    My first RC car was a Porsche 934 back in 1978. This is my tribute to that car that started my love affair with RC cars and Porsches.

    👍
    The battery solution is brilliant
    at 51:58 we see the front magnet body posts, but what type of post did u use since we see they go straight out instead of up like the stock ones ??

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks, glad you like the LIPO holder. For the front posts I used the cut off remains of the old posts, drilled holes in the ends and screwed them on in the original location. What's left is basically a rod with a screw hole in one end. The magnetic mounts aren't strong enough for racing but I am working on a plan to solve that problem. 🙂

    39:00 yeah thats why i just buy white aero disks and be done with that. for a shelf queen painting wheels might be great, but for a racing its just pointless. 45:45 now that battery tray is pure genius

      Totally agree the rims didn't last long on the tarmac aero discs are a way better option, and better tyres are a must. Glad you like my 2S solution, thanks. 🙂

    Awesome vid THANKS! Is it necessary to put that much grease in the diffs? I just started building mine, and NOW would be the time to add more. I just lightly brushed grease with a small paintbrush into ALL the teeth everywhere... no where near as much as you applied but all teeth are greased. Thanks dude again great vid

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  Месяц назад

      Thanks for the great comment. The grease does seem to disappear. I suggest assembling the diffs have a play with them for 5 minutes then open one up to see where the grease is. Quite a lot ends up on the casing not the gears. It is a balancing act but I have never had a diff issue. 🤔 More TT-02 coming soon. 😁

    is this the same process as the subaru tt02 ? im somewhat new to rc and really itching to getting the subaru.

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  19 дней назад +1

      Yes, the Tamiya TT-02 Subarus have exactly the same chassis. You will have to pay careful attention to the wheelbase settings but that is all explained in the kit. Enjoy your build. 🙂

    I think you should have put a layer of white paint under the orange one.

    My car pulls to the right when driving straight. how can i fix it?

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  Месяц назад

      You can begin by adjusting the trim settings on the transmitter. If you need to adjust it further you may need to the the servo horn off, centre the trim, refit the servo horn and then adjust the trim again. Check to see if all the wheels are rotating freely. If one is sticking that can pull the car to one side. Finally you can adjust the length of the steering track rods to create 1-2 degrees of 'toe-in' this will make the car more stable in a straight line. Hope this helps. 🙂

    Good video. Did not think of petroleum jelly? How does it hold up? Built a tt02 gtr a few years ago. It is my fastest rc vehicle. It has a castle brushless 5400 or a 5600 kv. With a 2 cell lipo it is very fast. Need to get that Porsche body you have. Great paint job. Would like to do a Gulf Oil paint job. Building a TT02b now. I will modify it as I go. Most important is the ball bearings

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  2 месяца назад

      Thanks, glad you liked my video. The peutroleum jelly works a charm. I'm certainly looking to do something special with my next TT-02. This build has had some VERY radical modifications. The video for it will be out next Friday. 😎

    Did you think about spraying the body inside grey, black or white once you were done with the painting work? Helps give the inside a uniform finish, boosts top coat colour (preventing the 'jelly bean' look) and protects the paint from accidental scratches when putting body on. Great build, so fun to watch!

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  2 месяца назад

      Thanks for the great comment, glad you enjoyed my build. To be honest it was a combination of over excitement and impatience otherwise yes, backing up the colour would have been ideal. I'm working on another TT-02 build which will be out soon. Have you seen my TT-02 / APC conversion vid? 🙂

    HI I was wondering on where you have bought the TT-02 and Porsche GT3 992 stickers for the bottom of the chassis? They look super clean on the car!

      Thank you, it's a really enjoyable car to build and race. Did your bodyshell take as long to paint as the car took to build? Mine did... 🤣

    • @kanenstuff
      @kanenstuff 5 месяцев назад +1

      @StaplesandVine yeah was a whole weekend the rims, mirrors and swan necks foe the wing were done with TS white then blue and a gloss. The body was PS black were the stickers are then the blue stripe wing ends and under the rear wing then white, backed in black and smoked windows but worth getting some good comments.

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  5 месяцев назад +1

      This TT02 is going to get a radical makeover but I have bought another Porsche GT3 such a great looking car. That will get the full race treatment ... 😁

    • @kanenstuff
      @kanenstuff 5 месяцев назад +1

      @StaplesandVine for sure thinking of buying another body for carpark or track driving and keep this one for the shelf but proballly won't as I don't have any shelf queens.

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  5 месяцев назад +1

      That's partly my justification for buying another GT3. The original body is for Sundays with the lads, the new one is fror display. The bodies aren't cheap, it made sense at the time... 🤔

    This is one of those rare videos where someone actually put more thought into the mess of wires between the ESC and the motor. Thats the way I would arrange the wires, and cover the ends with shrink tubing. Overall, very well done and inspire people like me to get another kit

    • @StaplesandVine
      @StaplesandVine  7 месяцев назад

      Oh no! I'm so sorry, TBH I was more focussed on getting the livery right than filming it. Getting everything correctly aligned was a challenge. I reckon the body took as long as the chassis. If only someone could come up with some renders of a Jagermeister GT3 - now that would be cool... 🤔😁
