Just a thought, you could totally upcycle that table to work in the new kitchen. Pain the legs black and whitewash the top, for example. It’s a dead easy job and would give new life to something with sentimental value. I’m such a soppy soul I’m not sure I could let it go!
I ADORE our tan, fake leather dining chairs! They look really sharp and sleek, but I can wipe them down perfectly!
Finally got 2 minutes to relax and catch up on these videos ! Literally therapy 🥰❤️
Been watching you since just after you had George. Your videos really helped me in my pregnancy and postpartum and your son isn't too much older than mine so it's made it really handy having a fellow mum to learn from and compare notes etc. And I've had my daughter just before you this time! X
I found you not long after George was born and I was going through RUclips watching all the positive birth stories I could find to prepare myself for my labour. Been following you ever since and can't wait for your new arrival and will be telling my sister to watch your birth videos to help prepare her for her arrival in October. Lots of love x x x
Completely agree pack the dummies just incase.. but just so you know if you do breastfeed they recommend avoiding using them if you can for a few days/weeks until you establish a good breastfeeding latch and routine xxx
Id like to say thank you for your channel I discovered you recently as I’m around the same week of pregnancy as you and I’ve watched you nest and talk about essentials and it’s helped me feel so much more prepared for my baby boy ❤
In my son's first week of life I fed him from the breast, from a bottle, from a baby syringe and I pumped. All the things they tell you not to do in the first 6 weeks but you just have to do what you have to do to get through the first initial soreness/milk coming in stage and getting into a rhythm together. I fed until he was 1 year and 3 months. My best advice is to find a local breastfeeding group. You will get so much help, advice and encouragement x x
I'm 23 weeks and loving watching you being ahead of me, helps me know what's coming ❤
Aw love this! Hope you’re doing okay lovely ❤
Your 1st hospital bag video was how I discovered you, watched it last year when I was pregnant with my little girl! Loved it, subscribed and I've watched loads of your videos since, look forward to them! ❤❤
Aw love that! So glad you decided to stick around ❤❤
I had my daughter 8 weeks ago. (2nd time mum, my son is 22months) tip for you: after a few days when the pp bleeding is lighter I highly reccomend swapping to cloth pads! I used cheeky wipes. Stopped me getting sore and were amazing! Wish I had used them from straight away tbh! DissopablePads dried me out too much and I was soo uncomfortable.
Use the peri bottle as you pee as well as to clean up after if you have stitches it was a life savour.
Xx
We got a 4 seater round table from Etsy which is also extendable to fit 6. Has black legs with a wooden top made of old scaffolding. Shop was called brickyard creations x
Thank you for your vlogs Shan! (Great name by the way) I’m 29 weeks and a first time mum so all your postpartum chat helps me so much… so looking forward to your packing hospital bag second time round vlog it’s going to help a gal out who has no clue at the moment 😂 xx
I fed all three of my children for a year each. They had a dummy right from birth and I didn’t have a problem with feeding. It just settled them x
Hey lovely, these vlogs remind me when I was with my toddler, heavy pregnant with my son and we had our kitchen and loft renovation. It was stressful lol! I think round table too like the one Liza prideux has in her kitchen. But don’t buy too quickly until flooring and tiles are done, so you know what space and colour will look like. Be good to see downstairs tour once completed to see the whole transformation 😊 bet you can’t wait to break up from your Mat leave xx
Thank you so much! I think you’re right, need to wait for the flooring to go down ect! I love Liza’s table and that’s deffo some good inspo!
I will deffo be giving a full tour when it’s all finished. Can’t wait!! Xxxx
150% the portable fan is the BEST thing I bought!!!! In hospital in both my births, I've never been so hot in my life!!! But post birth, in the summer, i use it SO much!! Have it in my bag when we're out and at night.
With my daughter I bought a large lucozade - it was for labour but I never had it then. Having it the 3 days I stayed in (c section) was really good :)
Amazing!! Love this! ❤️❤️
Hi Shan, I found your channel when you were pregnant with George as I was searching for what to pack in my hospital bag! Feels like a long time ago now! I would definitely recommend taking nipple cream to the hospital as your nipples can get a bit sore breastfeeding in the beginning (it gets better don’t worry)! I used the Lansinoh lanolin which worked well for me and I was happy to have it! Definitely also get a breastfeeding pillow for when you are back home! So excited for you, such an exciting time for you! X
Looking forward to seeing uou pack your hospital bag again and see how its different to last time. Im expecting my first in august x
Yeah me too haha! I’m sure it will be largely similar to be honest! 🫶🏼 how exciting for you!! ❤
Good luck with your first! Exciting times. I'm also due August but with my third.
@@HollBerry134 thankyou very much X
Have you looked into circular half moon style tables, when you need more seating one side comes up to make the full circle and when you dont one side goes flat against the wall and you’re left with like half a circle shape?
I think they may be called drop leaf style tables, was the first style that popped into my head when you mentioned a circular table x
Some companies also call them ‘butterfly tables’ x
If you're going to try breastfeeding, my MUST have was a haaka. Especially in the first weeks when my bewbs felt so full all the time. Baby feeds on one side, haaka on the other and you can get yourself a little frozen milk stash. Mandela milk bags are the best. I've tried them all XD
Padsicles. I made my own. Boots maternity pads. I poured some witch hazel and water onto it and froze them. They were a game changer.
Thank you so much for the tip! Super helpful! ❤️
The kitchen is looking great! I think it'd be really cool if you put a bench (either built in or moveable) against the wall between the door and freezer. Could have storage inside too! And I vote extendable rectangular table ☺️
Ooh I like this idea a lot! 🙈 thank you!
I am a single mum with 2 little ones - in regards to your dining table, don't get one with a light coloured, wooden top. It will get stained very quickly, or you'll just end up putting a tablecloth on it and covering it anyway. Get something easily wipeable and a darker colour 😊
I’m hoping to maybe get a glass top made for it tbh! Cause any wood will need to be treated and will probs get drawn all over too hahaha! Xxx
❤❤❤ looks after amber day night because her grandparents are holiday s now
When you were talking about the witch hazel and pads and freezer pads I had war flash backs to birth 😂
Good to see you're doing well! Can't wait to see the kitchen all done 😊
Ngl same hahaha! 😅🤣
Also, you could upcycle the table so it's more modern by adding hairpin legs!
We could, but I can’t see us doing that after this renovation I can’t lie 😅😭😮💨
A pregnancy/maternity leave discounts/freebies video would be handy.. I realised today that the bounty packs don’t seem to be the same ones you used to get when I was pregnant last time 😕
Ahh I haven’t even thought about the freebie packs this time, maybe I’ll have a peak! Xxx
Your kitchen is looking good. Just check with your hospital that you can take in your own plug adapter . I work in a hospital and we don’t allow patients to bring them in as it’s a fire hazard xx
goerge looks sooooo cute and he is grown so much
He’s getting big for sure haha! 😅also, only cute when he wants something 🙈
@@HomeWithShan 😛😛😛😛😛😛😛
Could do with a ‘how to dress large baby bump’ video 😊 I am 31 weeks now and massive. Compared from my previous pregnancy and I am as big as I was at 39 weeks with my previously pregnancy!! 😱
Are you nervous to go through it all again? Or just me 😬 x
I bought a handheld fan, gave birth on a 30degree day and with all the contractions etc I completely forgot about the fan till I got on the ward after🙈😢
Oh no!!! Fingers crossed I can remember it haha!
What about a slimline island in the kitchen as there looks like there would be room and can be used for eating ect with chairs
We would deffo need a dining table though with kids / having people over - if we had extended then this would have been an option for sure! Xxx
Faux leather cracks just get real leather or get a fabric that’s treated with crypton or Alta they are stain repellent water resistant etc
Oooh this is a good point!! Maybe I’ll start saving my pennies again haha! Xxx
WoW
My midwife said to not use a dummy for like 4/6 weeks if breastfeeding (something like that). I got loads of different types but my daughter hated a dummy. She now uses them as a teether when her teeth hurt 😂 she's almost 18 months
You get so much different advice don’t you! 2 different midwife’s have told me different things🤣😅 we’ll find out I’m sure! Xxx
The midwife on ward gave my daughter a dummy when I went to the toilet to keep her quiet, I was slow walking after emergency c section but still! I was also breastfeeding!
Don’t listen to anyone who says something about not giving them dummy straight away and nipple confusion 😂 if you don’t introduce it early enough, they won’t take it 😂😂😂
I am pregnant with my 5th baby, I have 4 boys already so I did the sneak peek test with this one and it said girl 🤷🏻♀️ really hoping it’s correct lol what camera do you use? I’d love to start vlogging again but I used to use my phone and I had no idea how to edit my videos 🤣 xxx
Hey lovely! Congrats!!
I’m pretty sure if it comes back as girl then it’s pretty accurate (its just when it’s boy that it could have been contaminated with male dna - or at least that’s what I’ve read!)
I use the Sony zv1 - it’s great and I use iMovie to edit my videos on my MacBook xxx
Hey! We went for our 12 week ultrasound today and the lady confirmed it’s a girl 😄 I am actually 12 weeks and 4 days today! Oh great thank you so much! I love watching you btw! I first came across you on your live pregnancy test video with this pregnancy 🥰 I will add you on instagram if that’s ok xxxx
Hey Shan. Where do you get your stripy shirt from please?
Hey! It’s from cupshe! Xxx
Don’t get a round table it will take up too much room. Get an extendy table
See I’m thinking round is the way we’ll go haha, the corners are the problem at the moment I think! Xxx
You are a beautiful mom you have a beautiful belly ❤
How's baby girl coping with all that vape I'm her tiny lungs????
