Haha! I’ve always been interested in this 6x6 from Tamiya. Grew up building Tamiya Plastic model kits, and have that same love for great illustrated instructions. - Side note, I hear dogs make good companions, ever thought of getting one? 😂 or 2 😂 or …. THATS A LOT OF PUPS! Possibly more than your RC collection…?😅
I haven't built a kit, but have been thinking about it! You're pushing me in that direction, "nudging" would be more accurate... One of these days I'll get to it! I have three dogs and they mean the world to me! I would be lost without them, they are my best friends when it really counts and only us "dog guys" will understand that! Thanks for all you continue to do for this Hobby Gerry! God Bless my Friend!
I love the two and ½ tamiya kits I've built. People make to much of it, like them for what they are, enjoy the build and the bodies and dimensions are imo fantastic. Tt02 rally car and cc02 bronco for me. Best looking rc's I have. The tt02 drive train sounds so so good.
Great video as always Gerry. These G6 01 chassis are great for small scout crawlers.. and can never go wrong with a tamiya kit they are always well built and great manuals to follow.
Agreed everyone in the hobby should build a Tamiya. And that rig actually looks like a lot of fun. I would not have learned what I have without Tamiya as a teenager. But that being said my advice to those coming from today's hobby grade rtr world would be pick the cheapest kit you can find. You will still get the Tamiya experience without the feeling of disappointment when running and inevitably breaking your rig. Without the nostalgia glasses for Tamiya on, it's difficult to accept the quality of some of the cheap materials, the cost of the kit and the overall performance of the completed vehicle. I love Tamiya but whenever I see a new CC-02 that catches my eye and I quickly calculate what it's going to cost to get it trail worthy. I always end up buying a RTR or another branded kit. Everyone needs a broken Frog in there garage though. Everyone 👍
I've had some pretty robust road cars from tamiya, CC01 has been pretty good, haven't tried any of the other big time rigs nut from what I see of their crawler/trail rigs I totally agree with ya 👍
You could never disappoint us !!! Looking forward to the evolution of this new rig I always wanted to buy one and I eventually will...I'm up to 4 6x6 😅
It is so true about the extra parts and bits multiplying. I’ve done a few Tamiya kits and find the relaxing to build. We have the semi version (Konghead) that’ll be built once I finish the MF 01X, after that it’ll be time to finish the GlobeLiner. Nice to see the camera hog dogs. 😊
1/18 scale 🤣🤣🤣 Honestly I would like for my very first build to be a Tamiya Semi Truck ( King Hauler ) or maybe one of their heavy haulers .Great video 👍👍👍
I agree after building my TAMIYA TT02 02 kit for my General Lee project. They are great to build. With very detailed instructions. very fun and a quality build as well. If that is a 1/18th scale, then the original version must be a massive truck. Those tires look like something off an off-road basher. Is this thing's supposed to be fast?
I’ve seriously considered the Volvo rock truck version of this chassis a few times. Wanted to actually make the bed dump and use it with the construction equipment. However, I don’t think my excavator would be able to reach that high, these trucks are very large for 1/18 scale!
@@gerrysoldguyreview right. That is another thing that I wish the whole industry would standardize and come to an agreement on what exactly constitutes each “scale” and stick to it. Makes it rough on us when trying to figure out what trucks and parts will work well with others.

Great build for sure!
6 pups is just right!🤣🤣🤣

Building a kit will change your outlook on this hobby! Taking a box of parts and making a running vehicle is the best!! Thank you for the kind words!
Thanks for the quick run the dogs enjoyed it.
Our pleasure!🤣🤣🤣

Can't beat the deals on the tt02 !
I don’t own a Tamiya or a RC4WD but they are on my radar. 👍Thanks
Tamiya great kit, rc4wd great details!

Totally agree, scout vehicle sounds right already camouflaged it!
Thanks 👍

Awesome build Gerry 🤙
Thanks 👍
Awesome video Gerry 👌. I built the landfreeder quadtrac, it has a ford p/u body. It was a decent and fun build
I looked at it greg, just never pulled the trigger! Thanks

Semi, this. School bus, and dumptruck what variety 😅

I really missed building a big T kit hadn't done one for years!
1/18 scale 🤣🤣🤣 Honestly I would like for my very first build to be a Tamiya Semi Truck ( King Hauler ) or maybe one of their heavy haulers .Great video 👍👍👍
That would be cool! The rigs are great builds!

It can be, I already put a different motor in it and it's now pretty peppy!

Completely forgot about the Volvo! And its claimed to be 1/24 and it still looks big!

@drz_rc so true! I really feel some company's go by the chassis, others go by the body, some just don't care!! IMO
@@gerrysoldguyreview right. I know that there are some that just go by the size of the electronics/motor they put in them as well, it’s wild.
Nice work. Love the dogs :)
Thank you Pablo 😊
How wild are you going with it?! A zombie apocalypse Halloween theme would be fun!
Not to crazy, you know me some kind of military rig!😁
Any kyosho blizzard in the fleet Gerry? Gotta love a tank for snow. Well fluffy non-packing snow anyhow
I do, got the electric one and a og nitro!
I've got the school bus !!!!!
Do you love it James?!😁
Very cool build. You should think about getting some more dogs so they dont get lonely, lol :). Ill send some to ya
Thank you, your right 6 is to few!🤣🤣🤣
Has anyone ever found a mistake in a Tamiya kit instruction manual? I'm sure they must have some somewhere but I personally can't remember 1
Good point I've never heard about any!
Those t wrenches, Like about five hundred
I think I have enough to build an obstacle!🤣🤣
