I say get it running and leave it a ripper, I had a Redcat Rs10 moa crawler with vertical plate chassis and ridiculous flex wanted to put a scale body on it but would've had to re-engeneer everything sometimes it is what it is and it can't be something else. Thanks for sharing.
I bought the HPI Grave Robber body Hearse hoping to fit ut to a crawler, but it ended up on a Danchee for clearance! Monster crawler! Put the trax on it!
My Diane used to paint rc body's and I have a sweet robber she did! Never did put it on anything and it lives in a box 📦 the traxxs might be a but much for the little guy🤣🤣
I would leave it just the way it is maybe try to bring it back to full stock it's just a part of early RC history very cool piece.i would tear it down and restore to factory spec ..?got my 19 year old grandson in to scaling will show him this video
Thanks David 😁 would have to keep it crawler king specs, don't know what I did with the original parts but iam thinking small brushless and new electronics should make it a pretty unique little rig
I'm kind of fond of the old VWs so I would tell you to fix it up and keep it on the shelf as a collector! Is it worth it? I don't know. That's an individual choice but it looks pretty good to me, so yeah, it's an HPI so maybe it is! I just took advantage of the big sales and picked up the Maxx Slash that all the "influencers" hate so bad! :) I'm going to LOVE mine! :) Let the haters hate and the rest of us have all the fun says I! Have a GREAT DAY Gerry and Thank you for another very good video brother.
@@gerrysoldguyreview No my Friend, YOU are the RIGHT kind of "Influencer" due to the fact that YOU have common sense and critical thinking skills, along with a great sense of how an RC is to be driven and used! And THAT is why I appreciate your considered thoughts and opinions! Keep up the good work Gerry!
@@gerrysoldguyreview : No need to thank me Gerry! We need your kind of solid, grounded and fair reviews/commentary on RCs, regardless who makes them! I doubt that half the You Tubers that run the Maxx Slash even have the common sense to LEARN how to drive that particular animal before they dump all of their amazing "BS" on us about it! I bought the Maxx a couple of years ago and find it to be one of the best and most drivable trucks I have! It's a blast to drive hard on a race course and see just what kind of performance it can provide and it will provide as much as your skills can deliver! I'm sure that my Maxx Slash will do the same... My UDR is also a blast with "developed skills" to drive hard and push to it's limits! Maybe I'm just tired of seeing Traxxas getting bashed by blowhards on YT so frequently when all of my Traxxas RCs have done nothing but run well and provide hours and hours of trouble free fun! Just like my Redcat and Vanquish RCs do... Anyway, I talk to much! :)
Your better off keeping it. You actually hit on another subject without realizing it something I've been thinking about. What I'm talking about is the RC's I have everyone is upgraded but alot of them sit. So I'm thinking about selling some of them I will miss them but sliming down my collection & using the money to buy new RC's I've been wanting & know I'll use on a regular basis. I am attached to them & they are my babies but I think someone else can enjoy them & I can purchase some new projects. I'm going round & round with these thoughts & leaning towards doing it but it's hard because you upgrade them but you will never get your money out of it so then it makes me think I'm better off keeping them. I'm just not sure what I'll do.
Iam there with you totally! This week I sold 3 trucks have never done that. But the were unmodified and 2 people asked if I would sell and I said sure. 1/24 and 1/18 just never used them but the guys I sold them to were into them. But then I have a few modified one that I would never part with so when I think about selling those I just drive them and it reminds me why I won't sell!
Pretty slick
Thanks Kevin 😁
Really liking the videos of the older RC's. The problem is every time I watch one of your videos I find myself searching EBay. 🤣
Glad I could be a bad influence 😅
I think u should rebuild it take it out once in awhile for a rip and put it back on the shelf, it doesn't owe you anything. Awesome video Gerry 👌
Not a bad idea. Thanks greg

Nice plan, doesn't need much modern electronics would probably make it pretty fun
I think you should rebuild it as a ripper. It's too unique and good-looking to let go or tear down
Agreed thanks jason!
48dp 21t or 15t with the reduction box, Mud bogger?
You can reverse the chasis so the battery is at the back .
Converting it to the crawler king had me moving the box forward, but I agree mud truck would be cool!
I love the looks of it fix it up
Done!

@gerrysoldguyreview I always go with cool first, then function! 🤑
@staysmallrc that's why we get along so well 😁😁
Wow I just found something that I want really bad. Now I bet they're hard to find in good shape used.
Maybe we could trade😁😁
Good day battle. That thing is completely different than anything I have ever seen. Thks for sharing your truck!
I don't think it's worth your time, it's ugly and has no scale value. I also wouldn't want it 😅😂. You asked, I answered
Not the paint job, it's not ugly, I'm talking about the setup as a scale. The paint job is beautiful.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks buddy we can call it unusual 😀
Thanks again! I do love a bug!
