Being someone who is also trying to build an income on youtube i know how hard it can be. You spend 9-10 hours recording, then 3-4 hours in editing and then you have to make some thumbnails for the video. But hold on, i didnt mention all that time you put into the planning of a tutorial. Well of course, you could just sit down and do something while the camera (or in this case the screen recording tool) is rolling. But then you have no controll of it unless you have rehearsed it. And when talking about rehearsing, thats just more hours to add. So when the 30 hours you put into it, only generates some 20-30 wievs and a couple of new subscribers, it is safe to say that you put way more into it than you get out of it. Now i am talking about my own experiences obviousley. But i really know how hard this can be. I am not trying to make it worse, but making tutorials really is a job like all others. So please continue the good work, your tutorials are great:)

@@MrSorbias Listen mate, don't worry so much about your accent. Most people don't speak any English at all and they certainly don't have your artistic talent. You have many more subscribers than a lot of other Blender channels out there who are native English speakers. It takes practice to learn to speak a language fluently and you have the advantage of already speaking the most difficult language in the world! So look on the bright side. Consider all the things you do have which other people don't, instead of the other way round. You're a talented person who lives in a beautiful country and you do have a computer and the amazing free Blender software which enables you to make videos so you can express yourself and share your artistic knowledge with the whole world. Your channel is one of the absolute best ones about Blender in the whole RUclips universe. I'm sure most people agree with me. That is why I subscribed years ago. And your accent is one of the ingredients that makes your channel so special to me and to many of us too. It always surprised me how you struggle to speak in a language which is clearly not your native tongue and how you face and overcome that difficulty. Oh man, I haven't watched too many of your videos yet, but one was enough to convince that you must be a very nice, chill and friendly guy. Okay yes I can't really deny the fact that your accent made the tutorial (the video that I managed to find you with was the amazing cupcake tutorial) a bit tough to understand, but only sometimes, most of the time I felt like the accent thingy made the whole thing more unique and interesting rather than negative. I really have no clue on why would people see it as something bad and attack you over it. In addition to that, your voice was probably the main factor that made me shed a tear while watching this video. As I mentioned before, I've never seen you before, never heard about you and yet, the way you were speaking, telling the story, so purly, so thruthful made me fell as heartbroken as never before. I really do hope that things are going to only get better. Maybe you should think about setting a patreon account, Im more than sure that you have some loyal fans that are willing to provide you with a small additional income.

For me painting is kind of just brute forcing the pixels. If they are somehow wrong, it's very easy to fix. For example, you can paint over the same tree like 10 times until its good. In 3d you cannot do it in the same way. The medias are very different tho.

I just wanted to say thank you for your magnificent tutorials! 💕, I’ve always wanted to learn 3D Modeling for several years but never really got into it because I found it daunting. But I decided to try your blender cake tutorial last week, and I’ve learnt so many things and it gave me the fundamental understanding of how to make 3D models in general. I'm not sure what you mean. Maybe you weren't successful in paying your rent with RUclips, but I think you were very successful in every other aspect pretty much. You have 140 high quality videos on RUclips and a following of 22k people. I think that's pretty impressive. You also got like 300 views an hour after uploading the video. And it's not even a blender video with clickbait title or anything. From the comments you can see how many people you were actually helping with your videos and who now want to help you. For a long time I was admiring your renders and your skill. Maybe if you're feeling a bit burnt out or find all of the new blender 2.8 competition hard, you could focus on other things. Painting tutorials for example. Or developing certain styles in blender. Or maybe something with game development. Or maybe something with animations. If you're frustrated a bit and think you're not progressing, then don't give up, but change the direction a bit.

Sir, you are very much right. I shouldn't compare my work to other people. I do my stuff with my own speed and that's it. If I do my best then I should be happy with it no matter what the results are.
Someone once said to me that "When you do your work, do it in a way that no one would come back saying: why did you do it in this way. You didn't do your best."
I was working very hard for very long for this channel. I uploaded almost daily at some point and the channel was growing quite fast. Then I saw that some people started way later and they become very big channels way faster than I could ever do. That was the start of my burnout. So I started mirroring myself to them. Something has to be wrong in what I do or how I do. Maybe it's my accent or my personality or the way I work.
But, it's not supposed about them or about me. I just need to do what I feel right. I don't wanna be competitive towards other people. I actually wanna be happy if they are successful. Of course it's not from me.

please look at what tutsbykai and olav3d are doing right. I feel like you are only attracting serious viewers and not casual. What do I mean by casual?
well, people who might not replicate your tutorials but watch it for the fun of finding out something new about blender.
I feel like ian hubert, tutsbykai and olav3d are attracting that segment very well. Beginners in blender like to see short but interesting videos, not something that explains particular tool in deep. Try making something like-- make a superman fly animation in blender in 5 minutes or something like that which would attract more viewers since you are making them curious. If that is the case then your accent doesn't matter. But if you are creating long videos with very serious content most of the casual viewers will feel bored especially if you don't have an energetic persona which not everyone have.
Now please dont take this in the wrong sense, I genuinely learned a lot from your modifiers explained video and want your channel to succeed.

About accent... no problem with that :). I also get my share being Swedish on RUclips. Mostly my voice is compared with Winnie the Pooh :D. I must also say that I have learned a lot from your tutorials. They are great and the speed suits me fine. However... I noticed that I can make money from my Blender knowledge... but not on RUclips. I see YT more as a platform where people get to know you and your knowledge. Your earning is more on educational platforms like skillshare, Udemy, Domestica, Blendermarket, Freelancer and so. If using a lot if those platforms for teaching, selling products or create freelancing assignments... then you can live on it... but not on YT alone. There are already too many "kings" taking place and makes it almost impossible (there are exceptions...but they are few). So... keep adding stuff here to keep your name and face known, but spread your eggs and it will be a lot easier for you :).

People already wrote about your accent. That it's ok. So I'll write about different thing: when there is some amount of people, some of them will write crap. Negative comments. I don't mean critique, but same comments about accent and this kind of stuff. Not because something is wrong, just because they are... Let's say not that good people.
It may be hard to overcome it. But don't know. I think, general reception and proportion of likes and dislikes are more important.
And you've said it. In modern times, accent is something usual. Well. People already wrote it. And I never had problems with understanding on what's you're saying. I think it's more important than presence or absence of accent.
Don't know what else to write. It's cool that you've started to paint. It's a cool skill. And, if you'll decide to return to 3D it'll help you a lot. At least, as I think.

You are very much right with this what you said. The diversity of comments in platform as RUclips is, is just crazy. Some of the comments will go into the head you want it or not. Sometimes it happens and you just randomly get a popup into your phone and it's something so arbitrary in arbitrary situation.
Some people probably are better at managing the strange feed of comments than others. The bigger channels probably don't even read the comments.
