- 2019 Yamaha Bolt Biltwell Handlebar Install. In this video I will be installing Biltwell Black Keystone Handlebars along with Vans Red Waffle Grips. I have never worked on a Yamaha before so I discovered a few things along the way as you will notice in the video. This install is definitely easier than when I installed handlebars on my street glide. #yamahabolt #howto #biltwell #sinisterclutch

I replaced my bolt’s handlebar into biltwell with following your video thank you so much!
-huge respect from korea
Awesome! Glad the video helped. I appreciate you watching and commenting. Take care and enjoy the ride 🤙✌️
Thank you, thank you for this tutorial. I was trying to figure out if I had to unhook the cables from the cam. You've clearly shown that it comes as one whole unit. Thanks for this!
Appreciate you watching and glad it helped. Take care and enjoy the ride ✌️
Thank you! i love the step by step instructions, i just got mine today, i’m literally watching this while installing it lol. keep it up man! 🍻
Glad it helps! I always try to put as much detail in my videos as I can. Thanks for commenting. Take care✌️
Another great tutorial with great tips. I use carburetor cleaner as well to remove grips, works like a champ. love the Van's grips! Great job. Eric
Thanks 👍. Yes it does and thanks for the support. Always appreciated Eric!
Awesome info. Diggin' the Red vans grips !
Appreciate it and thanks for watching 🤘✌️
New bars look awesome. Great step by step for those having a Bolt. Ride safe Randy.👊👍🇺🇸
Thanks Rick! Appreciate all the support. Take care and enjoy the ride🤙👊💯
Another awesome install Randy, that girl should be pretty happy with the new bar's brother💯👊🏽😎
Yeah definitely more comfortable for her!
A question or 2 on this install. My instrument gauge has been moved forward on the front side of the bars. Would these bars obstruct the view of the gauge? Also, do these bars (keystone) facilitate a more comfortable riding position? They certainly look cool!
No it shouldn’t obstruct the view of your gauges. Yes the handlebars will provide a more comfortable riding position but that also depends on the individual.
@@SinisterClutch so, the 1" slotted bars will fit 2017 RSpec bolt without having to drill holes or cutting the little nubs off?
@@danhaymoresunitedkaratestu5832 Correct there is no difference between the 2019 in the video and your 2017 Bolt R Spec when it comes to the handlebars. According to Biltwell those slots are for the switch house piece that sticks in the hole of the stock handlebars. I installed these for a friend and she didn’t want the bars with the slots. I didn’t ask why but I wonder if the slots are too big.
Nicely done. They look so much better than the stock bars.
Yes they do! Hopefully more comfortable too.
Congrats on crossing that 1k subs SC. New bars on the Bolt look awesome. Great thorough install walk through 👍
Thanks! It took some time but finally got to the 1K. Appreciate you watching and all the support brother. Take care and enjoy the ride
Nice job man! just got the same bars, cant wait to install it, thanks for the manual!
Hope it helps. Appreciate you watching 🤙🤙
Hey bro thanks for the video .. I changed my handle bars too and now some reason bike won't start .. I tried putting new batteries wont start ... need ur help ..
Retrace your steps with the handle bar change. Check your fuses. There was some wires from my video that needed plugged back in but shouldn’t keep the bike from starting.
Hey do you have links for a good adjustable levers that will work on the 2017 bolt? I just got a bike and the brake and clutch levers are way too big for my hand. Very uncomfortable.

Hey man good job! Looks great. I plan on getting some bars from dean speed about 10-12” on height. I know I’m gonna have to replace clutch and brake cables but for the light and turn signals how far do those extend?
I assume you mean the plugs I mention in the video? Yes those need extended because there is little slack. Appreciate you watching
Hi, great job 👏👏👏 . I have a question: if i change factory handlebar on my Yamaha Bolt to 10 inch handlebar, have i need to change Gas/Clutch/Brake cables and electric cables? Or second question how many inches handlebar can install without changing any cables? Thanks alot
I don't think you can go up farther than the 5 inch Biltwell bars I installed. There was just enough slack in the cables to turn left and right without issues. If you go with 10 inch handlebars you definitely need to extend the cables. Hope this helps and let me know if you have more questions✌🤘
@@SinisterClutch i understood, Thanks alot ✌️✌️✌️ if i need anything i will ask you to help Thanks alot 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thanks, man, very helpful!
Appreciate you watching ✌️
Will the 7/8 ones work on a Yamaha bolt R Spec or do they have to be 1inch ?
That’s correct if you use the OEM risers. If I remember correctly the C-Spec has 7/8” bars. So if you already have 7/8” handlebars then you have to change the risers. I personally recommend the 1” handlebars. Hope this helps 🤙
Should I order a smooth Bar or a Slotted Bar?? The stock bar is slotted.
The ones I installed were smooth. It’s really preference. But that was the owner of the bikes choice. I had to modify the switch control housing but it works with smooth. To avoid modifications go with slotted.
Amazing. Finally a video where it shows how high one could get without changing the cables and hoses. But I still have one question though: is thar 5 inches bar (significantly) taller than the stock one? Cheers!
I wouldn't say it is a huge difference but definitely noticeable and more comfortable per the owners opinion.
You think these will work with a 2014 Yamaha V Star 950 Tourer?
I believe you need the 7/8". Check out the link......www.biltwellinc.com/collections/7-8-bars/products/keystone-7-8
@@SinisterClutch Thank you
Did you have to adjust throttle cables at all?
No not with the Biltwell handlebars
@@SinisterClutch so it snaps back as it should? I replaced bars exactly like the bit well but mine doesn't snap back right away I've adjusted both cable and not much different
@@eneffgaming7429 Correct I didn’t extend anything. I adjusted the cables a little but it’s all OEM. What issue are you having?
I need to take you my Fatboy Lo so you can install my bars! Great job!
😂It’s definitely time to put them on🤙
well done man! looks good !
Appreciate it! I saw you got the chance to ride with SaddleTramp. Man you are all over these days. Safe travels🤘🤙👊💯
@@SinisterClutch he's my guy! i try and ride around when it permits lol
Congratulation on subs
Thanks! It took a lot of time and grinding out the videos but so thankful for all the support. Appreciate it Larry💯👊🤘🤙
So SC, .... If I got the Vid right and your wording correct..... adding 2 inch riser posts to my bolt is going to leave me plenty of slack in the cables and brake line, ( rack to rack) ??. I had ordered a couple of 2 inch riser posts from my local 2 years ago and then said No to the idea because I had figured that I would need to install new throttle cables, and the bar would be over top of the speedo, etc... The only thing I will need to get is the Koso Gauge realignment bracket so that the gauge is on top-of or in front-of the bar rather than under it. (
Are you using the stock handlebars? If so then yes.
So didn’t have change brake?
Nope not with those handlebars
@@SinisterClutch the handlebars imma get are 6inch u think I’ll be good or extend the wires? Lol
@@PillowheadCreations It’ll be tight but worth trying. You may be able to swing it.
Wow, reusable zip ties, first time I've seen those. They, the new bars, look really nice on that Bolt. Are you now going to ride that one to VAMM? Hahahaha.
No I don’t own it. Just doing upgrades for a young lady. I won’t make it to VAMM this year unfortunately. Hope y’all have a great time. Take care David.
@@SinisterClutch That's nice of you, sir. Not making it to VAMM? That is too bad, I was looking forward to riding with y'all again. I hope everything is OK.
Are this the XL version
No it is the standard size
@@SinisterClutch thank you. I bought the XL size and should have checked but now I need to change the wires :(
Any advice ? Your video was so helpful. It was a error on my side.
@@JayJfrommontana The install should be the same except for the longer brake and clutch cables. Unfortunately there is not much slack. I appreciate you watching and happy to answer any questions.
@@SinisterClutch Do you have any videos regarding how to put in a new clutch and break cable.
Those two where the ones that were short as you said.
Do I need to take off the gas tank to change the wires?
I am sorry for the nub questions. I am trying to do everything myself. My bikes a 2021 bolt Rspec.
@@JayJfrommontana No don’t take off the gas tank. The brake lines will travel down to the brake caliber. The clutch cable will be exposed also back to the engine. Let me see what I can find for you for a video.
👍
Thanks Darren. Always appreciated brother🤙
Noice
Appreciate it and thanks for watching🤙
@@SinisterClutch how’s the comfortability compared to the stock bars?
@@Youwatchlater Much better according to the owner. I will mention you want to consider changing the stock riser bushings to avoid any vibration. In this case the owner went with a Handlebar Hardmount Kit from 310parts.
310parts.bigcartel.com/product/handlebar-hardmount-kit. I changed those later because the owner said no to changing the bushings. But that being said the vibration is gone with the kit.
@@SinisterClutch thanks for the info! It’s awesome to see mods done to such a good bike
@@Youwatchlater Appreciate you watching 💯🤘🤙
Is this a r spec?
No it’s not
@@SinisterClutch is the only difference the suspension?
@@fearandloathinginamerica That and a few cosmetic things like seat, wheels, mirrors etc
