You are right, it is not long enough but it is even longer as the record label of Nightwish wanted it. They said to Tuomas "write a song about the solar eclipse 1999, it should be 3 minutes long". It is now about 4,5 minutes long and this is short for a Nightwish song. I can image that the record label never gave Tuomas such an order again.
It is a beautiful song, and I often hear it my head, and played it a lot during the day of the 2024 North American Total eclipse as i was in the path of totality., I also love the version from the Masters of Rock 2016 concert.
