So Austin. Just want to let you know. I spent 4 hour roaming before getting kiradon. I used your jump spot. It was a good time. Just wanted to let you know. There at least one person who appreciate you spending all that time walking around the map!
There is a crud ton of other off limit places that I've gotten to, without my ride pokemon
amazing to hear. I love how its like the SMALLEST hurtle that if you know how to overcome, you can go anywhere... almost like it was intentional :)
I did this and lost a battle a trainer.. After going to the school, raids were permanently disabled and I could not play with my GF who did not do that. I had to restart
I did the exact same thing lmao, caught about 60 pokemon before the urge to get items I couldn't reach was too strong
I used that trick to get over and level up my Magikarp to Gyarados had my route 1 team into the 20's and had a Scyther before I even got to school for the first day lol.
Whoever I was trading with last night named "dark" that caught on and traded almost every exclusive that I needed after I spent 3 hours getting down to larvitar and we finished everything else out in 15 minutes I hope this finds you. You for real the 🐐

I LOVE that pokemon communities around the world are willing to be this nice and specific with each other. It truly makes Pokedex filling and overall collecting a dream come true.
Yeah. Not specific enough. People trade the exact same pokemon you’re trying to trade on both trade codes. Have a brother and friend with scarlet and I have violet so it’s 3million times easier to trade like that

I used the starter codes yesterday (a year after) and got my Fuecoco and Sprigatito no problem. Props to Austin John and the community.
Glad it works getting Fuecoco and Sprigatitio, but no-one seems to have Quaxly 😂 been trying for a couple hours now

Anyone wanting the trade evolutions:
It seems evolution trades are using the dex # of the unevolved form twice. I managed to get a Scyther to Scizor using the code 0260 0260, and a Slowpoke to Slowking with code 0324 0324. That said, there isn't many people doing the dex trades at the moment and it took me a couple times of "could not find a link partner" before it finally linked me with someone for both of those trades.

I feel like they should've kept the GTS. It was such a great system and could've worked especially well for newer generations.

Yeah, until people started flooding the GTS with impossible trades.
But still, the GTS is waaaay better than the system we currently have.

For those wondering, yes this still works a year later, though it's somewhat frustrating at times. I was able to get Scizor, Slowking, the other starters and all the paradox version exclusives in about 90 minutes (with short breaks).
Trading my fuecoco for Quaxly was interesting though, I got offered about 10 other fuecoco's, a Magnezone, a Salamence, a Charmander, a Sprigatito (honest mistake?) and a few other things and dropouts before finally getting one. Also I had to retry for Scizor for maybe 15-20 minutes - the bug apparently isn't that popular. So be prepared for those kind of things happening. But yeah, it (mostly) still works!
LOL, I'm currently trying Sprigatito and keep getting offered other Sprigatitos
It makes sense to do it this way. The objective is to get people informed so they can use it and spread the message to everyone else. It's a brilliant tactic.
It might seem like a small thing but even the screenshotable formats of your tables show how much you care about the info you put out for us. Huge fan and forever grateful for your channel!

(i'm focusing on playing my scarlet version game for now, my violet will be in a few more days from now on) my scarlet game dex is very close to 400 ! (392/400) I just need to farm candies by doing tera raids then I just need to fully evolve these 5 : Gulpin, Misdreavus (I already have another dusk stone, I just want her before evolve to learn a few specific moves before using it on her.), Clawncher, bagon and dreepy. oh then after that I will just need to finish collecting my 999 gimighoul's coins then evolve my own mimic xD . again thank you very much john and all the people playing SV ! I hope you all finishes your own pokedexe's too ! good luck !

Austin, I've said this before but if it weren't for your videos I wouldn't have gotten so in depth into Pokémon as I have up to this point. I don't think I've seen anyone as dedicated as you when it comes to making the Pokémon experience as fun and as accessible to old and new players and for that I have the outmost respect for you and your content! Keep up the good work, you'll have my outmost support every step of the way!

The codes for trade evos are similar. Put the dex number for the pre-evolution twice. Glad to find there is also codes for version exclusives.
Please note that right now violet is overwhelmingly more popular we need to get more scarlet players
I've been having this problem as well I've traded for at least 1 hour total and only gotten 3 Scarlet exclusives
I’ve been trying to trade for ground zero Pokémon from violet and I can’t trade for anything other than normal Pokémon, can’t get starters or violet paradox. I’m playing Scarlett.

This is amazing! The only problem I'm having is with the evolution items for Armarouge and Ceruledge. I keep getting linked to people with those Pokémon, and not random Pokémon with the items.
Only finished the game last night. This is pretty genius regarding the link codes. Always seems to be someone looking for the same trade. Getting a lot of people wanting to trade feucoco when that's what I want to trade for the water starter but I'll keep trying!
This helped me immensely and I was able to get all the exclusives within a couple hours. Yes it’s going to take awhile but it works. Big shoutout to Mavf (might have misspelled it) who traded every paradox pokemon with me. Thanks for another great vid! A little tip I’ll give is to not immediately cancel the trade as soon as you have what you need. Chances are, the person you’re trading with needs additional exclusive Pokémon as well.
The first five non-repeat pokemon in a box which aren't registered in your trade partner's dex also glow and bounce, so if you put all your exclusives in a separate box it's easy to see what they still need to make this more likely.

This is SO helpful! I really wish the "holding armor" code was different from the "Armarouge - Ceruledge" code, though, I've been through about 40 people trying to trade the actual pokemon instead of the armor.

Im working on farming herba mysticas so i came looking for a video on that. Found this... When he mentioned the starters i face palmed. Two weeks ago I spent hours surprise trading to get the other two starters. Got some other good trades but could have saved a lot of time. I was about to reach out to a group on discord for version exclusives but thankfully i found this. I wish i didnt miss this a month ago. Im usually up to date on vids.

Quaxly was the more difficult one to get, once you get one breed it and send 20-30 back out, should help balance out the initial starter choices
Once I get one, I'm going to breed a bunch and send them out there
I feel you 30+ trade partners and still no Quaxly
i did not get one at all so if you have a spare one that be great

Going through the starters I had to reject a lot of fuecocos but all the exclusives were pretty much first try

I propose that once we get one of these hard-to-find scarlet exclusives we should breed one, and trade like two more. Just to help balance out the amount of people with violet. Obviously excluding the ones that aren’t breedable, but definitely not excluding quaxley

So I’m late, I just started the game last week. But this was SO. EASY! I had a few people go back and forth but within 5 minutes I had a Fuecoco and a Japanese Ditto!!! Thanks for these link codes. Was a huge help.
Bit of a note if you are using link trade it will actually tell you what Pokemon your partner does not have. The Pokemon that they do not have will light up and start bouncing

@@rq8045 in your box when you go to trade someone Pokémon that they do not have registered in their Pokedex will show up with a light behind them and bouncing
Do not do this. I have all 3 and I'm trying to spread quaxly around. And alot of people are just quitting because they assume I'm trading a fire croc. Be patient and wait. It could pay off.

A year later and I was able to get the last 2 paradox mons for my dex. I was shocked. I thought at the very least if it was going to work it would take a bit to match up with what I needed... nope, took all of 10 minutes. Many thanks @AustinJohnPlays !!

I think there should be an updated code system where there’s 2 codes for every Pokémon like you did with the starters because people are only typing what they have on scarlet for what they want on violet so it’s always a double, but with the starters you can see what people want and type what you have as the code, but for others it’s only 1 code
Maybe switch the numbers around, first the one you offer then the one you need

It's nice how specific trade codes for trading starters you haven't obtained/version exclusives exist so you can complete your Pokédex. Gotta give props to you and Game Freak. Wish this method existed in Sword & Shield.

can i just say, this guide in particular is going to be so SO helpful for completing my dex in the (hopefully near) future. i watch all of the guides you post for the games i get but your recent scarlet and violet guides have been especially amazing for my first play through
