First off, I LOVE your channel! Most entertaining and watchable playthroughs of any D2R streamer I've found. Keep up the good work! I recently played a Bladesin, using Cleglaw's most of the way through. I found that I had a much easier time clearing things using blade fury, since the damage was better than blade sentinel. But, because of the stupid delay to start the throw and the constant interruptions, I needed a tank to allow me to just cut through everything from afar. Act V merc (especially once I found a Lem and gave him lawbringer), along with a couple points in Shadow Master for a reuseuable tank, made this run so much easier. With all the slowing and the damage increase from Decrepify, things pretty much just sailed along.
You sir are an amazing player! I've watched every single video on the channel. You made me install Diablo2 again after a long 10 years break. Running a Fury Druid single player atm. Still act2 nightmare! Keep it up! Kudos from Brazil
For those not aware cleglaws has been the champion for pvpers for decades. It’s a starting set we use to get the best mods at low level until we get Better jewelry. For context my charger Paladin was hitting 2000-2500 range with same set and other jewels. That’s at level 20 or so.

GG! I thought the CB and slow would carry the set hard, but I guess the damage is really lacking and later it just pales in comparision to some pretty easy to make gear (black + ancients pledge combo like you mentioned)
I feel like you made this significantly harder than it needed to be by not upgrading the sword and not using Mind Blast. Well done completing it anyway though.
Great video! I recently did a SSF HC bladesin run and ended up beating it with a pretty crappy malice. I think i wouldve actually like the clegaws set upgrade lol! That max damage per level roll is solid plus the AR per level and knockback look nice! I did get to utilize claw mastery so it mightve ended up being pretty similar though. Definitely a slog but it was fun. I noticed cloak of shadows plus mind blast conversions really made things easier
Thank you! Malice is a great weapon, but it's definitely intended for bosses and Ubers. I can imagine Claw mastery and all the supporting skills helping a ton.

bladesin build is arguably one of the best ladder starters, you can easily do all content with it and cleglaws set is actually really good if you get the full set of 3, upping it helps aswell
Ages ago i made a 'max investment' blade sin and cleg's gloves were more or less regarded as bis. Other bis was grief zerker (eth would have been true bis), Phoenix monarch, Gface helm, fortitude armor(I think), Gore riders, Highlord's, Ravenfrost, BK, Can't remember belt but I think it was verdungo's... The gloves were preferred for the KB
Would be a nice addition to a holy grail - finish hell with once with a single set of everything. It proves viability of it, and everything else is allowed of course. I consider holy grail to have found every item at least once btw.
Cleglaw full set is actually a valid option for a bladesin: you get +50% damage and +35% CB, huge amount of AR (where a bladesin is lacking with poor gear) and some minor bonuses (slow and KB). You could cope it with Angelic or Hsarus for more AR, so you have plenty of room to cap your resistances (Smoke very smart choice) so you can use BoS for mobility (otherwise Fade is fine too, and I would go for Peace for Valkyrie and CS). The last issue is dealing with physical immunity, and I choose max Death Sentry, far more useful than Venom. Then I see that you don't eve use one the 2 strongest skills (Cloak of shadows and Mind Blast). Oh, and you forgot to socket the weapon (ETH). Anyway, good job again.
well, i just met this channel, he plays like he is kinda new to the game, and also he plays with joystick (which i think it sucks, but well, thats because im too old and grumpy, and ive been playing for over 20 yrs on bnet online and i got my ways) but at least the content is entertaining and it adds some new challenges to the game, which is good and fun to the new players who make d2 community bigger and richer. That being said, geez d2 content creators really love to talk and overexplain things, i watch all these kind of videos on 1.25 as default.
Bro I love the assassin and the blade skills after the new changes for next hit delay. So fun and so fast to rush through to hell now since your skills are so powerful before the gear. Burst of speed on the whole time never felt nicer
Great run, I can't imagine how much time it took to record all the footage. I think Cleglaw's could have played the dragon tail assassin pretty well. Plus you can upgrade your weapon with the cube.
OK, I didn't think that was actually possible. If I HAD to try this, my best bet would have been a Kicksin, because her damage scales of her boots instead of the weapon.
Those runs actually start to revive my interest in players 1 diablo, as I play constant P8 or nothing for many years. Maybe time for some goofy builds on ez mode.
For actual builds probably pure Rabies (no fury) or Poison Dagger like you mentioned. Spirit of Barbs druid or golem only necro perhaps as well but I haven't tried those. Impalezon will be very very hard as well but probably is able to do it with enough time and more patience than I have
You can get through Hell with this set, if you use act 3 merc. I recommend a cold merc as it provides great CC and due to its ice armour is actually quite tanky.
0:10 For sure you are allowed to upgrade the set to Elite? 1:00 your math is off - there can be pluses on rings and other gear. Unless the challenge disallows them. Then your math is solid. 2:00 your next minutes are hard to follow since you don't show what build you are in and what points. I am and should have included I decided not to. It takes too many statpoints for about 30 damage. The math is very generalized cause I'm trying to set a mood. I have 3 other more in depth video's about this build :) The name is flipped cause the screen is flipped cause I think it looks cool.
@@thenuclearrabbit i had always known it was great on bosses. I had not seen it shine vs normal mobs really until Strafe. Hitting mobs off screen with Slow+Knockback was the best I have felt on an SSF Bowa. Particularly now that Insight can go in bows.

Assassin is actually one of the classes I never played, and thus have no idea how the set interacts with the skills you used. I therefore had to go and look up the skill and find out the interactions, and how the damage of the skill works, like it uses 3/4th weapon damage. So for future runs, It might be an idea to show the primary skill on screen, and give a short 5-10 sec explaination of what the skill does. Since this skill uses weapon damage, and they made set pieces upgradeable, if the correct runes was found, it might have been a good idea to get this upgraded. Damage would go from 3-19 (long sword) to 10-42 (rune sword) to 5-77 (cryptic sword), the set gives max damage based on character level, and the deadly strike would help out too. Edit: Just saw someone else commented on the same thing, and seeing your responce about the item needing higher stats to be wielded.
I don't exactly know how it works but I believe the BiS weapon is a fleshripper fanged knife. It doesn't count ED or something like that I forgot I just play the thing I don't really dive deep into mechanics. Also thank you :)

Awesome video! Assassin is my least played class so I know nothing about her. Does Blade Sentinel proc things like "life steal" and "Crushing blow"? Does it scale with Attack Speed or FCR?
Wow you really earned that one, that was a hard build to take to guardian. 👍 Regarding the save and exits... i think in hardcore the game should only allow 5 save and exits and then you die. Like Mario lives, every time you save and exit you "use up a life".
Dude. This game is freaking scary enough many times. Save and Exit is the only Option so often, because there are some ... mixtures D2 is throwing at you. OMG. If you could not do the Save&Exit i would have lost so many more Chars. :D The Best Example is a Run in the Cow level. 4 Guys, good combination of chars. Good Gear blabla. Two Bosses at once. One with Fana Aura, the other Extra Strong and Extra Fast. We saw it. And instant Save and Exit. No way man.l

I didn't want to spend 88 statpoints to get a 30 base damage increase instead of over 350 hp :) Upping the shield is a downside cause it gets more block cause it interrupts your attacks
@@thenuclearrabbit @thenuclearrabbit Try getting two swords. Put sheals in them. Put them on level 10 Barbarian with double swing. Of course you'll need some charms to give yourself the stats you need. That's can make you kill Tristram players 8, no problem

14 hours is a lot slower than most of my runs these days. It is on the faster side for challenge runs but a regular run takes me nowhere near 14 hours anymore
Any chance you could either linger on item images longer, or maybe even better, mention a bit more of what you like about them(what effects give the item value for your build). I really enjoy your videos, but I have to pause a lot to understand the context.
Once again, reminding you that 1-point Cloak of Shadows would solve nearly all of your problems. Also, can't you upgrade sets now? It still wouldn't be good, but it would be better.
I was using it! You can see it well in act 2 hell. You can, but it's still a lot of stats to spend into str and dex instead of vit for not a lot of damage
How about a run with only charges in items as aktive skills Passive everything allowed Or a run where u must equip every quest reward u get from A1,Q3 and Q5 A3 ormus ring .... A5 Anja reward🤔might be a challange
I had the weapon and was like, they this is a nice thing to use on a new character when I'm leveling. Then I got to that character and saw the stats needed to invest and was like....I cant use that until I can use steel so why would I use that.
@@thenuclearrabbit irathas pretty much is best starter set depending on needs. Caster, melee 1 handed and bow/jav When you add on other pieces it just really shines.

I am going to beat the game with every set atleast once. But seeing as that is over 20 runs it's a long term project

I don't exactly know how it works but I believe the BiS weapon is a fleshripper fanged knife. It doesn't count ED or something like that I forgot I just play the thing I don't really dive deep into mechanics.

Assassin is my least played class so I know nothing about her. Does Blade Sentinel proc things like "life steal" and "Crushing blow"? Does it scale with Attack Speed or FCR?

Regarding the save and exits... i think in hardcore the game should only allow 5 save and exits and then you die. Like Mario lives, every time you save and exit you "use up a life".

Dude. This game is freaking scary enough many times. Save and Exit is the only Option so often, because there are some ... mixtures D2 is throwing at you. OMG. If you could not do the Save&Exit i would have lost so many more Chars. :D
The Best Example is a Run in the Cow level. 4 Guys, good combination of chars. Good Gear blabla. Two Bosses at once. One with Fana Aura, the other Extra Strong and Extra Fast. We saw it.
And instant Save and Exit. No way man.l

Upping the shield is a downside cause it gets more block cause it interrupts your attacks

Try getting two swords. Put sheals in them. Put them on level 10 Barbarian with double swing. Of course you'll need some charms to give yourself the stats you need. That's can make you kill Tristram players 8, no problem

Trang suit is pretty endgame viable, and necromancer has a ton of defensive tools for HC. I've only recently gotten into HC but Dim Vision curse is my MVP.

Another great run, some of those fights took an eternity. Did you time how long it took to complete start to finish?
About 14 hours. I don't keep track but I always see how long I took when I start editing the footage :)

14 hours is a lot slower than most of my runs these days. It is on the faster side for challenge runs but a regular run takes me nowhere near 14 hours anymore

I was using it! You can see it well in act 2 hell.

I had the weapon and was like, they this is a nice thing to use on a new character when I'm leveling. Then I got to that character and saw the stats needed to invest and was like....I cant use that until I can use steel so why would I use that.
Yeah the weapon on its own definitely isn't anything special so can't fault you for that

It's not worth it damage wise. It nets like 25 damage at the cost of a couple 100 life
