You know what surprising? They somehow managed to fit the entire senate into that room.
I AM THE SENATE
LOL 😂
Not yet
@Zak Rosenfeld it's treason then
Prequel dialogue is so quotable lol
He will ALWAYS be Emperor Palpatine. UNLIMITED POWER!
POWAAAAR
He will always be THE SENATE
Yeah!! What a Legend!!
I hate him i mean palpatine but ian is a legend
thank you my darlin
Hayden, Ewan, and Ian carried the prequels so hard. They deserve all the praise in the world!
I'll add the wonderful Sir Christopher Lee to that list, if you don't mind.
Natalie Portman too, no one else could play Padme
@@wasbear I am still obsessed with Natalie Portman
A lot of people were part of the prequels, including Jake Lloyd, that people have mostly forgotten. The podrace is as significant as the cantina or jabba's palace for star wars, and that was a lot due to his work in it.
All Prequel Actors, minor and major characters*
Ian just doesn't seem to age. He has really unlocked immortality
unlimited POWAAA
some would say the dark side is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be... unnatural
@@Nicki_Minaj05 this guy gets it
Shout out to Darth Plagueis, (power to create life but should’ve kept an eye open while sleeping)
@@Nicki_Minaj05 Is it possible to learn this power?
I absolutely love how he attends almost every year. You can tell he really loves the character and appreciates the fans.
Somehow, he returns
Long live the empire
He played the emperor when he was really young and he played him when he was actually really old. He basically lived the character.
nice work sherlock.
"I think you mean Supreme Chancellor." God, I love this man! 😂
Long live the empire
Ian McDiarmid is not merely an actor. He is a Shakespearean actor which is why he is able to play Palpatine so well.
Yep he does way more theater acting than screen acting and they're usually a cut above your standard Hollywood actor.
Alot of British actors are all trained Shakespearian actors through The Royal Shakespearian Company
English actors put our American actors to shame. They are almost always classically trained & always carry heavy acting chops from theater that translates effortlessly into films. I'm not into theater at all. But I definitely see the difference it makes.
I had no idea he was only 37 in Return of the Jedi! Great performance!
Only five years older than I am now! That’s just wild and a testament of his talent.
And he's only seven years older than Hamill.
you could see the brown hair coming out under the hood in some scenes
Ian is such an amazing actor gotta love him.
Yeah he is .
You'll enjoy him in Utopia, where he also plays a nazi
@Roman TVN Utopia S2 right? Wasn't he a survivor instead?
@Fide Simatupang Yeah, I was surprised to see him in that!
Dragonslayer and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels!
Really wish they would make a prequel series called Palpatine detailing how he joined the Sith and finally seeing Plagueis live action, that would be sick!
Only if it's inspired from the book "Darth Plagueis" written by James Luceno, it's the most staggering star wars story I've ever read !
With Matt Smith as a young Sheeve Palpatine
Palpatine was arstictorat pure evil born from beginning
@@aaronrosby1644 I read with Will Smith as a young palpatine lol
@@Bary73 my favorite one I've read to man !
I love Ian McDiarmid
We love Ian McDiarmid
@@skyguy62 yo igual
Everyone loves Ian McDiarmid
His scene in Bad Batch season 2 was great
The speech delivery was amazing.
And his scene in Tales of the Jedi was even better
@@ImTheReverse with count dooku and yaddle? Loved tales of the Jedi. I still haven't seen visions yet tho
Somehow he returned
@@willbeard4835 Visions has some great moments but some really bad ones too. I think it’s called “The Duel” that has the very unique, black and white animation style; that one is great. “The Twins” I think it’s called, made by Studio Trigger, is so over-the-top in their typical fashion that I love it.
I had the privilege of making eye contact with Ian when he came to the last Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios. The moment we locked eyes, I could just feel the electricity. What a presence!
Unlimited power
Id never wash my eyeballs again ❤
How did you survive the throw out of the window Master Windu?
You can always tell how much Ian loves doing stuff like this. He always loves to appease the fans with the voice and the memes.
Ian McDiarmid is one of the OGs. Praise the OGs.
OGs forever 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Every time he was one screen, it was the best scenes of the movies.
bless the ogs
He has the most wonderful voice.
The story between him and Wedge is fascinating
My favourite Star Wars film is 'Revenge of the Sith' ....and that's thanks to a large part of the outstanding, phenomenal acting done singularly by Ian McDiarmid.
Somehow palpatine returned. 👌🔥
It’s a good thing this time.
@@Stevie8654 yeah
Star Wars episode 10 Palpatine's Revenge.Cast :Daisy Ridley and Ian Mcdiarmid😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
@@umutdurmus7523 I don’t know why but I’m excited for the new Rey movie.
@@Stevie8654 It was a good thing last time too.
He seems like such a chill dude
The actors who play villains typically are alot more chill than the hero actors
@@gulfcoastbeyblades2192 I approve this.
Ian Diarmid is so good! The voice, the delivery, the overal acting, and how fun and funny he was playing Sena...SUPREME CHANCELLOR Palpatine in ROTS. He was the glue that held ROTS together. 💯❤️
With thunderous applause.
Making him walk onto the stage under Imperial March is THE wya you should present The Emperor to the public.
It should have been the emperor’s theme
@Sarlacc It really should’ve been!!
This is the way.
The imperial march is the public presentation in private his inner darkness that he hides from the rest of the galaxy should be the emperor’s theme
i love him so much . protect this man at all cost . wish i could meet him one day
Make him continue using the dark side and achieve immortality LMFAO
Protect our emperor
His voice is majestic - I'd be in awe and wouldn't say a word when he talks. Absolute legend
Imagine not only having your own theme song, but that theme song being one of the most recognizable pieces of movie music ever.
He’s such a class act and an absolute legend
This gentleman is a class act. He carries himself well and behaves as a true thespian. I really enjoy listening to him speak.
Such a legend. Love his energy and love of the franchise.
Met him last Saturday at Comic con Holland. He is really a very nice man who took his time to make a nice photo with me and my family. He truly loves his fans.
Coooool. I love driving by myself and just doing lines from The Emperor. The way he says "Vader" or rather "Vadaah!" Is my favorite
This man voice is golden!
Ian is so cool, I wish we get more of him soon!!
He did the iconic laugh! Ian is an absolute legend!
he doesn't look bad for 78, fantastic actor
He's absolutely brilliant 😂
Saw him in a play in London back in and around... 2001-2002.
He and Alec Guiness in Star Wars just brilliant
The best thing about Ian McDiarmid is the timbre of his acting voice, it's the Shakespearian background he brings to Emperor Palpatine's voice that makes it so distinct & recognisible ⚡⚡🧟♂️
The man really owns the role with so much pride, on and off screen! Which is uncommon by actors these days. A true legend.⚡
Thank you for these...love listening to there individual stories :)
We're long overdue with a scene between him and Darth Plagueis. I hope Disney makes it happen one day.
He was having so much fun there its great to see him again
Ian sempre incrível e maravilhoso! 🥰 🥰
Isso! Uma pessoa admirável!
I want him to say “The dark side is path way to many abilities, some consider to be unnatural”
Watch Revenge of the Sith
@@Amp661 Already did! I watch it on a weekly basis, fam!
Especially the deep pause when he said "unnatural".
@@Supermanjonny96 already did, i watch it on a weekly basis *
"is it possible to learn this power"?
I got goosebumps 😮 He is amazing, gotta love him!😊😊
0:25 I know the Imperial March is synonymous with The Empire and Vader, but when you introduce Ian McDiarmid (“The Emperor himself”) he has his OWN theme, play The Emperor’s/Sidious’ theme! Missed opportunity.
Exactly what I thought. Emperors theme would also be a fantastic opener
He’s awesome as Palps. His line delivery is so menacing!
This was an awesome moment to watch! Ian is so wholesome and absolutely hilarious
The man with the grand plan💯👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💙
He could have also answered to the guy: "I am the Senate!"
him and bryan cranston should play in a movie together.. would be dope
The man, the myth, the legend!
SIR Ian McDiarrmid!
The greatest film villain of all-time.
He's not a Sir (he ought to be!). I think you're confusing him with Sir Ian McKellen.
Great villain yes but not the greatest villain ever
"To goodness knows what in the most recent movie..." I agree.
Palpatine is the puppet master of the entire saga; one could say that the whole thing wouldn't exist without him. You can tell that Ian absolutely loves playing this role and has so much fun doing it. Combining camp and pure evil is a tough line to walk but for Ian, it seems effortless.
This man has been excellent from the start. He more than deserves the standing ovation and the accolades from the crowds wherever he goes!! One of the greatest movie villains ever!!👹
Thanks fpr Sharinggggg.... greetings from argentina
Ian is so great. A towering talent.
Will say all day long that the Emperor looked his best in Return of the Jedi. Something about him - it just looked SO GOOD. He never looked like that again.
he sort of did in Adywan's version of Empire Strikes Back, and also the Obi-Wan show
Ian is great we really want more emperor scenes I’m so disappointed we don’t have more of the Emperor palpatine. He should be getting so much more screen time
His entrance was EVERYTHING.
I'd love if Palpatine just keeps coming back as long as McDiarmid is alive.
sOMeHoW!!
They better keep using him while McDiarmid is still available
I mean, I'm pretty sure he's always willing
100%!!
This man is always such a joy to watch 😊
What a LEGEND!
My favourite actor in Star Wars by far. Love him!
The best actor to appear in any Star Wars; in my opinion of course.
Alec Cushing and Lee should be mentioned as well but he is the best
Great stuff.
Ian Mchdiarmid has basically been handed a character so Iconic that he at first didn't realise it. But as the decades has progressed he has and it's the reason why he's begun to take roles wherever the emperor appears no matter how minor they are because he's realised that he is the emperor. It's his character that he was instrumental in creating. I don't think now that we'll see an emperor not played or voiced by him until he is physically unable to do so as he's now fully recognised that he is both loved and respected for this role.
"Then I moved in to goodness knows what." Even Ian was like WTH was the sequel trilogy all about?
He was just saying that the emperor was so old at that point that he doesn’t even know what the number of years is. That’s all. Stop reaching. I don’t like the sequels either but you’re just pulling nonsense out of thin air.
He was 117 in TROS, 86 in ROTJ, and 63 in ROTS.
Oh, the power... It's so unlimited.
May The Force Be With Us!
I just adore him
I love this man so much, he has such a great and beautiful soul. God bless his soul.
Thanks to Star Wars for teaching me good vs evil. if i didnt have star wars as a kid i dont know who i would have been. because i didnt learn from school because i cannot sit still and being told what to do and what to learn .. so i returned home as a child feeling like a piece of s... and i learned the english words from looking at danish subtitle while watching star wars over and over.. lord of the rings over and over.. jurassic park over and over.. and today i speak write and understand english .. thank you for this epic way of teaching kids to be good .. i will always be a student of the jedi. i will never turn to the dark side.. no one can make me or poisen my brain more than i did my self .. so thank you for being good and taught me whats right and wrong
Long live Ian McDiarmid, our real Emperor
Glad you had THE SENATE as a guest.
My hero growing up as a kid!
Longest running Star Wars actor. (Besides James Earl Jones’ doing Vader’s voice)
Anthony Daniels?
Anthony Daniels has been in all of them
When will James earl jones do conventions?
@@Railfan-uf9mw He's in his 90s now so never at this point.
I will watch this interview with great interest

This just made my day ❤❤❤
What an absolute legend
Ian McDiarmid is a legend!!!
I LOVE HIM!
He’s a legends🔥🔥🔥
Good to see palpy as always!
Gotta love him!
Such a great actor who truly has UNLIMITED POWER!
Met him a few hours ago. Sweet guy!
Somehow, Ian McDiarmid returned and I'm here for it.
Man this day of Star Wars celebration 🍾 is great
This guy is an incredible actor - classically trained and commercial.
The most powerful being that has ever existed in the timeline of the franchise.
I dunno, Revan as an individual was nothing short of godly. even without the force he was a strategic genius and shewd, cunning warrior.
Then there is the fact he used both the light and dark side of the force to the same extent as palps.
then there is the fact he was among the best lightsaber duelists in history.
Even Palps admired and respected Revan and his acheivments and bane himself based the rule of Two on Revan and malak.
Wooooow!!
🤩✨
What a fella. So down to earth. I'd love to shake his hand.
The only man who can play Palpatine. The way he walks in you still can feel his unlimited power of presence
This would have loved to been to this would have even so cool I always miss the good stuff
How is this dude so grounded, mentally together, spry & still carrying a ready to work attitude at 79? The emperor is a role model 2 us all.
Fantastic ❤
in this video you can see new reincarnation of Emperor Palapatine convincing naive people of this planet that he is harmless actor Ian McDiarmid
seriously a legend
INSANE! WOOOOW
