- Hey everyone and welcome to another inflight video!!! We will be going over what it's like to fly TAP from Lisbon to Chicago. The aircraft will be onboard yes you guess it, the Airbus A330-900NEO. In case you're all wondering, the reason why we were some of the first passengers to board was that my parents flew business while my sister and I sat in economy. This was on my return trip back to Chicago after spending sometime with relatives in Lisbon.
TAP is the flagship carrier based out of Lisbon, Portugal.

Thanks again...again! I like that you showed the long trek from the entrance at LIS to the gate, so now we know what to expect. The TAP site states that the personal item is limited to 2 kg, but it's clear that they didn't enforce that on this flight. I see quite a few passengers with both a backpack that is larger (but still would fit under the seat) plus a rolling case for the overhead bin.
That's s your handbag. On top of that u hv 1 carryon now up to 10kg

Thanks for this video. The infotainment, food (yummy), seating all looks great for an economy fare. I will be flying TAP from London (stopping over in Lisbon) to NYC. Is it easy to extend my stop over in Lisbon by 20 hours to say a couple of days?

This was excellent! We are flying from Chicago to Lisbon in late February and then needing to connect to Malaga. My concern is making the connection OK. (I was also surprised about bus ride out to the plane.). I'm just a newbie with international travel.

Is there a lot of room to walk around the cabin? On international flight I usually get up to stretch my legs a lot by walking around the cabin and certain planes have more space than others
Do most of the TAP air jets have power plugs or USB with power delivery in economy class? Due to take a flight on TAP later this year and will be flying Economy and would be great to charge my phone and tablet while in flight (it's a long flight).
Is there any drink limit during the flight? What drinks can you order?
How were they as far as carryon bag sizes go?? I hear they are sticklers. Did they make people put it in the bag sizer before boarding? I’ve been stressing out about this too much. I fly with them in 2 weeks and mine is not 8” in depth, more like 9.25”. 😟I do t want to have to pay the high fee to check it at the gate.

@@Daniela218 I actually ended up bringing a slightly smaller travelpro carryon that I found instead, but I wanted to put it in the sizer just for my own curiosity if I came across one in the airport. On all my flights they did not pull the bag sizer out and have everyone size at the gate. But the gate next to us on our direct flight back to the US (in Lisbon) , which was also a TAP flight, they did for every single bag before entering the gate area. I guess I got lucky!

Glad they have the metal cutlery, my first time on TAP in 1986 MANCHESTER to Faro and as i kid i shouted oh wow they have real knives and forks…it was due to fact of the shitty UK charter airlines at the time it was plastic but this time we flew TAP, i guess tour operator used this service back then and it was a 727, back on a 707

Great trip report. I wonder why did TAP decide to discontinue using A330Neo for their flights to New York and they now fly a narrow body A321 on those routes
TAP still operates the A330-900 to JFK, but switched to the A321 to Newark.

For some reason I feel like a narrow body plane like A321 or B737Max is not as comfortable for long haul transatlantic flights as the wide body jets like A330/B777/B787 (even older B767)
Some may argue if legroom is the same, IFE is there and same meals are served on all the planes - it doesn’t matter.
Maybe I’m wrong and it’s just a silly stereotype that wide body jet is better? 🤷🏽♂️
@@samroy5967 That’s exactly what it is. When the 747 came out it offered luxury amenities like lounges (on the plane) and a quieter flight than the old 707s and DC-8s, but today the narrow bodies are just as comfortable (or uncomfortable, depending on your outlook) as a wide body. The only time when it matters is if you’re looking for award space to fly on points. Wide bodies have far more seats, so more opportunities for awards.
