Please consider donating to the Red Cross for Hurricane Helene and Milton Relief! I have started a fundraiser on the sidebar or below the video. We have insurance to help us with our minimal damages on our end, but others weren't so lucky. Give if you are able! xoxoxo
Aleluya, I’m with you! Only Jesus Christ stop the storm
Sue Wolfe- I was born in Miami. We were always told to clean up all of our tubs and fill them. This will give you water for teeth brushing and toilet flusing and dish washing. Fill up mill jugs (cleaned out) for water. Get candles, batteries for flashlights, charge, up phones, etc. Have easy to prepare food: tuna fish, pb&j, nuts, fruit, and non-perishable items. DON'T open the fridge/freezer once the power goes out, to keep the food cold.
A reminder of your WEALTH. It isn't measured in stuff, or square footage, your treasure is found in friendships. And friend who delivers home made cinnamon rolls during a TORNADO watch Tropical Hurricane proves you are the RICHEST of all. Such a beautiful beautiful thing. "It's a Wonderful Life" ~ You are the BEST Lisa!
You are so very talented!!! So glad you had very little damage. I live 25 minutes from Asheville, N.C. The devastation here is so bad. It destroyed parts of Asheville and in the mountains the roads are just gone along with bridges. It is so much worse than what you see on the news. It also covered Tennessee as well. Interstate 40 to Tennessee is closed because two of the lanes beside the river were swept away. Maybe be 1-2 years before it reopens. We were fine, no loss but our little town flooded 😢
I am so glad that you and your family are safe.
What a fascinating video! You struggling with preparation before, during and after the hurricane whilst simultaneously doing your wonderful DIY. Loved seeing the frogs and lizards, the insight into your loyal friendship and lovely family. Wow! You covered a lot.
Thanks dear, you are truly amazing. Best wishes from Wales in the U.K.
Natalee, I am so happy you and your family are ok. I am sending prayers and hugs to everyone in Florida and South Carolina. I see your vision. I think black would look amazing. Everything looks amazing.
Your mantle and cornice are beautiful! I live in New Mexico. We have some pretty strong wind and thunderstorms, but nothing that compares to a hurricane. Thank the good Lord that you are all safe.❤
I am so thankful you were safe. The fact that you just kept building and decorating throughout the storm is wild! I really think Lisa might be a little goofy coming out to delver homemade cinnamon rolls in the dark!! Frogs and lizards not included, the room is gorgeous. I love the wide cornice and that might be exactly what I want to do on the two windows in my French Country bedroom!
I live in Australia and l have seen on our news what our friends in America have been through !! … sending prayers and hugs from Down Under 🐨🇦🇺❤️
❤❤❤
So glad you are all safe! Natalee, you really are incredible. You have absolutely no fear when it comes to projects around your home. You just go right ahead and get it done! What an inspiration you are to all of us viewers. Beautiful, beautiful room. Carpet is perfect. Fireplace is just amazing! And the new cornice is so, so nice. My FAVORITE RUclips lady💕💕💕
So glad you made it through the hurricane. What you did was amazing it looks like a showplace. Can't wait to see what you tackle next.
Glad your family (and the extra creatures) are safe. The living room looks amazing! The rug (Ruggable?) is perfect and I love the ottoman as is. I think once the curtains go up it'll be even more elegant. ❤
Glad that you and your family survived safely from Milton! I was born, grew up, was married and had three kids of my own in Houston, Texas. The only hurricane that I remember was Alicia in fall of 1983, my senior year of high school. I don't remember if my mom did any prepping, but we did have a gas stove. We were without electricity for several weeks, but otherwise were okay. In 1999, my family moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the only thing we've worried about here is fire. After moving to another town north of Santa Fe, we did evacuated once. My family in Houston has been affected by the hurricanes, but I don't know what they do to prep before hand.
You crack me up every time! “One frog marked safe” 😂 The rook turned out gorgeous! And praise God that your family ( and two frogs and one lizard) are safe!
We live in U.K. and have a holiday home in Rotonda West, Port Charlotte. We had some lanai and cage damage, but the inside of the home fared well. We are thankful for so little damage and we send blessings and prayers to those not so lucky who were in the path of Milton 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Wishing you and your family best wishes and happiness. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
So pleased you all are safe love make over it looks fabulous good to hear there wasn't much damage to your home have great weekend ❤❤❤godbless you all
Thank God you are all safe 🙏🙏
So glad you are all safe Natalee you are truly amazing
The cornice board looks amazing same for te fireplace everything looks gorgeous thank you for sharing your ideas ❤😊
Thank you so much! It really means a lot to me 💕
So glad ye were not that badly impacted. I am like you I divert & start cleaning and stuff when crisis is coming. But I really like the valance, I cannot wait to see what curtains you put there. You'll have to do a downstairs tour when you are finished!!
Thank you for your kind words! I’m glad to hear that cleaning helps you cope during tough times. I’ll definitely make sure to share the downstairs tour once everything is ready!
So glad you and your family are safe! The physical items can be fixed.
Thank God you all are ok!
Glad you are all safe😊
The cornice board looks amazing! Love the fireplace and the rug and all the furniture. Honestly I’d leave the base of the coffee table the way it is. Everything doesn’t have to be so matchy matchy, as you well know. I think black will be too heavy looking and black shows dust so easily. Who loves that? Lol! It’s a beautiful coffee table as is. I love all the light airy colors in this room. Gorgeous!
So glad you’re all safe and the damage wasn’t too severe. I love the cornice so much! It looks so beautiful and polished in your living room with your lovely fireplace. I wasn’t sure about the lime wash but adding the rug just makes everything work beautifully together. Can’t wait to see your holiday decor!
I'm so happy that you and your family are safe. Thank God, Oh yeah, for sure painting black on the bottom of your table would really bring everything together .
Nat, so glad you guys made it through the hurricane and tornadoes and flooding! This video was soo awesome. I love to see you build and create. I love love love the fireplace surround, the architectural detail and overhaul of the cornice board, and I so so love your workshop. And all this while you were awaiting Hurricane Milton! Your home is looking soooo beautiful! Take care my friend😘❤️❤️
Glad we survived Milton, sorry for those that had damage's..yes I agree with painting the center of the table black
Your room looks great. I'm glad you made is safe thru Milton.
Beautiful! I’m glad y’all are fine!
I would keep busy, too, as long as the most important items are taken care of. Keep going with the project. I was never in a hurricane but got evacuated twice due to fire. The first time, I was cool and collected, realizing I needed to be better prepared, which I did. The second time, I was ready and had time to be nervous, and I was. That is why I am all for continuing the project to keep the mind busy. I also like to talk about the disaster to assure myself I am ok. I take the Frogs over any other damage to the house to fix. Glad the family made it through.
Your projects turned our beautiful so happy that everything is fine for you and your precious family loved the little frogs I can’t wait till your next video you are the best ❤
Wow that looks sooo good! Greatvjob as always!
Great video!! Everything turned out fantastic!! But most of all, glad you are all safe!!
So beautiful! So happy you survived with no major damage.
Those birds were white ibis. Thank you for sharing your experience. I have ptsd from all the storms in my area - at 66 that’s a lot of storms! I have frogs and lizards every time I bring my plants inside. 😁❤️
SO happy you are safe after the hurricane. Thank you for sharing the real life hurricane scenario with us! Loved you just kept decorating your room through the weather warnings 😅 The room is beautiful!! The rug is perfect. Which color did you get? Gray or cream? I think I want that rug for our room!! The door looks fantastic! Can't wait to see it with drapes.
Thank you so much for your kind words! The limewash is alabaster. Decorating kept my spirits up during the storm!
That is the perfect rug.wonderful job Natalie.❤.
Instead of candles on the tall candlesticks what about a floral arrangement with trailing greenery? Just a thought. Love your content. You inspire me!
I'm happy the hurricane wasn't as destructive in your area. (I saw a video you posted.) 6:12
My cousin lives at Fort Meyers and they were hit hard with water damage at the lower level of their home.
The cornice looks great. I love all the trim. It really has character. Love the rug. Where did you find it? I love those candle sticks. I know you are going to paint. Your fireplace is fantastic. I'm sure you know there is fireproof paint for the box of the fireplace.
Girl, you are just a very gifted person.
🙏 for you and your family❤
You have created such a great channel! I love the crown molding dupe!
You are so fun!! You and your husband are so cute together.
I love the lyme wash!
Your talent amazes me!!
Thanks so much! We're a team. 😊
I kept telling myself, "She edited and posted these recordings. Therefore, she is okay!" The room looks great. Classic elegance.
I am glad you enjoyed the room! It was a bit chaotic! I pray for those not so lucky!
Looks fantastic mate, glad your all safe ❤
Keeping busy is my advice !!
Only Lisa would make and bring you cinnamon rolls in a hurricane. Y'all are too funny. I'm so glad y'all are safe. I was worried about y'all and y'alls families.
Super video !!! You are amazing 👏...very very glad y'all are safe and sound ❤️ . We have tornadoes here in Iowa, nerve-wracking 🫣🥴...Thank you for sharing..😊
I can totally see the base of the ottoman painted black. I love the candle sticks
Your makeover is beautiful! Job well done. Blessings to you and your family!
Your hard work looks great. I really like the 4 chair seating arrangement.
Yeah the back base would look amazing
I am so happy to see you have come through the storm pretty much unscathed❤. The news is a wash with less fortunate people🙏 . ❤️ the 🐸's.
Beautiful makeover. So glad you guys are O.K. And I am SURE your coffee table will look great with whatever you do but I like the current finish. I think it looks nice and soft and on camera and it looks like it pulls that light wood color from the rug. Regardless, it is beautiful and will be, regardless of what you decide to do. ❤
Was also very blessed with very minor fence damage! And never lost power ! I’m just east of Tampa and so much flooding and huge trees down everywhere. That was one scary night! To me, the video didn’t show the lime wash effect on the mantle very clear. Possibly, when you complete the room , you could zoom in or talk about it again?
Thank you! So glad you and your family are safe. 💕 Definitely more of the mantle coming.... I mean, we need to make it festive for the Christmas season!
It's looking great! And the frogs were smart and knew they needed to be inside for shelter!!! LOL Frogs would not bother me. Even the little lizard would have been fine. They won't hurt you at all. Smart to keep busy and not give in to the anxious of the coming storm. Western NC is still digging out and trying to get power, water, food, clothing. It is a disaster, but the community of people who have organized and put together so much to meet the needs is amazing. Truly the community has been the strong support. They have even taken goods in by pack mules on the goat trails to get to people in remote areas. So much was washed away and slammed by thousands of trees from the mountain mud slides and the torrents of water coming down. So many lives lost. They are still in mode of recovering bodies. I pray for them. They are strong, but this was traumatic.
Thank God you are all fine!
I would not paint that ottoman. Maybe it looks different in real life but the color it is looks awesome with that rug. But if course just my opinion, its your house, lol❤
Thank you for your input! It's always great to hear different perspectives on home decor. I appreciate your thoughts on the ottoman and rug!
I have never, not once, ever cut an angle as good as yours. I always buy trim and caulking together as a package. 😂
Ooooooooh my gosh girly it looks so amazing I can’t tell you how proud of you that I am❤️
Consider painting the brick black inside your fireplace. Use high heat paint suitable for grills. It will sharpen up the look of the room and make the fireplace look new again.
I have a strong faith in God. So my way through the “storms in life” is to prepare for the worst and pray. I put my faith in Jesus but the Bible says you are a fool if you don’t put in the work necessary to make your life work.
So glad you only had minimal damage. I hope Lisa and all your friends and family are just as fortunate.
The room is beautiful thanks to your hard work and creative spirit. Looking forward to the holiday season!
Thanks for sharing 🎉
We were praying for you guys. I’m glad you guys are safe. It was so funny the frog and lizard occurrence. I honestly don’t like seeing them. I guess they are running from the hurricane 😅
I love the lime wash!
I love the mantel and the cornice board!!! If you put it up higher can you make your opening appear larger? I know it’s a door so I didn’t know if it would work
Black for sure on the base!
Natalee! I try to stay on the lookout for tornadoes /especially…With a WARNING/ but tend not to just sit for all 45 minutes or so as the warning wanes.
Help I really want to consider buying some of your tools. Really need them!!!
Florida born and raised. I've been through so many hurricanes that I've lost count. The best thing is to have emergency supplies, and listen to local agencies. Evacuate if told to, or if you ore family members have special needs, where loss of power would be detramental to your health. Stay put if you are not in an evacuation zone, so that those who are, have a chance of being able to get out in a timely manner. So many people jump the gun and hit the road. Then the hwy's are so crowded, that traffic comes to a total standstill. Cars will run out of gas, on the road, making even more issues. And don't be like my grandsons... who begged us to tie them to trees during hurricanes when they were younger.
Hi all, My hubby, 2 teenage sons, our golden and me moved to Florida and were welcomed with 3 hurricanes ~ Charlie, Francis & Jean. Honestly I was ready to return home. We are a camping family so I made our largest closet function like a very cozy tent for all of us. I grew up in tornado alley but didn’t know that the knowledge would come in handy with hurricanes. Stores were out of the blue tape all my neighbors were using. Next best (?) thing was duct tape. Don’t do it!! The men in my life tried not to laugh at me since I was a combination camp councilor and a Sunday school teacher constantly praying. Whatever works for you is ok. My thoughts and prayers have been everyone affected by the hurricanes. God bless🙏
In China frogs are considered to be a sign for prosperity ! Good luck to you all !
I remember my husband saying, "God has alway watched over us, so why would he stop now.".
For future reference, to help keep your garage door from being pushed in by the wind, back your car inside your garage so it is against the door.
He candle sticks look great as-is. Mixed metals are fine and its good to not be matchy-matchy. Paint the table base black. The frogs cracked me up. They wanted out of the weather, too. Your fireplace and cornice are gorgeous. Im thankful you made it through the storm safely.😊
My best tip is to remember that God never puts more on us than we can bare
Amen.
Being in Florida almost 6 years now, in Broward Co., we had 3 hurricane's that never hit us. Now in Hillsborough, that hasn't seen a hurricane direct hit in 103 years, we were scared! My mother in memory care came to stay with us for 3 days, 38 hours of which we had no power! The next time we get a storm that immense, I will let mom stay with the Care providers as I can't do the added stress. So, I can't answer in all honesty how I kept calm. To prepare I made sure we had a lot of food that could be cooked on the gas grill, plenty of water and gas for the generator.
Don't live where there are hurricanes. I live in Buffalo, New York, a suburb Amherst, New York. We do however will get an occasional really bad snowstorm❤ Be safe for the hurricane
That looks like a very nice job to turn a horrible fabric pelmet, into a really decent classic one. 👍 I think you did a great job on it - such a significant improvement imho. I feel you with that lime wash paint, it did look awful going on but I think it will settle with two good coats and look much better. Keep going 🤞🤞
FYI I got my Aleah safety glasses and spotted scarf-all the way to the United Kingdom GB and I love them ❤
Thank you
I love Christmas Hermoso y Elegante para compartir ❤️💋🏠🙏 un Beso de Excelente Éxitos de Venezuela ❤️🌹🙏🇻🇪
At least it wasn't snakes and alligators
So true!🤢
Honestly, you look so pretty without the makeup….my opinion!! Stay safe where you’re at!!
Nice living room
Gorgeous
I have a strong faith in Jesus Christ. I always turn on K-Love radio when I'm stressed. I even have it on my phone to listen to when I'm in the hospital.
That’s a great radio station. Good call! Hopefully you start feeling better soon. Still praying for you.
@designedtothenines it's the only radio station we listen to. Thank you, friend. I appreciate all the prayers and continued prayers. Me too. I'm still having headaches but not as bad.
"A house full of frogs and lizzards"🐸🦎🐸🦎🐸
❤😂😂😂😂❤
Leave white, looks very rich all white
I also live in Florida, and I get through it with prayer and faith in God. We came out ok just last a branch in one tree. I'm sorry but not the Red Cross. I have family in North Carolina and the have received the most help from the Billy Graham foundation Tennessee says the same.
LOL - our daughter shooed frogs and lizards into the garage to make sure they were safe from Milton.
Thank the God Lord above you're all safe. .....Please Don't paint the ottoman! I Love It!
Pray and pray more. God is in charge.
I think that black would be good.
Black will be the way to go.
I am giving to Samaritan’s purse. Prepping for tornado/storms/ possible getting flooded in in Texas. I have personal items I must keep supplied. I keep several 2 Liter bottles of water in the bathrooms to wash and flush. I have a medium size and a small size solar powered generator. Keep all manual tools handy if power goes out. I have a solar/wind up
flashlight and radio. And for SURE!!!! Print out contacts from my electronics that I don’t remember. Tech stuff may die and I won’t have access to any of my phone numbers…. I have quite a few other things, but one of my main deals is the wind up/
solar charging element to charge my phones… I have a little item that’s about the size of a cell phone that is solar, and you can charge all sorts of things with it When the lights go out… Which they frequently do here in Gun barrel City,TX . I like to have several mylar blankets and especially good old regular batteries. …!
PS. Where did you get your miter clips scissors? I got some that were the lower priced items and they will barely cut a toothpick.😂lol!!!
in case of a storm. Continue to take care and God bless you all.!
I have heard really good things about Samaritans Purse. It sounds like you’re really well-prepared for any storm that comes your way! Having all those supplies ready is so important. Stay safe out there in Gun Barrel City! Here's my miter shears: amzn.to/4h9bzkd
I would paint the frame black
Here in Mobile tree frogs love to hide behind my door decorations. 😝
We are in Mobile too. Our covered porch draws birds and sometimes a nest.
@@MourieAnnFeeney That’s our back porch. I don’t mind them as much. Things that jump or scurry freak me out. I’m too high strung. 🤪
Paint it black❤
Put framed art within empty frame
Room do you watch television on? Do you have a family room?
Frogs and lizards are ok in your house. They'll take care of the palmetto bugs and other things that come in.
No thanks. 😮 I can just imagine having a dinner party and a frog or lizard jumps across the table.
@ashleys4652 😂😂😂
🌹❤️
Be careful with your pup and Florida frogs. My dog nearly died from a cane toad.
❤
