degree angle between arm and shaft so early in the back swing without some degree of manipulation of the hands. Just turning my body doesn't create that angle...I have to be more active with my hands
Hey Blue! Going back to the wrist hinge and turn drill explained in the video, we want a 50% turn and hinge at the 45 degree stick. When it comes to arriving to the set position, we like to emphasize the heel pad pressing down on the end of the grip versus our wrist/hands moving to the set position. This creates less play with the hands which will lead to swing that requires more timing.
@@PorzakGolf I've seen this push down on the grip concept from a couple of other reputable sources over the years. Joe Daunte's Four Magic Moves to Winning Golf (he advocated pressing downward using the right hand on top of the thumb). Rory Mcilroy mentioned this pushing down move as his takeaway key, and said he used to push the left hand straight away from the target, but liked the position this produced better. Pete Cowen, and his instructors are other advocates of this move as well. I've seen a few others, but can't recall who they were off the top of my head. We now know you advocate the downward pressure on the grip as the source and direction of the wrist hinge. What do you advocate as the source and direction of body movement that you say goes in sync with it? Pulling some part of the right side straight back behind oneself (which would keep the spine and head from having excess change)?
You can create leverage with left heel pad which is located on the pinky side of your palm. When you take grip on your club with just your lead hand, try to feel most the weight in the area.
This nugget is absolutely key to a good take away it’s like riding a bycycle once you feel / experience it it’s wow moment you never forget it and it’s something that can be rehearsed indoors without a ball just practice this move / feeling to ingrain it into your swing will reap benefits. Adam is so golf savvy definitely one of the best if not thee best ,thanks Adam.
Can we start calling Porzak the postman? He always delivers!
Also - would love to see a video on the hips / knees in the golf swing!
Why? He doesn’t date 13 year old girls

Major major major improvements!! Keep it up!
the combination of knowledge and fun during the lesson is next to none. best instruction on YT IMO. Cheers Ben

Great refresher of past video! This explains how the take away is one piece. 👍🏼👍🏼
Your videos never disappoint! Your channel is quickly becoming one of the premier instructional YT channels IMHO.
As usual, great explanation leads to great instruction. Light bulb moment. Thanks again.

That’s aweosme! Thank you for sharing! This is exactly why we do what we do!
Genius coaching. Makes it so easy to understand 👌⛳
Um, ya how did you know this is the exact thing I needed at the exact time I needed it ? 😂
Thanks much Adam 👍🏻
I'm always fighting to shallow my swing trying to find the perfect slot to start my downswing. This eliminates the struggle. Thank you!
This is awesome, a different take on how to shorten, get connected and how the wrists work on the way back
Thank you for sorting out my game with your fab lesson

Porzak just putting out golf gems. My swing is dramatically better
🙏🏼
Porzak doesn't miss!!!!!!!!!!
Something I’ve always struggled with! Thanks

Outstanding, Adam! Very informative. Thanks for posting! Jim
Thanks Jim!
Just found you, amazing instruction, well pitched. Thanks
Adam - Awesome video! Great information. My new “go to” video. Thanks!! Jim
@Porzak_Golf .. is this legit??I

Great simple video tips
Hi Porzak! Love your videos, could you do a video on how to put with a armlock putter? Grip etc.
Outstanding video! Thank you.
Great stuff right here!
Master Class⛳️
Amazing instruction!
This is an outstanding tutorial.
Thanks Thomas!
You are the man, thank you!
the pushing away feeling is money
Awesome stuff. Any advice for a right handed golfer who can't make a full turn because of being right eye dominant and wanting to keep their right eye on the ball. Love your work!
Can you elaborate on the pushing sensation off the left wrist?
Awesome video!
thank you kind sir!

Man i wish i was in the states for a lesson im 9 handicaper i have hit a road block😣im learning with these drills
How do you bring it down and release it?
Can this technique be used for all clubs? Drivers, Hybrids, Woods?
Very clear... Thx... What are your thoughts on a Forward Press prior to takeaway?
Should this be the same with all clubs?
can you try do that same on the driver - isnt that a more flat backswing theh with an iron ?
Very informative.......how does this differ from Adam bringing his hands back along the toe line
If you are referring to the video we did a few weeks back then the same rules still apply here! The set up in the video is to feel the proper wrist hinge. So even meshing the two drills together would be amazing!
what does the right arm do in this????
Another great video Adam amazing. Is this the same feel and hinge with the Driver?
Yes it is!
@@PorzakGolf Thanks Adam
Your grip is really strong also
What about your left elbow. You are rolling yours ?
Would this feeling of pushing the butt of the club be the same for the driver swing?
I believe so! I do it anyways, noticed an almost immediate improvement in my overall connection w/ driver swing.
Most definitely Brian!
I would not use the term setting the wrists because from this side it makes me over hinge my wrists and I’m shanking the ball all over the place
Is rhis this technique same for the driver and wedges? And how is this going to affect the the distance that the clubhead travels for more power and distance cause i thought one goal is to always maximize the width so that the ckubhead travels farther?

@@PorzakGolf so for driver we let go of the 90° hinge earlier during the downswing than with the irons?🙂

I don't notice the "bump" as set up?
I just went and tried this in my backyard and I shanked about 5 balls. Help
Yeah it causes shanks !! You have to repeat NOT setting the wrists intentionally. The set is already created at set up
help i dont understand what you mean when you say push the shaft away with the left heel pad
You can create leverage with left heel pad which is located on the pinky side of your palm. When you take grip on your club with just your lead hand, try to feel most the weight in the area.

Pushing down on the heel pad at a 45 degree angle as you make the turn is absolute money. Range time first thing in the morning ⛳️
I artificially set it and it ruined my swing I thought I had problems going inside now I’m all messed up
What is wrong on a bowed wrist? DJ bows his wrist!?
Your right, grip is all player dependent and there have been many successful players with many types of grips!
