A lot of people were part of the prequels, including Jake Lloyd, that people have mostly forgotten. The podrace is as significant as the cantina or jabba's palace for star wars, and that was a lot due to his work in it.
English actors put our American actors to shame. They are almost always classically trained & always carry heavy acting chops from theater that translates effortlessly into films. I'm not into theater at all. But I definitely see the difference it makes.
Really wish they would make a prequel series called Palpatine detailing how he joined the Sith and finally seeing Plagueis live action, that would be sick!
@@willbeard4835 Visions has some great moments but some really bad ones too. I had the privilege of making eye contact with Ian when he came to the last Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios. The moment we locked eyes, I could just feel the electricity. What a presence!
My favourite Star Wars film is 'Revenge of the Sith' ....and that's thanks to a large part of the outstanding, phenomenal acting done singularly by Ian McDiarmid.
Met him last Saturday at Comic con Holland. He is really a very nice man who took his time to make a nice photo with me and my family. He truly loves his fans.
Ian Diarmid is so good! The voice, the delivery, the overal acting, and how fun and funny he was playing Sena...SUPREME CHANCELLOR Palpatine in ROTS. He was the glue that held ROTS together. 💯❤️
The best thing about Ian McDiarmid is the timbre of his acting voice, it's the Shakespearian background he brings to Emperor Palpatine's voice that makes it so distinct & recognisible ⚡⚡🧟♂️
This man has been excellent from the start. He more than deserves the standing ovation and the accolades from the crowds wherever he goes!! One of the greatest movie villains ever!!👹

Ian is great we really want more emperor scenes I’m so disappointed we don’t have more of the Emperor palpatine. He should be getting so much more screen time
Will say all day long that the Emperor looked his best in Return of the Jedi. Something about him - it just looked SO GOOD. He never looked like that again.
Ian Mchdiarmid has basically been handed a character so Iconic that he at first didn't realise it. But as the decades has progressed he has and it's the reason why he's begun to take roles wherever the emperor appears no matter how minor they are because he's realised that he is the emperor. It's his character that he was instrumental in creating. I don't think now that we'll see an emperor not played or voiced by him until he is physically unable to do so as he's now fully recognised that he is both loved and respected for this role.
Ian being classically trained and performing Shakespeare in the U.K. for years gave him that stage presence and style of delivery that helped elevate Star Wars beyond just normal sci-fi and into the realm of truly classic film. His contributions should always get the credit they deserved.
I dunno, Revan as an individual was nothing short of godly. even without the force he was a strategic genius and shewd, cunning warrior. Then there is the fact he used both the light and dark side of the force to the same extent as palps. then there is the fact he was among the best lightsaber duelists in history. Even Palps admired and respected Revan and his acheivments and bane himself based the rule of Two on Revan and malak.
He was just saying that the emperor was so old at that point that he doesn’t even know what the number of years is. That’s all. Stop reaching. I don’t like the sequels either but you’re just pulling nonsense out of thin air.
You know what surprising? They somehow managed to fit the entire senate into that room.
I AM THE SENATE

Not yet
@Zak Rosenfeld it's treason then
Prequel dialogue is so quotable lol
Hayden, Ewan, and Ian carried the prequels so hard. They deserve all the praise in the world!
I'll add the wonderful Sir Christopher Lee to that list, if you don't mind.
Natalie Portman too, no one else could play Padme

Ian McDiarmid is not merely an actor. He is a Shakespearean actor which is why he is able to play Palpatine so well.
Yep he does way more theater acting than screen acting and they're usually a cut above your standard Hollywood actor.
Alot of British actors are all trained Shakespearian actors through The Royal Shakespearian Company
English actors put our American actors to shame. They are almost always classically trained & always carry heavy acting chops from theater that translates effortlessly into films. I'm not into theater at all. But I definitely see the difference it makes.
I had no idea he was only 37 in Return of the Jedi! Great performance!
Only five years older than I am now! That’s just wild and a testament of his talent.
And he's only seven years older than Hamill.
you could see the brown hair coming out under the hood in some scenes
Shocked me too

Well the imperial march is Darth Vaders theme, while it is the overall anthem for the empire, it’s deeply associated with Darth Vader
Making him walk onto the stage under Imperial March is THE wya you should present The Emperor to the public.
