I can do relate to full kitchen demo and reno. I’m 30 weeks preggo and so ready to not be living out of the make shift kitchen with bathroom wash station. People ask how the baby prepping and nursery is going and I’m like it’s not cause we are trying to have a finished kitchen lol. And I also have a husband doing all the work while working full time. It’s slow progress but worth it in the end
LEGIT! You’ve seen the state of the baby’s nursery 😅🫣 I haven’t even thought about a hospital bag hahaha! Like you say, will be worth it in the end!
Hey I just finished the vid. With your cabinet handles, that kind will catch on your clothes and pockets. Just something to keep in mind. I know my friend has that style and she kinda regrets it. And I had that style at a rental and they were kinda annoying
Full relate to this! I'm 32 weeks, have a toddler and my house isn't quite as in renovation mode as yours - but there's SO many unfinished projects and holes and filler and unpainted walls - it's driving me crazy! I feel like when you're pregnant you just want it all to be organised and clean and neat for baby's arrival!😂 x
Omg YES! It’s a nightmare hahaha, I’m just trying to stay positive and it will all be sooo worth it I’m sure haha! 😅
Oh my gosh you've given me flashbacks to our kitchen extension last year - the makeshift kitchen, washing up in the bath, & being very pregnant! You are FAR more sensible than me though, we started ours when I was 7 months pregnant (due to builder availability) so when I had baby we came home to no kitchen at all, a completely dug out floor & the outside "wall" being just sheets of plywood. Honestly, it was all worth it, you'll appreciate the finished result even more. Best of luck with everything
Ahh this sounds like my worst nightmare - hopefully we won’t be in that situation (if baby girl stays in until her due date haha!) - like you say, it will all be worth it!! We’re already at the running water/cooking facilities back stage so I feel much better 😅xxx
Oh my goodness what a transformation, it’s looking really good 👍 Ash has done amazingly well considering he only has weekends, well done to him. I love the colour you showed on the side of the base unit, you must be so proud of hubby.
Looking forward to seeing the end result, it’s going to be beautiful. So happy for you all, take care lovely xxx
Thank you so much lovely!! It’s coming together so nicely and I’m so proud of him! First big project he’s doing like this and he’s doing so well! 🙈 can’t wait for it all to be complete xxx
I thought my husband was good at DIY but OMG, can I borrow Ash please! 🤣 Seriously though, he is doing an amazing job! I remember from redoing our bathroom in our first house that it is NOT easy! Especially when nothing is straight or level 🙈. Your kitchen will look fantastic when it's finished, you must be so proud of Ash for all he's doing. Finger's crossed its finished before baby girl arrives!
Even though it costs money, I'd recommend a skip over endless tip runs - so much more convenient and will save you a lot of time! And in regard to PGP, definitely try a bump band. I had one for my first and found it did help and they aren't very expensive. Need to dig mine out again over the next few weeks as I expect I'll be needing it again soon. And take advantage of when Ash is home and have some time to yourself in the bath as heat helps too xx
Been in exactly same situation 35+ weeks pregnant and standing in temp kitchen also baby room to be and thinking who will be first me giving birth or my husband finishing kitchen, but just like you said it will be worth it X and being first time mum you know babies need mum and not the room, don't stress yourself over little things X
The doona has one MAJOR floor, it encourages people to leave their baby in the car seat for longer that the recommended time!
Bless you, it's hard when your upside down it going to look lovely when finished I'm very jealous thanks for the up date can't waite to see when finish x
I know it will all be worth it in the end though 🥹🙈xxx
Wow the kitchen is taking shape! Our kitchen still isn’t done and we gutted it last September 😂😂😂 it’s been functional for a while but finding time to do the decorating and tiling is impossible with a little one and around work etc xxx
Ahh wow! I feel you - it really is so hard to get anything done with a little one isn’t it hahaha! Xxx
How exciting! Can’t wait to see it finished. Out of curiosity, how comes the unit where the oven is going is taller than the corner larder etc?
Very good question! I asked the exact same thing, apparently that’s the only option for how they come… not convinced haha!!
It's looking really good!!! You look so well and glowing lol take care 🙂 xxxxx
Aw thank you so much 🥹
Hey lovely, what foundation/ skin tint do you use? It looks lovely! X
As a young girl ur such a inspirational star
I honestly thought you used a Pyrex jug as a mug when you made your cup of tea until you picked it up and I realised it was a mug 😂
Is the Doona heavy to lift to and from the car though? Did you also get the isofix for it, if so did you need to get that separately?
Like it looks lovely 😊
Thank you! Can’t wait to see the doors go on! 🙈
I have an ottomon bed and never ever stick my head under it without holding it because ive heard some horror stories that ottomons can behead people
My first physio appointment / consult for PGB did have treatment and I got a belt from her
Ahh that’s really good to know - thank you! Hopefully I can too! Xxx
❤❤❤
I hated the doona. It's great for a supermarket run, but on pavement/up and down curbs etc it's horrendous.
Yeah that’s fair - I am deffo only thinking of using it when I bio out of the car etc, we have another buggy for proper journeys haha xxx
@HomeWithShan for quick trips I loved it. Especially at the doctors (upstairs office with a 10lb newborn was not fun) something I did love about the doona was the little bag you can buy for it. It's like a diaper bag that clips to the seat. I kept a change of clothes, nappy, wipes etc for emergencies.
