It's only when you play the game like this you REALLY learn to appriciate the "other" uniques and I love it, it's how it worked back in the day before runewords and soloing everything

Is druid the best character? Yes. Yes it is. Its not about hitting your tornadoes, its about casting enough tornadoes that you end up not caring that 95% of them miss.

Kelpie snare has become super underrated ngl
Hawkmail gives you 10%FRW, but in fact it doesn't. it's a heavy armor type (scale mail, plate mail, full plate mail), wearing it gives you -10%FRW by default, so 10%FRW on it just offsets the penalty.

Oh good point! I didn’t consider that at all when equipping it. Only CBF made it a bit of a weak choice then, at least for a caster

Shout out to Kelpie Snare as well, one of those less talked about uniques that I use myself a lot because it's actually that good and has no unobtanium tier drops.
Considering this can be done with blue items, the answer is yes. Easily.

Hell people killed Baal in Hell and Uber Trist in a team of 5 players without even having gear. This run is called Iron Man run.
@@JoelChenFa This game has been around for 25 years. Every "challenge" run you can possibly think of has already been done. No shade at the channel. It's always fun to see things like this. But it's by no means unique (no pun intended) and there are countless videos of the same thing that already exist on YT. So the video poses the question and I answered a simple answer. Sorry it hurt your feelings.
@@JoelChenFa If you’re even slightly experienced in Diablo 2, it’s not difficult to believe. I don’t even understand the point of this video. A completely naked character can cruise through all of normal and half of nightmare (all of nightmare for some classes) quite easily.

Just watched the title and wondered.. why not?
Long after 1.10 I almost exclusively built my characters with only rares/crafted, set and unique items.
I think the reason was mostly the very low drop rate of high runes and when playing solo self found mostly.
I also did not like all the too OP runewords like spirit and insight on merc so I skipped those.
I guess I also liked the way itemization was in 1.09 so I liked to try and recreate those characters I played back then :)
After doing a lot of play throughs recently I also think the game is more fun if you skip the super efficient RWs like spirit, lore, ancients pledge, stealth… but I also find it very hard to pass on the “cheap” power 😁
Mr Lama can beat Diablo Hell Barb with just fists, yes - you can do this.

i was hoping to see more relevant use of the cube to upgrade item tiers. like taking the dark clan crusher cudgel and upgrading it from cudgel to truncheon for example.

I don't know if you guys know this but he found a shako. Buriza on a werewolf is super fun btw.
I was considering trying that when it dropped because I’ve read about it several times online but never tried it myself, but when it dropped I was already kind of done with the werewolf spec.
@@zarfen The freeze on hit + 80% IAS is fun, you can run it through hell for sure. Doesn't waste any ammo either. Scaling damage on it helps.

Wind druid :) if you gear them similarly to a hammerdin with max block they're extremely capable and fun to play.

I saw that thread too and it was funny because the OP really doubled down on shack-o but the comments all united in telling OP they were wrong 😂
As a HC only player, i can only approve of kelpie's snare, there is no other item that can provide such a slowing effect, the only alternative would be reaper's toll but finding one for such a challenge is so unlikely and would be useable too late anyway.
Dual wielding doom ..level 12 holy freeze aura i think is "slows target by 53 %" and that's one doom axe ... snare is an interesting unique though..

my suggestion is to do "no runewords", because youre forced to use uniques, set, rares, etc. anyways.
Yea it’s easy to default to ancients pledge, lore, stealth and spirit because they are so strong and easy to make

I still havent found my first shako on my HC single player journey after a year of grinding but did find Sur, Ohm, Vex and some random goodies. Nothing super gg though
I am right now trying this exact same challange, ispired by you, but without the magic find starting gear, and on my 2.nd andi run, the room before her throneroom, the elite just dropped a Gull!!! (100% magic find dagger) what is this insane luck...
Also i got literally the best mapping of catacombes lvl 2 and 3, teleport right next to entrence to lvl 3, and lvl 3-4 is just a straight walk of 3 rooms

Next time you do something like this, try and get a Kelpie snare on an act 2 merc, pretty solid with its 75% slow effect. Just a good tip.

Cool run. The "cheat" of allowing MF-only magics probably saved it from being very tedious. Just think of a fighter class trying to defeat Andariel with Horadric Malus before the durability breaks (can't repair it at Charsi's after all). Not pleasant.

Haha the Malus was suggested to me before as a starter weapon but I didn’t consider that you can’t visit Charsi for anything then, that’s funny! 😂
Of course you can, zon - shaft / shako / storm shield / easy throw on whatever else / tstrokes/ tgods…

If you're inclined to do this challenge again, maybe a class that doesn't have great spell casting.
Also, I think it would be a good idea to add in some of your chat on the side of the video, especially with drops.
I agree. If I revisit this again it would be interesting to do it with a more weapon/gear dependent class.

wanna try this out?: farm each act boss until u get specific item and if u find it u can go next act, and in hell u need to find kinda much rare drops :D
