I think this is the music he matured into, no doubt he’s got a lot more to share with us musically. I feel that this album contains his growth and experience through the years. His strength is his honesty and openness. I feel honored and blessed to witness this evolution of his music and him as a person.
Thanks for the reaction! I’ve refused to view others’s “explanation” of this song. To me, it’s a reflection on how BTS’s success has been far from what he’d dreamed of & how he has struggled with that fame of being RM. Now, he’s ready to be Kim Namjoon - no one special, just a guy who wants to recede into gentle obscurity for awhile. However, he tells us RM will return some day. And the last word he says is “Trust” which is what the band has asked their fans to do during this time when the members are finding themselves as soloists.
RM: "My beginning was poetry- it's the one and only strength and dream that has kept me going." A very revealing reflection on the joy and price of success and fame.Absolutely love it. 💜
NO SPOILERS: I recommend watching tiny desk performance for his album. He sings a song from his "Mono" mixtape from 2018 called "Seoul" Then he sings the first two songs from the album and explains them as well. I think you're really going to enjoy it. The live band and the cozy setting is beautiful
Namjoon struggling dealing with fame and all its trappings, trying not to lose sight of himself while the whole world watches his every move. The fireworks/wild flower/flower work lyric actually came from his post back in 2017 titled 불꽃놀이the Korean title of "Wild Flower," which rhymes with (firework). He said, "Perhaps in our lives we need wild flowers [ 들꽃; deulkkot]-rather than flames [불꽃; bulkkot] or cherry blossoms [ 벚꽃; beotkkot]- in bloom, tranquilly." It's flower work because wildflowers are like fire works, they spread through the field just like how fireworks spread through the sky except Namjoon is saying he wants to live as a calm wildflower rather than a flashy quickly disappearing firework. So instead of living like fire flowers that is brilliant but would quickly disappear, namjoon would like to live more like wildflowers that are calm and tranquil. He used 불꽃 wordplay in prev work too Him wanting a life like a tranquil wild flower instead of a flashy firework that is quick to burn out. He always paints such a personal and powerful image.
I love your break downs. When I first heard this song, it hurt my heart, for him. But then I saw the RM Live Seoul and he looks so happy and more at peace. As I am sure you guys understand, being highly intelligent is not always easy particularly if you are creative. He performs songs off Indigo, Persona and Sexy Nukim. A must watch. Can NOT wait till you get to my favorite song off the album ~ Lonely 😘💜
Literally bawled watching this. As a fan since 2014 and someone who saw all of the major changes and achievements in their lives, it was so meaningful to me to finally hear what RM truly felt after all of this.
I think he just needed to get this out in order to move forward from the emotions he was feeling at that time. Even in the song Black Swan which was released in 2020, BTS talked about losing their passion for music. At that time, a lot of fans didn't pick up on the hints, but over time it has become apparent that BTS has been struggling with creative burn out for quite a while now. As they mentioned in the festa video, MOTS7 was supposed to be their last group album for a while. They were supposed to go on a break after the world tour, but the pandemic didn't allow the tour to happen. So they released Dynamite, Butter, PTD and even a pandemic album while waiting for things to go back to normal again. After the travel restrictions were lifted, they did the concerts at Seoul, LA and LV, and then announced their hiatus in June of this year. I cannot imagine how they must have felt during this time. The pandemic must have made them feel more stuck in the situation that they were in. So yeah, the last few years have not been the best for BTS in terms of creative fulfilment. Ironically, 2020 and 2021 were also their best years in terms of international success thanks to the English singles that they put out. As much as the English singles were celebrated, they also resulted in a lot of criticism and hate from international media and kpop fans. International media took every opportunity to downplay BTS 's success while kpop fans (and even some ARMYs) complained that the English singles were not as "good" as their previous works. Some fans even went as far as calling BTS sellouts because they chose to record a few English tracks. It must have been an unsettling experience for BTS, receiving all this intense adulation from their fans and then the intense censure from everyone else. And to think that they were already going through creative burn out at that time! I think RM's album, especially the title track, lets us see how all of this affected him and how he is coping with this situation. This album made me cry when I read the lyrics for the first time. I'm sure that was not the effect that RM wanted for the audience because it is a hopeful album. It has a serious tone, but it is still very much a hopeful album. But it was clear from the lyrics how much RM struggled the last few years and that broke my heart. That he was not very happy behind all the glitz and glamor. As an ARMY, I have literally seen in real time what BTS was put through the last few years. So it was painful to see it all spelled out in his lyrics. But I believe that making this album healed RM in a way because he looks so much happier recently. He even mentioned that he was motivated to work on his next album after he finished Indigo. He said it will be a more upbeat one which makes me happy. I can't watch him struggle anymore 😭 PS: I believe the line "The society is for the loudest, yet here I am speaking silence" from Wild Flower is a nod to the fact that BTS always has had loud haters, yet BTS chooses to remain classy and speak only through their music.
In an interview RM said he and the director have talk about Wild Flower MV for the last 3 years. So.. my assumption everything shown are intention and have meanings to portray how much he have gone through for the past years. Indigo is about his last 20s. He also specifically use korean traditional fireworks called nakhwa nori - made from stringing tiny bags with a combo of charcoal made from salt and burnt mulberry onto ropes that get hung over water and lit. Most of the time, they are burnt over water as it creates a beautiful scene of color and vibrance. RM even have to reach out to a culture council or something.
Enjoy bts more. He has the lyric video with the interview with RM that explains each song at the end of the song. They are the same people that create the translations on doolset.
You guys better listen to the full album. RM is soooo talented from lyrics to how he collaborates with different artists...the meaning or story behind every songs. I will always flex and I am so proud to be a fan of Namjoon.
When you react to the full album then do it in order! RM have asked us to do it that way and to pay attention to the lyrics. He was very clear about that. Still do the MV's now but when listening to the whole thing do the songs again in their place.

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. RM wrecked us bad. I cried reading the lyrics my 1st read through. Damn, RM! It hurts that he felt this way. Dang it. This brings me back to what he said at Festa Dinner. Youjeen was perfect. Don't know her but she sounded great. She is a 45yo rock singer. She is part of a band. They are legends in Korea. By the way he did a live on Weverse too. Not the live i was expecting. 😅Hope u can react to that as well. U can watch it here they posted it. He also did an interview and I'll bet we will get behind the scenes so u can watch that and find out more info. This is my fav song. I've heard a few and they are not catchy to me. I need to hear the full album still. Lots of connections with older songs. We shouldn't forget what Namjoon said : INDIGO is his diary of his 20's (of those 4 years)He said this album is born from his feelings at that time. 😭 This ALBUM gives us an insight on HOW Namjoon felt during those years. Also, pls see the explanation video by Bookish Theories. It's very good. RM will go to the military I think in the next 3 months. So in a way this is see u later for now. Hey guysss...first off, I can't wait for the album review!!!! Your reactions are always treasured by all ARMIES. Now, for your knowledge, the word play on flowerwork is symbolic indeed. JOON didn't want to use fireworks. Reason being is because a firework show is big and spectacular and it's nice to look to. But then, it dies away very quickly. He doesn't want himself or BTS to be like a firework show. A flower work is the concept of him and them growing into a flower work. The reference to their stepback, is heavy because of the expectations. He shows us in this entire album how the fame and the expectations cost them and to turn a blind eye to that is wrong. This song is just them wanting to not only rediscover themselves but to also show that they don't want to be known for fame or the spectacle and all of that. They want to be known for the genuine persons they are with the good music they produce. You guys will love the entire album.
As most of us know.... RM was the first member of BTS as well as the "leader" of the group. He speaks very good english which has helped them internationally. I'm sure there is a lot of "pressure" on him. BTS has been together for over ten years. A lot of bands do not last that long. I believe one of the reasons for their solo projects is the fact that two members are serving in the army which is a mandatory obligation. The remaining five members will have to serve as well. So... we may not see them as a seven person group for a while. This is an absolutely beautifully filmed video. Great reaction guys. Take care.
The wordplay is even more clever than you think. In Korean, "fireworks" is literally "fire flower play." Since "wildflower" sounds very similar in Korean to "fire flower," he coined a new term, "wild flower play." The English lyrics only mention "flower works" though. (By the way, there is absolutely nothing weird or awkward about "fire flower play" since Koreans were using fireworks several hundred years before the technology was introduced in Europe.)
I loved your break down so much!! You got what the album is about with just that one song. Thank you for checking this album out, you really just made my day with this video :).
Thanks for Reaction to RM Solo,Pls react more Indigo by RM . "The Astronaut" Jin solo and New song by Jungkook "Dreamers" fifa world cup2022 MV and Live.
The korean words for Flowerwork and firework sound similiar so he did kind of like a Wordplay plus he also meant that don't want to be a firework which is beautiful but extinguishes fast but instead want to be a widlflower which lasts longer . He talked about longevity.
He gave an intimite concert in a small venue for only 200 people. 4 of the artists that featured on his album performed at the concert. It's called RM live at the Rolling Hall in Seoul. You should check it out. It's great!! RM said he wants to go back to his roots. He wants to be a Wildflower in an open land instead of a firework in the spotlights.
He said in the Festa dinner 2022 that the responsabilities/pressure of being the leader, the translator, the connection with the Record Company got to much for him. Personally I think he might step back as a leader to become just one of the members or sharevthis positiin with another member. We'll havevto wait and see. But yes, he wants a more simple, meaningful life. And in his solo career he wants to rap about things that are close to his heart. The whole album is inspired by one of his favourite painters. He's a big art enthousiast. Like he said in the song, he was a poet before he became a rapper and wants to go back to his roots: poetry.
Thanks for the reaction, this song is so beautiful and I'm looking forward to the full album review! Indigo is a literal masterpiece 💙 but also why is nobody talking about Shmo's haircut?? It looks so good on him!
Since you like the video setting, you should check out the making of video for this. He has also done a few interviews talking about each of the songs and what they mean to him. Enjoyed your reaction!
wow i am actually surprised how accurate you are and i never thought of all the things you just said it´s beautiful. and when you do the album please react to the interview with him and all the producers and feat artist.
Excited for your album review!!! P/s : I still amaze how rm start the album saying"I wanna be a human before i do some art" and end the album with "No looking back, no" Masterpiece.
Thank you soooo much for your reaction! I love hearing your different theories. I won't spoil anything but I'm looking forward to your full album reaction and then I suggest you watch the RM 'Indigo' Album Magazine Film and his appearance on the Zach Sang show - in these two interviews he goes through every single track and explains it in detail - its honestly a must watch. The only additional thing I will say is that he refound his love for music through this album and is currently in the studio making his new album (or music for himself/ BTS) which we all can look forward to. And the lyrics about coming back, well, in my opinion it could imply that he's going away soon to serve in the military but he/ they will be back :) Borahae x
Long time no see! Welcome back. 😊 Thanks for the reaction; I loved this song so much. The whole album is awesome, tbh. And maybe later you could react to his live performance of his album songs (together with most of the collaborators) in "RM Live in Seoul."
OMG YOURE BACK!!! thank you for reacting this i've been waiting hehe. can't wait for your review!! the album is sooooo amazing, incredible.and you can see how genius namjoon is (we all know he is but this album shows different level
Yeah, his intention was to put out this album and then just relax, hangout and drink with friends. But he immediately started making another album after, cause he explained on an interview I believe in Psick, (which you guys should also react to it's really fun and funny) that he gets anxious if he just chills and tries to relax. lol And also please react to his interview with Pharell for the Rolling Stones magazine. I loved it. Its on RUclips. They respect and admire each other so much and it shows. So anyway, I cannot wait for his next album and how it will be. Namjoon is really a chameleon and love all the different types of music he writes and produces. He's a real poet and legend!!!🫡🤴🏼👑💎👊🏼💪🏼💜💙💣💥☄☄☄🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

He was so happy on stage. He was really his true self. There's also a Behind the scenes. He said there: I was happy for 1 hour...
I really liked your reaction guys, thanks for being honest and respectful. RM is doing his best and he is super talented. thanks for reacting
Gotta watch full interview about his album: INDIGO
Thanks for the reaction, this song is so beautiful and I'm looking forward to the full album review! Indigo is a literal masterpiece 💙 but also why is nobody talking about Shmo's haircut?? It looks so good on him!
my favorite of all RM's masterpiece. i love them all but this one hits me hard.
This song is so emotional
YAY been waiting for this
Since you like the video setting, you should check out the making of video for this. He has also done a few interviews talking about each of the songs and what they mean to him. Enjoyed your reaction!

Really enjoyed your reaction. Thank you 😊
Excited for your album review!!! P/s : I still amaze how rm start the album saying"I wanna be a human before i do some art" and end the album with "No looking back, no" Masterpiece.
I missed y'all!! can't wait for the full album review.
Also! Happy holidays!
Happy birthday wild flower 🥦 🌼 🌸 💗 💓 💕
Please watch the Magazine film where RM really goes into detail on each song along with the collaborations.
The entire album is awesome
Thank you soooo much for your reaction! I love hearing your different theories. I won't spoil anything but I'm looking forward to your full album reaction and then I suggest you watch the RM 'Indigo' Album Magazine Film and his appearance on the Zach Sang show - in these two interviews he goes through every single track and explains it in detail - its honestly a must watch.
The only additional thing I will say is that he refound his love for music through this album and is currently in the studio making his new album (or music for himself/ BTS) which we all can look forward to. And the lyrics about coming back, well, in my opinion it could imply that he's going away soon to serve in the military but he/ they will be back :)
Borahae x
Thank u for the reaction as always and looking forward for more! Happy holidays!!! ✨
Long time no see! Welcome back. 😊 Thanks for the reaction; I loved this song so much. The whole album is awesome, tbh. And maybe later you could react to his live performance of his album songs (together with most of the collaborators) in "RM Live in Seoul."

This song is amazing! ❤
Thank you for the reaction! I love hearing your insights :)
Love love your reactions 💕
Merry christmas everyone
They’re just taking time to each do their own solo projects and military service when it’s their time to do so
