63 year old GW rider here, I really enjoy your videos and the way you guys present yourself. You guys really know motorcycles and it shows. Keep those videos coming, I’ll watch them. Good job guys, you are a very positive example of the motorcycle enthusiast.
I live in Louisiana and I'm gonna come to Pennsylvania to buy a bike from SRK Cycles and ride it back home and record my ride home.
What part in louisiana?
Gretna, LA. About 10 minutes south of New Orleans, LA.
That’s goated, I’m from Port Sulphur
@@ericphillips6376 I'm an hour south of Monroe
I'm from Bon Temps
Xsr700 is my first motorcycle and I am loving it! Owned it since March and haven't regretted the choice one bit!
Hey man, how’d it go with the 700 after a year? I’m thinking of getting one as a first bike
@@joeschmoe2697 I've actually had it for a little over 2 years now. Awesome first bike! Very torquey for a beginner at first, but just mind your throttle as much as you can at first, and you will be fine. After 2 years, I've been ready to upgrade my bike to something faster, but it's still an awesome bike
How much did you pay for insurance given that it was your first bike? I’m planing on getting one as my first bike this fall.
Definitely a nice bike. Not as much of a “cafe” style as it could be! Looks fun. Ride safe.
Is that what you say to people instead of "bye", "take care", "have a good one", "see you next week"?
"Ride safe" ?
How about giving it a cooler touch: "Ride on". "Ride easy". "Ride away". "Ride". "Ride low". "Ride high". "Ride the night". "Ride with God". "Ride the wind". "Ride the grind". "Ride the fight". "Ride the red wave." "Ride recondite"
Dude this is a modern retro, not at all a cafe racer..
It can be a cafe racer if you modify it a bit..
Exactly
but it's not a cafe racer ... its a retro. Slap some drop handlebars or clip-ons on it and then we can talk cafe racer ...
have to agree. It's more of a retro standard. Without the drop bars, it's not really a cafe because the seating position is wrong.
One other problem, if you're riding a cafe racer, it's not real unless you're wearing a leather helmet and aviator goggles. :D
@@honkerman74 this is true .. lol 😂🤣
💯 Agree. Definitely no cafe racer
Where it the cafe cowl? Hmm
For me it is about the looks but also nostalgia. My dad had an '80 XS400 he bought brand new. He rode it, both my brothers rode it and eventually it came down to me and I rode it for about six years from '99 to about '05. Best time in my life and I'm finally in a position where I can get another bike. Not long ago I found out Yamaha continued the XS series and I'm absolutely ecstatic to get my hands on a new and improved XS.
My dad had a Park Avenue. Mom had a Buick Century. I can't ride motorcycles. But I'm going to try and learn.
I’m extremely happy with my XSR700. It’s a great around town cruiser or commuter but with plenty of power without being bananas like the 900. Also the CP2 just sounds amazing with an exhaust. I have the Akrapovic Titanium borrowed from the FZ on mine and with the baffle out it’s intoxicating.
Have you the option of putting bags on it and touring?
I just bought one. Got shipped this week waiting on the dealer to get it and assemble it. I'm excited.
so awesome! - do you think I can get away with this as a beginner rider/owner?
@@omariwest9068 I'm beginner too and looking to buy something . I'm looking to test ride xsr700, sv650 , triumph speed 400 , will make a decision afterwards
"No bananas. All intoxicating." Is that the company line for this bike? I may have to test ride one. Thanks for perking my interest.
Bought this exact bike last month. Absolutely love it.
How's it holding up man?
The man asked you a question.
I wish your shop was still open! 😭 I got into bikes at the wrong time when your shop closed 😭 Prayerfully, I will have my first bike soon by Gods grace 🙌🏼
Almost reminds me of the 650 Yamaha I rode back in the 70's. Even similar in the tank color scheme. I'm not crazy about the looks of the headlight and the speedometer but I could live with it.
It has a ton of aftermarket parts and it’s easily customizable so it’s pretty easy to swap out parts; there are so many awesome builds of this bike out there, from scramblers to sport versions
Wow, really cool bike; I wish these things were around, back when I still rode street bikes. I’ve always been a Yamaha enduro fan, it’s great to see them making a cafe racer with tons of style.
Why is he comparing a classic Austin to a Miata i thought he was gonna say a 240z or a Toyota 2000gt would have been more suitable lol
Funny. Yeah, that one sorta through me for a loop, too. He has to be sarcastic, on this point. Or crazy....
Its because the Miata was specifically made to be a "British sports car" and it did it better than us brits did
That was the point I stopped watching
@@project_adderall4139 L
Miata is spot on. Mazda’s target for the Miata was the Lotus Elan. Arguably one of the best sports cars ever made. It even looks like an Elan. Mazda said they used the Elan as their target when they first created the Miata because they saw it as the quintessential British sports car. As well as the best handling. So, I guess technically he should have shown an Elan instead of an Austin Healy first.
The original British Café Racers were just modified road bikes to race from one cafe or set destination to another.
I’m waiting for the XSR1000 with that wonderful sounding crossplane four. If it is ever made.
I have a 2016 XSR 900 and I love it. I got it after watching your video a while back
I've watched too many videos.. as he attempts the wheelie, I'm thinking to myself, "there's usually cops over that bridge, Sean."
Good thing the wheelie didn't work out.
That crossplane crank accompanied with an upgraded exhaust is music to my ears.
i bought one a year ago and still love it!
I owned this bike and I absolutely love it!!!
I don't want another bike, this has everything I want.
Is good for two pasengrrs
Still like the bike. Or traded it in for a Lincoln Town Car.
Those gloves look so awesome!!
Before you go buy a cafe racer, watch Sean as he rides a bike designed by a guy who may have seen a picture of a cafe racer once.
Yep it's def not a cafe. Kinda reminds me of those weird Moto Guzzi. Can't remember the model though.
Hes the type of guy who abused drugs, found god, and now needs to drill into everyone's head because he can stay clean.
Tries to do wheelie...cop sitting behind hill...thats my luck
Where's the cop??
I see a white VW Jetta with roof racks lol.
Would have fooled a lot of people.

My brother in Christ Jesus, if I bought every bike that you made a video on with the title "Why you have to have, buy or need this bike" I'd need a garage twice the size as Jay "the chin" Leno's garage.
Can’t wait for you to ride and review Kawasexy Z900rs, either standard or cafe. Great tribute to the “The New York Steak,” Z1 from 1972. Premium fit and finish, comfort and handling, exhaust note, and fun, smooth 4 cylinder torque and buzz. You would not be disappointed!
I actually wanted to rent a Tracer 7 lately, ended up with a XSR. Brilliant, fun bike! It was a blast! :)
How is the XSR? I love how it looks and want
@@Illness.og. Great fun! Nice design with the retro touch, manoeuvrable lightweight, sporty and agile like hell, and one of the best 700cc engines on top. Many criticise the "spongy" suspension - I'm a beginner (!) rider though and had no problems with it. 🤷♂️
(But hey, there are many people these days who simply expect and want to much for the price - and some who seem to have won their license in the lottery.) 🙃
@@Illness.og. I bought the Tracer 7 GT though as you can see in my profile pic, since I wanted a bit more touring capabilities through the windshield, USB port and side panniers.
Oh man I want one, but one issue for me is that it’s a tall ass bike. Im 5’5 maybe 5’6 this bike is tall. Maybe too tall I don’t want something I will struggle at lights or stops with having to constantly lean over excessively just to reach the ground lol. :/
I've owned one for 2 years and I've had enough of it. Engine is great, so the new R7 should be a brilliant bike. Riding this bike is like riding a space hopper, it is way way too soft, with only preload adjustment on the rear, can't seem to get happy with it. I love the way it looks, and as a commuter it's pretty good, but bars are too wude and too high meaning the front us slways too light. I'm not prepared to spend lots of money to try and sort the suspension out so it's time for a Honda again.
Do love my Hondas 👍
Contact the number🖕above something special for you Text Admin you won a prize!!.
I feel ya ! Did u ever go back and get that Honda? I'm curious what model your interested in. If the used marked wasn't so crazy I'd get 08-09 CBR1000RR. I'm not into these neo-retros. I had a z1000 back in 04 and I dumped so much money into it. I've had 2 bikes stolen from me so I'm on an 03 Bandit 1200s and I can't stand the half fairing thing. I just needed a commuter/tourer but I miss FI. I'd take an 02-03 F4I any day right now but the prices are insane!
Just saw this, I got a 2020 siting outside bought it sep 20. Put on 2890 miles on it. It's Nov 5th or 6th. I don't know other bikes. That said this thing is amazing.
Luv the energy first few mins!!! Woohoo 🙌
Yeah I'd like to walk into a bar being this guy. Just for one freaking week. Must be nice.
this better than a Thruxton.. yea right.. still, enjoyable vid!
@@bmeenan that is true, but to me, the thruxton looks are worth it. anyway, my comment was targeted at the "XSR700 is the BEST cafe bike ever made" statement. that's a bit of a stretch. and by "a bit", i mean a landslide.
Triumphs have no power and suck
Way more fun than Thruxton lol
He's never shy on using a superlative or 5. Everything is the best or the worst, the fastest, the maddest, etc. Even things like normal mistakes are "the worst mistake I ever made" or "the worst bike I ever sold" and there's probably at least 4 of the same bests or worsts or whatevers on his bikes and Beards channel. Basically it's "click this link" bait and he's not shy in doing it but why not if it works, which it seems to as the channel is certainly doing well for a 3 year old channel that only does 1 video a week. Just wish they'd do "The most videos" or at least make more videos for the B&B channel.
@@mistreku Are you saying he dines on the down-low with Mr. Yamaha Ichiro?
Looks good when your in the saddle but not from the side. Take issue with this bike being called a cafe racer, really more standard or naked bike.

I hope that austin healey miata thing was a joke

It doesn't exactly fill me with confidence to his judgement in a review video...
@@Chowen1191 it’s not a review it’s an advertisement.
As a previous owner of LBC's (Little British Cars) and a fantastic 2001 Miata LS NB2, I consider them to be apple vs orange. The Miata was actually a copy of the Lotus Elan (at least, the first gen Miata was) and should not be compared to the AH 3000. I LOVE all Brit sports cars. I LOVE the first two gen's of the Miata. It's OK to love both. That being said, the quality of the Miata was hundreds of times better than the Brit cars. If I wasn't working on my British cars, it meant I wasn't driving them. By "working on", I mean repairing.
My Miata had 150K miles on it when I sold it and it never needed a repair, never leaked, never burned oil. Even the exhaust was still original. The only reason I sold it was it got too small for me now that I'm in my 70's. When I'm not on my Sportster, I'm in my truck or my SUV.

Good Content! God bless you!
Seriously ,you think an Austin Healey is a "horrible car"?
Suppose that explains why you think this bike is a " cafe racer" .
Then he compared it with a car made 3 decades later and not half as pretty, granted the MX-5 is a modern classic. This has to be trolling right?
And what about actual modern British sports cars designed by the likes of Aston Martin, Jaguar, McLaren....
@vic vapor Don`t remember the Healey being unreliable. It was a big engined ,fairly simple thing.
Later stuff ,getting into the `70s ,like TR7`s and the Stag and any number of Jags were thrown together as poorly as the BSA/Triumphs of that same era.
Basically the death throes of a failing industry.
@vic vapor One of my teachers had a TR6 , it was a great car.
Then they replaced it with that awful TR7.
I couldn`t understand it then.
Now I realise it was part of some huge scheme to destroy British industry.
It worked.
@vic vapor And it ain`t over yet.
These 40 years past they chased me out of the mines, through the shipyards and 20 years I`ve been hiding in the ever shrinking steel industry .Soon not a blast furnace left .
Maybe I`ll make it , just another few years.
I`ll be ok.
I feel sorry for those poor people at Triumph who just lost their jobs as the last manufacturing goes to Thailand.
What does a 35 year old machinist do to fill his next 30 years?
Hi, what would you pick please between this and xsr900, I ride in city 80% and on weekend on some twisty road 20%, I'm 6ft 200lb and I may do some quick ride 2up (1h) from time to time. I want to keep it for longterm as the only bike in my garage, that is why I'm not sure for the xsr700 but at the same time I like the cruising style on its engine. Thanks for ur help much appreciated and God bless🙏
I just sat on an XSR 700 and it was love at first sight. I was going to go CFMoto, but this thing is so damn beautiful.
Chinese bike ? Pfft, Yamaha rules !
I have the 2020 XSR900 and I have to ride in the city a lot. It gets hot, it really needs to breathe so if you’re a city rider, I’m not sure I would suggest this. Long rides, it’s a great bike!

There is a great kit for the XSR 900 that makes it look like an old LC, look up LC 900 and there is a great video
I bought my first bike 🏍 in 80’s Yamaha 100 CC awesome bike 🏍
I'm interested in buying the Yahama SCR because I'm looking for a dual sport for medium trails and I'm not very tall so it's a good hight for me. Do you or anyone in the comments have any thoughts on it? I'd rather get the Triumph version but it's quite a bit more expensive.
The Husqvarna Vidpillen 701 is IMHO a better cafe racer. It is lighter, nimbler and is powered by the biggest massproduced 1 cylinder 4 stroke so far. :)
Sean hey man you being the fairly savvy businessman as you are im surprised you havent tried to open up a second dealership somewhere in the south like florida. It would open you up to more year round riders, a larger supply of motorcycles to choose from that also dont receive nearly as much rust or corrosive damage as they do in the north. Shipping bikes would probably become half the cost to you as well. Plus then you know long walks on the beach with ur honda trail 90.
Well we ship all over the country from our one location
kind of been tossing around the xsr900 vs the xsr700 in my head for a while.
I would say in stock form it's a retro naked, not a cafe racer imho. However, add the seat cowl and lower bars and then it is more cafe racer
I love the ox blood 508’s. Would be killer with my Vans
my first bike, 2019 xsr700, I freaking love this bike, have a full system Yoshimura exhaust, K&N air filter and flashed ECU, puig levers, with a bunch of cosmetic upgrades, I cant recommend it more, I got it out the door with 7.2k, that said its not a cafe racer, it has a standard seat position, higher handlebars, but it is easily modified to be a full on cafe racer, scrambler or brat style, its a vintage retro modern bike

Absolutely love Cafe bikes
How do you feel about the Benelli Leoncino? Thanks. Happy Easter. God Bless.
I test road this and the xsr900. Didn't like them simply because the seat feels squared off and doesn't feel natural like the more rounded off seats on the mt-07 and mt-09. Also the footpegs kept slamming into the inside of my legs when I put my feet down at a stop. They're in a terrible spot. I've never had that happen on any other bike.
So confusing when the MT series is called FZ in the US.. Confuses the crap out of a swede :P
i think they used to try to align it with the FZ/FZS/FZN series available in Asia, which shares the similar bug head styled headlights. I have the latest FZS-150 and it looks like a mini FZ-07. But they're slowly moving away from the FZ branding to MT, as they decide to align towards a more robotic head design in the MT series
Seriously, I just bought a Yamaha mt 07. I cruise at 80 mph and it's not even breaking a sweat. But that seems pretty normal considering top speed is north of 130 mph.

Yes, this is true. I own an XSR700 and learned to ride on an MT07. Your legs are more bent on the MT07.
Just watch this last week and went it tried a new xsr 700 2022 and ordered a new 2023 model
This is more a "retro" than a "cafe racer" but also the 2019 and up Honda CB650R would like to have a say in this discussion. Inline 4 > Parallel Twin
Especially the way they tuned the I4 in the cb650r. Plenty of low end so you don't miss the twin, yet always knowing there's a whole other beast if you rev it past 6k rpms. 🤘
But is it retro though? To me its an odd styled naked bake (which it is)
Im hard pressed to find the retro in this bike.. its to modern (not really a bad thing) to be called retro. I dont think buyers of a MGV7, Bonnie or W800 will have this eyesore on their shortlist also
Honda is not that much fun to ride, as it has it's top power and torque number further up the rev range, I love my XSR 700 and would not trade it for CB650, but I undertand that others may have a different opinion.
@@odbytkonia1649 alright well I will counter with the 2019 CB1000R that has plenty of low end torque. I current have a 2012 and that has power all over.

Hold my spot while I think of something crafty to say!
what does a slipper clutch do? Is it like a Rekluese clutch?
Like xsr900 with a few mods/ refinements. Would fit a better headlamp ie bigger and not such a deep bowl
I'm sure it is better, but it doesn't look better that the twin Bonneville. I have the Bonneville "America" which is extremely similar to my old Fat Boy. Twice as comfortable as my Ninja (and half as fun).

The XSR is not a cafe racer. It is a neo retro standard. You can convert it to a cafe race very easily though.
Correct. Cafe, scrambler, names just banded around by youtubers.
Can you do another review on the FZ-08? Something more in depth?
Skip it. Find an fz09, or fz07 if top end horsepower isn't super important to you. The fz8 is a heavy slow turning, machine that doesn't make power until your way up in the rev range and its geared to the moon so it takes some time to get there. Doesn't feel playful at all by comparison.
What about the z900rs ?
