Thanks, it goes to show how good those engines are, the old starter motor and the difficulty in starting it was why it was parked up I believe, hopefully it will have a new lease of life👍🏻
Bane of my life, starter motors and solenoids on machines that have been stood a long time, though with Bosch, Lucas or CAV the motor internals are usually heavy duty enough that usually (occasionally a set of brushes) a strip & clean will get them back working again.
Steve, I gave it to my repair guy and he said it was cheaper to replace it, I’ve stripped down Lucas starters( in my younger days) and a quick clean off of the carbon deposits and kept them working
Thanks Peter, yes could do with a clean, we’re glad we got it out of the undergrowth, used it again yesterday and started up no problem with new batteries👍🏻
Obviously this was not in the states. If it were, some toerag would have broken all the windows, stolen anything off the engine they could sell, and then lit the cab on fire. God bless you man.
This happens in the UK also unfortunately😣luckily this machine is off the beaten track and a private farmland yard and out of sight, thanks for viewing👍🏻
The machine had one driver from new, when the business moved away from plant hire to tippers it was just parked up in the corner of the yard, shame to see a 2012 machine parked up
Dont believe everything you read, whatever makes views is what people do. Just say it hasnt run or moved in years and boom, people watch and subscribe. RUclips has gone to hell since its used as a "job" now
We get plenty of rain here, the brambles were really thick running up through the centre of the machine, the engine starting straight away is testimony to the modern engine
I've got to ask, what's a Plant Hire? Sure came back to life without much troubles. I'm guessing the luggage rack on the roof is for the anti vandal panels. I also notice it has the quick detach for the bucket which is nice. Did you check the Air Con to see if it still works? I've seen a lot of equipment and boats that have double solenoids. They will put a smaller primary solenoid close to the starter mounted solenoid to reduce the amount of current going through key switch and voltage drop especially if the key switch is far away from the starter. That way you get proper voltage and current going to the main starter solenoid. Enjoyed watching from the USA.
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it! Have you seen the American Dynahoe video with the 4/53 Detroit? Plant is the generic term used in the UK for construction machinery, so Plant Hire is to advertise the business as in it is available to hire at rates for anybody who requires it and not just solely for that companies use. The heater fans were kicking in but not sure if it would be fitted with actual air con, more heaters than cooling with UK weather🤣 Yes they are for anti vandal guards the luggage rack and the quick-hitch system works really well after all these years and simple to operate. I’ve never seen a double solenoid system but Thomas figured it out so it was new learning for me too👍🏻 Hope you find our channel interesting and lots more to come, greetings to USA from Wales🏴🏴
It was happy just sitting and being one with the briars, now tortured into actually moving being productive. It could have easily sat rusting away being part of nature though a bit of orange paint not letting the metal rust properly to feed the briars. The engine bay and cab needs vacuumed out so rot does not continue in her guts.
We tried to revive the old starter but it was not economical, hope you enjoyed the process of fault finding, good batteries and good starter essential as a base to start👍🏻
I always wonder why people put such machines anywhere in the forest or somewhere else... machines are so expensible and mostly easy to fix. Lot of people don't care about environment. Very sad ;)
I spoke to the driver who drove it full time and parked it up all those years ago, it was giving trouble and needing a booster pack to start it so with a change in the business direction it was parked in the corner and forgotten about as the fitter has his hands full with maintaining trucks now👍🏻
This is what we thought, refurb would be cheaper than new but the guy I use said it was cheaper to get a replacement by the time he repaired the original, it was a really good price and the owner tried to get a new one which was twice the price!
39:12, far out! That was pretty stupid, putting the boom at full height, you had no idea if that bucket was actually locked onto the pins. You'd have had a crushed camera man if it wasn't. Very lucky!
We did. The bucket was dropped off and re latched before tracking it out. Unfortunately can't include everything as the videos will be far too long. Same reason there's a large portion of fault finding missing. But further to your point it would have been blatantly obvious if it wasn't latched as the bucket would have been swinging at multiple points during the initial operation of the boom
Had a chuckle editing this one at the fact we were wondering if it had manual preheat. Obsviously ECU controlled😎. Let us know what you think!
Nice condition looks great seems to be working well after the starter replacement
We had a problem when we started to work it for a long period, the fan belt snapped🤦🏼 video to follow 👍🏻
I had no doubt that machine would start it a modern machine and doosan are a very good machine 👍
Loved this video, and Tom's matching orange T-shirt! 😂
Dressed for the occasion 🤣
Nicely done gents. Bravo!
Thank you! Something a bit more modern but a shame to see it languishing in the flora & fauna and still works well as you see👍🏻
in Asia, this kind of looking good excavator will still doing hard work at site. Never be abandoned.
Hopefully will work now we have fixed it👍🏻thanks for watxhing
Nice bit of Japanese Knotweed
It’s everywhere these days😔
That machine came back to life with the minimum of work. Looks like it’s a low hours machine. No sloppy bucket etc . Good work guys . 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I drove a doosan 300 on a waste site. i loved it
Good excavators, well constructed, thanks for watching👍🏻
Awesome guys ❤
@@SangPejuang. thank you, you can see it’s been parked up a long while with the moss and brambles through the machine, glad you enjoyed the video👍🏻
a good clean too.
Thanks Peter, yes could do with a clean, we’re glad we got it out of the undergrowth, used it again yesterday and started up no problem with new batteries👍🏻
Interesting thanks.
Thank you for your kind comment, hopefully explained a bit on how a starter works👍🏻

That’s a clean machine for been parked so long
Even the foam on the inside of the doors is intact
The machine had one driver from new, when the business moved away from plant hire to tippers it was just parked up in the corner of the yard, shame to see a 2012 machine parked up
Not just clean! That engine fired right up! Sounds to good to be parked like this
Dont believe everything you read, whatever makes views is what people do. Just say it hasnt run or moved in years and boom, people watch and subscribe. RUclips has gone to hell since its used as a "job" now
That may be true for some other channels but there is nothing staged, scripted or exaggerated here and never will be
We get plenty of rain here, the brambles were really thick running up through the centre of the machine, the engine starting straight away is testimony to the modern engine
Was the exhaust pipe covered? Check all fluids, air filter, rodent damage like chewed wires, nests.Fuel filters changed out, fuel stale replace it.
well done boyo!!!
😂😂😂😂🏴🏴🏴🏴👌🏻
In Thailand, it is a machine that is second only to Caterpillar.
Good machines Doosan👍🏻thanks for tuning in🤩

Instead of using a bit of wire the battery leads connected directly to the starter would be the thing. Yes?
It wasn't long enough nor was the ring terminal big enough to fit over the stud on the solenoid. We did try it
Nice 👍
Good machine for a farm. Works well if maintained properly. Definitely not for full excavation working.
That's exactly what it will be doing
that undergrowth would grow here in less than 2 months in April/may time
@@incubatork wow that’s some growth! What part of the world are you? Thanks for looking at our channel👍🏻
Check the solenoid,probably fried.
What about the two mini diggers you started working on i loved them
They’re still on the list of to do🤦🏼
Awesome job fellas, great fault diagnosis which will benefit the channel viewers. 👍
Cheers Rob, thanks for watching 👌
What kind of engine does she got
Doosan DL06
What a load claptrap 😂
Are you going to make more videos about the dynahoe
Absolutely, big restoration in store for it
It was happy just sitting and being one with the briars, now tortured into actually moving being productive. It could have easily sat rusting away being part of nature though a bit of orange paint not letting the metal rust properly to feed the briars. I did lift up the rubber matting and it’s starting to show the rust inside where it’s been sat so long with old wet dirt and moisture😣
Easy peasy lemon squeezey

@@RustNRestoration and a drop of magic 🎩 ✨️ dust easy start
@@RustNRestoration do you know anyone good on price for Digger parts service stuff that's good on dollar bucks
Prices have gone really high in the UK for everything😢
Have you started working on the backhoe
The Dynahoe? Not yet we’ve given it a steam off and revealed some interesting findings👍🏻
Any new videos

Normal problem of start motors to jam get refub as good as new half the price of brand new maybe old owners not interested in maintenance?
This is what we thought, refurb would be cheaper than new but the guy I use said it was cheaper to get a replacement by the time he repaired the original, it was a really good price and the owner tried to get a new one which was twice the price!
There's no need to disconnect the battery's There's a dead man switch on it right beside the battery's
It's been bypassed
That machine has been parked about two weeks……

Looks like that bucket needs new teeth.
Yep definitely could do with a new set👍🏻

beautiful excavator🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Yes! very good excavator and works well after being parked up for so long🤩
Dont make up a storry it looks to new for me
True story honest🤷♂️
A 2 year old could of gotten this going
Not much needed, but we posted it for some viewing none the less 👍
