    Thanks for the tip on the HPI tires. Ordered a set for my xv01 build. They look very scale and look like miniature Advan Neova AD08 tires.

    Hello. Thanks for the video.
    I have a couple onroad TT02 cars, as well as a couple Fazer Mk2 cars. You should try either a Fazer Mk2 rtr with the beautiful body shells Kyosho does for them, or a Fazer Mk2 chassis kit and a body of your choice.
    I have a TT02 kit to build, it is the Mitsubishi Evolution V . I want to do it in the high ground clearance setup, not going to totally rally it but I want to set it up for driving places that isn't just prepped onroad surfaces.
    I am going to do a few upgrades, of course the bearings, center driveshaft, oil filled diffs and universals, adjustable steering links and 2° or 3° toe rear uprights.... and I think I will use the Associated Apex2 FT shocks set, they're 60mm shocks which should work out well for a somewhat rally style TT02.
    I'm going to have to find better tires than the ones in the kit, or at least add foam...
    For the motor I will either use the kit torque tuned motor, or maybe a Holmes Hobbies retro sport 19t or 17t motor or something... adjustable motor mount and 24 or 25 tooth pinion.
    This one will definitely be my most upgraded of the TT02 cars that I have. What do you think of the AE factory team 60mm shocks? And what is your opinion of the Yeah Racing steering set? The Tamiya aluminum steering parts are spendy, and YR has heel good so far for the parts I've tried...
    Any input would he most welcomed.
    Cheers

    how is the HPI rs4 sport 3 compares to all your other chassis? can you have a video on it?

  • @ken23434
    @ken23434 Год назад +1

    I like all your explanations and recommendations.
    However, I wonder why you would start w the Semi-Assembled instead of the cheaper kit version. To replace the bushings with bearings, you practically take the entire thing apart.
    I think the cost would definitely be less w the kit and it would possibly be quicker to finish since you assemble only and not disassemble then assemble with upgraded.
    I do not think you explained how the CF piece was modified to enable the mount for the control arms.
    Liked the video.

      Good question ! That was mostly me being lazy because I’ve built countless kits .. you can save a bit buy getting the kit and building to your spec.. more time required obviously 👍🏻

    Nice car, but by the time you buy all them upgrades, you spend the same money as getting a trf chassis no? The Tamiya business model of crazy money hopups which you have to get is so frustrating. I prefer a hpi or kyosho for this reason

    • @carbonelement77
      @carbonelement77  2 года назад +1

      You are correct ! But trf is very sensitive for normal roads they are more race cars and much lower ! I also like all brands :) hpi is lovely

    • @PatrickSantella
      @PatrickSantella 2 года назад +1

      Or you can buy the Tamiya TT02R chassis kit with alot of hop up already in the kit and oil filled shock

    • @ken23434
      @ken23434 Год назад

      The TT-02D comes w the Sport Tuned motor, bearings and the oil filled shocks. The drift part is the hard plastic tires, so you would want to get rubber street or rally tires for non drift use. Still saves some money compared to basic kit and adding those upgrades. Not as many upgrades as the R version. The R doesn't come w a motor, though.

    An engine is generally internal combustion with a ignitable fuel source, a motor is powered by water or electricity. Claiming yeah racing did not make the shock towers properly is wrong! You bought the wrong ones that are for the s, sr or srx tt02. Brushless is not just about more power, its about zero maintenance, no brushes to wear out, meaning you'll get the same performance throughout the life of the MOTOR! Choosing the proper turn count and gearing it accordingly you can match the performance of any stock motor and never have to worry about it. Clearly you have a nice collection, but lacking a bit in the knowledge department.

    So what you're telling us really is that tamiya rc cars are crap unless you spend an extra $500 on it.
