Bushing roller cam and lifters with key or pin locators have been around since Noah was a boy, circa GM Detroit Diesel for example its only in recent times that automotive performance has adopted roller designs and then plain bushing rollers in lifters.
If you have any type of issues. How do you get The particulates cleaned out from behind those groves in the bushing? I have mad respect for these guys. But I think before you pull the trigger on this, Consider steve morris opinion on Thi bar Versus this type of lifter.
Good stuff, but if you are running a Hemi alcohol or fuel block they do not have pressurized oil to the lifter. I have been told I cannot use a bushed style lifter.
THIS video is one of the MORE informative sensible teachings on physics dynamics on ALL YT about the RRA needle bearing failure phenomenal topic. It is applicable ALL across the board on ALL RRA with trunions. NONE are exempt from these “physics” issues, it’s all a matter of your cam profile affecting needle bearing life span! And the oil of course! R-R-R-R.
Super informative! Thanks!
In a word...!!!!AWESOME!!!! 🙂
Thanks guys,
Ben

Surface area: you get more with a roller against the lobe. That said... I still prefer flat tappets for lower lift [sub 0.500"] applications

What about the older model non Mamba bushed lifter any thoughts on pro's and cons Vs the newer lifter.

close your pie and let the old man speak; i mean, damn, your squeaker drowned him out every second.
Lake is a very sharp guy who adds a lot to the discussion.
Isky has had the non-needle bearing bushed lifters out for awhile now. Is Morel just copying Isky?
Morel developed and patented bushed lifters in the 80s. They pioneered it.
All those needles for the bearing is a recipe for failure.
Good content. Intro and outro are too long!
Its funny how Harley Davidson never used needle bearing lifter.
They do and they do have roller needle failures.
