Ian is the epitome of that. every second he's on screen, he steals the show. despite his age, he had such an incredible energy and enthusiasm that you rarely see.
Totally. He's what has kept me a Star Wars fan through the whole mess. Emperor Palpatine is the purest manifestation of evil I've seen in a movie, despite the flaws of the movies Ian has acted in.

Saw the ending from the line to Anthony Daniels photo ops and I literally squealed and got chills when he said I AM ALL THE SITH. I just love hearing him use to the Palpatine voice so much.
One of the three best voices of all Star Wars movies. Ian, James Earl Jones, and Christopher Lee. I think Lee had the bect voice, and not just as a tribute to the late actor. But he also did Saruman.
I nerded the fuck out when he said “rise” at 0:46 , as much as I respect Ian McDiarmid as a classically trained actor, it pure felt like emperor palpatine had entered the room and i get goosebumps every time I watch this

I love Ian McDiarmid soo much!!! Any snippet of the emperor I get is just amazing! He was in control from when anakin was pod racing to the battle of exagol! The true goat of Star Wars! Ian just makes the character so delightfully evil!

This man is a national treasure. The fact that he humors us after all these years with more interviews and small moments of becoming the character again is a huge gift to us all. I don't know if the world can ever match his talent or his presence, both on and off screen.

The intro music is all wrong.. They should be using the arival of the Death Star theme from the Return of Jedi soundtrack, not the Astroid chase from Empire Strikes Back. Or use the sith theme from the prequels.

Best part of the prequels as we know for his machinations but just go rewatch his ligtsaber skills and how he moves, we know alot is probally stunt actors but the characters pure lethal intent with his lightsaber dicipline, forget what one he uses now but Ian sells it in his face and movement. We know he becomes the emperor and has force lightening because of Jedi.
The first time we see him in physical action you see he also a skilled fighter, he takes 3 masters out in seconds and is only bested by a Jedi Master who didnt do a lot of fighting in the films himself.

I like the fact that Ian draws clear line between the character and himself. He loves his own performance as an actor, but he doesn't like the character. Palpie represents the worst, authoritarian CEO making lot of bad decisions and sinking the 'empire'.
