Glad you recognized it was a chick and to go slow and gentle with it, and have good humor with the little guy. It was probably just a little thirsty if it’s hot and dry outside. I found that birds really like Gatorade :)
Ancient Romans said it was good luck to get pegged by bird poop, but I think that started after Nero was anointed... I learned this after my wife was blessed by a starling back in 2006 while we were at the Roman Forum near the Senate, likely close to where Nero had his incident. Starlings are everywhere there and fly in huge shape shifting groups (search YT, to see what I mean). Great video. PS - I used to live in those parts. Went to South Olive and Palm Beach Public.
