How to replace Range Rover Sport 2005-2009 height sensor to alleviate "Suspension Fault Normal Height Only" errors. This is a follow up video to my original video on how to diagnose a faulty height sensor. This is a relatively cheap and easy fix for a very common RRS problem. Ideally, both front or rear wheel height sensors would be replaced at the same time for symmetry.
The specific sensor you need will depend on whether you are replacing the front/rear and driver/passenger sensor.
Parts needed:
Replacement height sensors (amzn.to/3n0vgho)
Front: RRS HSE and RRS SC are the same, but LR3 is different part.
Rear: RRS HSE, RRS SC, and LR3 height sensors are the same.
Tools required:
13mm socket or wrench (for battery terminals)
T20 torx bit (for height-sensor bracket)
The tool set I use - contains all above tools: amzn.to/46VKwU4
Works with RRS and LR3 MY 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009

excellent concise and clearly presented. thank you i have a 2007 RR SC and want to learn more about diagnosing and repairs NS Canada
Your videos are awesome! Thank you! I love my RR and just want to get more years out of her.
Excellent video!! Never seen anything good as that one!!
Sir your videos are second to none. My wife has a RRS and I have subscribed. Awesome work!!!
Thank you! Every other video shows the RR on a lift for this procedure. Seeing this makes it clear I can tackle this one myself and give my wallet a break!
Thanks for the info I was wondering how to get that done you made it look so easy.
Love your videos they are straight to the point and good video step by step
Very well explained and short and sweet. Thanks
Your videos are the best!
You are a Absolutely King 🤴 My Friend
Awesome info - Thank You!
your the best. love your videos. keep them coming for range rovers
Thank you. Excelent video
Excellent video God bless you!!
straight to the point. thanks.
So contrary to other videos, this looks straight forward, I did not see or hear anything about height calibration.
Eureka! The exact fault as you described; I replaced as per your video with OEM part on Tuesday and it is now back to normal! Not sure I needed the compressor the dealer scan code indicated, but hey, it's a 16 years old vehicle so cannot hurt. The original plug was a 6-pin and the new plug is a 3-pin. Thinking maybe for L/R front wheel optional placement on the original? It only had 3 wires. Thanks again.
Whoa thanks for sharing. Just got one of these. Do you know other reasons to look out for Suspesion faults? For example, you mentioned either the compressor or valve blockage. Would it display on dashboard for those specific errors??
Does it apply the concept for rear stroke sensors of mdx 2011? Do I have to remove the battery? Having problems taking off the wire. Any suggestions? Thank you.
Great vid .
I have same light on my dash but says .
Vehicle leanwhen cornering .
Will this be the same height sensor to sort out problem please ?
Great Video! Thank you
Hi there , thank for your excellent videos , God bless you ! I have a question : my RRS L320 , 2008 has the same error on dashboard witch comes after I start driving and when I put the RRS on different driving modes , Access , Standard or Off Road .
I see a difference of 3-4 cm in level on the right front side only , if I leave the car to stay on OFF Road mode for 2-3 days at ones without starting the car at all in all this time.
The car comes up on OFF road , down on Access and Standard without any problems , only after I start driving and it feels few bumps the error its coming on the dashboard " Suspension Fault " Special Programs Off " or if I try to put the car on different driving modes wile I am in a parking . Do you have any idea what can be and I should do ? Its the sensor ? its the air pressure block valves on the front ? its the compressor ? thank you in advance !!!
Don't know if you have any insight, but when I got my 06 RR SC, it was on its bump stops. Someone had driven it like that and the front right strut, if you pull the rubber cap off under the hood, sits 1 inch higher than the left one. So much that the cap won't go all the way back on. I imagine the banging on the bump stops rammed the strut so hard, it slipped in its housing a little? So when it is sitting on the bump stops, the front right of the vehicle sits an inch lower now. Now I reset the codes, and got the air suspension working again by replacing the relay in the back. After that, I did the turn steering wheel full left and right to reset the system. But somewhere during this process, the sensors got calibrated sitting on the bump stops with the front left being 1 inch lower. My question is, do you know what I did to trigger it to calibrate? I don't have a diagnostic tool other than the typical OBDII tool. So I couldn't have triggered the calibration on purpose.
Great video! Subscribed.
Brilliantly done
Question, 08 sport 4.4L. Front passenger suspension goes down in normal height drive. It raises but goes back down after start. However stays up in off-road height. On the screen it displays that tire low and suspension fault and reset suspension height after obstacles are removed. Sensor replacement?
Thanks for the video very helpful. I want to buy a used range rover and expect to have suspension issues
For me at least:
-60k miles: air compressor ($600)
-80k miles: lower control arms, swaybar bushings ($300)
-90k miles: height sensor (just the front left one) ($60?)
-135k miles: air compressor again but I just did a coil conversion to bypass any further suspension issues for the life of the car instead of replacing the compressor ($1,300)
The suspension issues aren't too hard to fix, it's just a matter to making sure you're fixing the right part
@@HazyJay thanks!
That's so funny 😂😂😂
Hi, Hazy! Always love your very detailed tutorials. Thank you!
I would get occasional rear sag that would automaticall correct upon start. I would also get random suspention fault warnings.
The truck gave a teriibly rough ride over bumps too.
About a month ago I replaces the compressor and I just replaced my rear airsprings 2011 RRS HSE and all was fine. It raised up and lowered no problem right after both replacements.
After a good test drive with no warnings I figured raise and lower it again for another test...
Well, Its stuck up in off road height now and won't let me lower it. Says suspension fault then the usual dont drive over 35mph, etc...
I've tried turn off and on numerous times and still no change. Seems the system will not deflate. As soon as I hit the button to lower it sends a suspention fault warning. Absolutley nothing happens. No air comes out, no movement at all... suspension controls just shut down.
Even right after startup it will immediately go to fault as soon as I hit the button and try to adjust height to normal.
Maybe theres a clog after all the work I did?
If you have any ideas, I would be very grateful if you shared.
Thanks in advance and thanks again for your great vids!
All 4x4 dash info looks even and steady, its just stuck in off road height.
When working properly the system fills and raises fast... just for whatever reason right now I cannot get it to go down.
Will disconnecting the.battery help? Or do you think this is a height sensor?
Or a clog?
Help!?? Please?
Thank you!
Hmmm it's likely the error is caused by the gallery (air springs) lowering too slowly making the vehicle think there is an obstruction, which then causes it to jump up to extended mode. This would trigger code C1A13-64 Pressure does not decrease when venting gallery. So it's potentially a clog which can usually be fixed by cleaning out the desiccant chamber on the compressor or replacing the exhaust valve. I'd make sure you're having the C1A13 error though first, consider using a code tool to check or have a dealer check.
@@HazyJay Thanks for the speedy reply! Your the best!
I have a basic OBD2 scanner and show no codes. I was actually looking for the one you mentioned.(saw it in the comments and on RR threads)
I understand what you are saying about the suspension thinking obstruction below truck and shooting into extended mode.., but thats not happening.
From past experience, typically if something is under the truck I am promted before lowering and that doesn't happen now. It doesn't put itself in extended mode either. I put it into off road height myself(purposely) and now it will not go down. Thats pretty much it.
The 4x4 screen shows the suspention at level in off road height(as it should), but it won't move. Its just stuck there.
When I start the truck; the dash display says normal height and the center console height selector switch has the off road height and the center normal ride height symbols lit up, yet no suspension fault in the dash display.
At this point I try to lower the suspension and as soon as I touch the height selection button I imediately get the suspension fault and get locked out of the suspension controls. The truck stays in off road height... doesn't change at all. No compressor noise, no air release noises, nothing but the ding and the fault from the dash display.
Im not sure its a height sensor as when viewing the 4c4 display all 4 wheels register the proper postion in accordance to the trucks actual height.
Could it be a bad relay?
Or possibly the exhaust valve? The compressor is only a month old.(bought new).
I am truly grateful for you responding and doing what you can to help.
I hate to be a bother.... but I do anxiously look forward to your next reply.
Your insight is much appreciated.
Thank you, Hazy!
I think a bad relay or fuse is more likely, or a burned out ECU, given it errors as soon as you press the button and doesn't even attempt to change heights. I'd check the fuses/relays first since it's cheap/easy, but if they're normal then you'll need someone with a Jaguar/LR diagnostic tool to check and see what exactly is causing the system failure. I hate going to the dealer but that should be a cheap/free diagnostic test, then you can fix it yourself most likely.@@kevinfelisberto4204
@@HazyJay WOW! I wish I could get answers that fast from any local shop or even Google! Thats awesome... Thank you!
I will definitely look into the relay/fuses. I did see someone suggest replacing the relay when you do the airsprings as that would be as old and tired as the springs themselves and may not be up to par with the new setup.
And as you suggest, if that isn't it then I will have the ECU checked out.
I will repost when/if I get this figured out. Lol, I may end up with another question first.🤷♂️
Thanks again for your help! You are a great service to all of us RR aficionados.
A true gentleman. 😎👍
@@kevinfelisberto4204 No problem I hope you figure it out, let me know if you do and what it was, I'm hoping it's something easy/cheap. 👌👌
You have any suggestions for this code c1119 hydraulic pressure ? Range Rover sport 2012 . Thanks
Hi. I get the lean when cornering come on and apply the brakes. My display looks level. I have got my rear ace pipes replaced with new. I might need to replace the filter in the valve block. What do you think is causing it to come on?.
And one more question please : if I change the Suspension compresor with Aftermarket one it will work properly ? does it need to be reprogramed / coded / updated to my RRS at Land Rover or it will work without been programed/ coded/updated to my RRS ? thank you in advance.
Hello, I have an LR3 with the error U0132 lost communication with ride level control module. it has no leakes. but the compressor does not stop working. If I remove the relay, it stops the compressor and the truck can be used, if I leave the relay the compressor heats up and the truck lowers all the suspension. What may be the problem?
Hi I changed my ride sensor which was showing red when lowered but it hasn't solved the problem. I still get the yellow suspension light. Thanks
Have you seen the Amber light that blinks when you drive and then stays on when you stop? only ride height avail. R strut w bag replaces a while ago and more recently compressor replaced. Was fine after that. Now this. Suspect R F sensor. I thought I saw the r f tire on the 4x4 display glitching though now it all looks fine. Blinking error light evey time I drive now. LR4 2011 HSE
Hello! I cannot calibrate the suspension, due to these errors: lateral accelerometer circuit, control module and voltage suply and something about the compressor. I just changed the block valve and the diagnose does not allow me to readjust the suspension. If you have more experience, please give an advice. Thank you in advance ;)
Thanks for video, any suggestions where to buy sensors from, any luck with Amazon sensors.
Thank you for the video. I have an Ml320 that has a similar issue but the dash does not inform you of a problem. Instead I get different heights between the wheels and the wheel arch. And one strut deflates after exiting the car. Raising again while driving and keeping high if the motor is on. Do you think I have a height sensor problem?
I have the same problem with the 2014 Sport, it does not install under the number 3, it goes up, what is the solution? Please Help
Hi I got 2007 range rover sport I change the transmission modular but still I have the same problem do I have to change the sensor ?
Two thumbs up, buddy. 😉🍻
Could you please show me the passenger side sensor height position. I did removed and forgot to mark it. Thank you.
hello, the suspension of my d Rover hse 2005 was deprogrammed, the system light that is in the center of the panel does not turn on, it is 3 orange lights. and as always the inactive suspension message. Do you have an idea of what it could be 😅 how bad I wanted to change the control arms but the suspension of my truck was totally up. Thank you
Very supeeeeeer video....I have range rover sport 4.2SC....please.....replace rear height sensor...
Awesome short and detailed Vid mate, cheers from OZ. Mine randomly says 'Suspension Fault' only when putting it in raised height and doesn't always appear.. Replaced the Compressor recently. and all 4 wheel sensors appear to be normal. Any Ideas on what the fault for raised height is? Is there a Single sensor or ''Brain'' that all 4 go to? Cheers.
There is a control unit but if it was faulty, you would likely have more severe issues. I'd consider raising the vehicle while watching the 4x4 screen, sometimes the height sensors will start to send weird signals at certain heights and maybe you can catch which one is faulty.
Awesome video. Im running an Lr3 and have just had new blocks front and rear changed. Truck drops down to bump stops overnight... have checked entire system for leaks now. Put it into extended height, removed Fuse 26, and for the first time in 2 years it stayed up. Did the same again in normal height 3 days ago and truck remains up... no warning lights on normally could this be a faulty height sensor... ? I should say the truck drops on all 4 corners not bias to one corner... cheers
Definitely doesn't sound like a leak, system is probably trying to level over and over while it's parked, I'm under the impression it can only DROP and can't RAISE while the car is off. I'd suspect one of the height sensors is off, what does the 4x4 info say though? Do all wheels look level and stable?
Whats fuse 26 solve i have this issue
Thank you sir! Why is my RRS bent over to the left side ? My lines are not in place. I have tried many ways
Hey there, I got this suspension fault light on the dash too but mine does not let me raise the level at all when I try change height to higher or lower it says "normal ride height only" suspension fault, does this still mean the suspension sensors are the problem?
Did you solve this i have the same problem
Hi Hizy. My Range Rover hse 2007 is alway show the (front passenger) suspension not stable ( some time that turn normal height, but sometimes it show very low ) also I cannot rise and lower it by control and my special program are also no light at the control and also not able to control because it said special program off. Last night I park it the front rear look normal stable but my driving backside rear drop down very low! Can you give me some advice?
You know your stuff! I have a L320 2011 Sport. Are you aware of any way to set up automatic lowering once the car is in park (like in the newer models)? I'm OK with buying an aftermarket kit if that is the best solution.
I'm not familiar with any way to do this EASILY, you would probably need to reprogram the ECU. Is there an aftermarket part for this that you're aware of?
Thank you for the video. My screen shows the car is rising but it actually isnt. The lights on the switch will light up but go out and a fault will present. Secondly once or twice a week it will work fine without notice. I am having trouble finding a shop that will work on it. Any suggestions? Thanks Re:2006 full size Range Rover
Bravo great video
For an LR4, the visual display is not like this. How do you know if there is a height sensor issue when there is a suspension fault warning on the console vs. a valve block issue? Car compression system works fine and stays level overnight. Thank you!
I did change the passenger side sensor. The screen on the dash , indicates all OK. Yet, the suspension light, keep coming back after few minutes of driving?
What I am missing?
Thank you
Just learning my Range Rover Sport 2012 with 150k miles. Intermittent message do not exceed 30mph suspension fault.
I have put about 5k miles on this vehicle in mixed use with no issues. Recently had compressor replaced.
Programmed correctlt supposedl by jag rover specialty shop. 250 miles later the warning shows up. 20 degrees outside. Light off next day, 25 degrees, Light on after 1 mile.
Light went off, yesterday 50 degrees out. Went for 3 hour spirited drive in mountains yesterday with no issues. Then some lite off roading. No light. Glad for that. Intermittent warning lights are so annoying!
Temperature-related warnings sometimes are due to a low battery. The sensors are really finicky, and a battery just 2 years old can start causing issues. I use a AGM battery and found these are the best and haven't had issues in years. Just something to consider!
Hello, I had some problems. My LR3 goes on extended mode by itself and doesn't lower down while driving up to 35
**HELP**
I replaced the ride height sensor like you said, but it still is about inch lower than the other wheels but the dash says everything odd level/correct. Any idea how to get it level again? Maybe the new sensor is faulty?
What about if there is nothing wrong with the dots on the 4x4 screen but it changes from standard to raising real quick
I have a 2006 supercharged it will not lift the compressor is running ?
Good job
Hi I’ve replaced the height sensor but still not fixed. What else can be causing this?
My compressor works well one or two days then not the next. The fault is always showing on the dashboard. Could this be the relay
EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I replaced my rear air suspension strut ,it's work well whe the engine is turn but when I turn of over night it's already too low.is it normal.
Thank you for this video now how do you check what are the right height sensors for your vehicle I have an 05 LR3
The 2005-2009 4L or 4.4L LR3 will use the same ones as the RRS: amzn.to/3n0vgho. Just make sure to get the correct side and front/back, as they are different part #s.
I replaced rear driver side it looks exactly likr the one you replaced in front. Are all 4 sensors the same?
I am getting suspension fault message on my Range Rover Sport 2011 and the mid light on the level adjustment button goes off, I switch the car off and on again and everything works normally again the car level is always normal, do you know what could be wrong?
I have a 2006 rrs supercharged... My car was fine and out of boredom i selected calibrate anti roll option then i got e 7 error code and my red suspension light is on... Everything still works ie suspension goes up an down etc but now the red light stays on and fault code C 1 A00-54 - Control module - System programming failure - missing calibration (AB)... 😮... Any advice please 🙏
hi, my LR4 , 2014, front has dropped. Air springs have no leak, the valve block is ok. But the vehicle is not lifting (in front). The compressor is working fine as well. What could be the issue? Thanks
Hi, my range is in high extended mode, how can i cancel this back to standard. Mode? Thanks
Very good video. Quick question, how would I know if it’s an electrical connector problem I have rather than a height sensor one? I get the fault on the front left side. From this video and others it appears that it is a height sensor fault but I also suspect it could be the electrical connector. Is there any way of knowing from your experience?
You could visually inspect the connector for frayed wires or corrosion, but it would be difficult to predict the sensor harness is that problem otherwise. Your best bet would be to replace the height sensor and see if it resolves your issue given it's relatively cheap and easy to replace.
@@HazyJay Fantastic, thanks. I’ll try that as a starting point.
Nice job bro. Question: I have a 2013 Range Rover Sport and i found out that the rear right height sensor is faulty using diagnostic tool but when my brother buy the height sensor he got a 6pin sensor but my car equip with 3pin sensor. It is possible for me to install the 6pin sensor? Or not?
Ehhh it may be possible, but you put yourself at risk of the sensor having different voltage values than the original, which will create problems and will at the very least require a dealer calibration. I'd say just try to return the 6-pin and get an OEM sensor.
Help full video
Hi great video, I take you don’t have to calibrate after the new one is fitted
As long as you replace the sensor with the same one that was removed it should be OK. If you note obvious height differences with a measuring tape then you may need to.
Thankyou sir!
Can anyone help . I have swapped my sensor and its showing it completley the opposite way around (below) the others above . Have i installed it the wrong way round .cheers .
Hey bud, quick question for you.
First of all thank you for the videos. They are Great!
Allright maybe you can help diagnosing a problem.
I've changed the air compressor, middle and front valve blocks. I can't see any leaks of the struts themself and they look pretty good. But the front passenger side is always is a bit lower than the rest, and it takes longer to inflate.. (or its just a bit lower than the other corners)... reckon the bag is due?
Can't really see the hoke thing as it is protected by the metal housing. Could it be the height sensor?
Bought it with a lot of issues, resolving one after another, its slowly getting great.
Btw, i'ld love a rear active swaybar fix video ;)
Did u fix it buddy i have the same problem and mot failure
I would wish that this was more straight forward as you have shown .
Firstly I had an active roll fault with wiring connection to the valve block , then cleared with diagnostic , which you need really .
Then second fault with rear height sensor , I replaced this and ran guided calibration with diagnostic which would come up with an error .I then found the Active roll module was not active and needed calibrated , so not always so simple !
Hi dear how are you I just want to know if you can help me I have Range Rover 2005 and they take very extra excellentranslator and running is very low can you help me what will I do ?
On my 2006 lr3 is blinking on indicating the rear I changed the air suspension but still not raising up
Thank you for your videos. I own a lr3 that is on the bump stops and those white markers over the tyres on the 4 by 4 info is flashing red . Is that ride height sensor or blown bellows of the air spring? Please advise
Unfortunately it could be many things, the MOST COMMON cause of no pressure in all 4 wheels is a faulty compressor. If you end up purchasing a new one, consider lifting the vehicle off of all 4 wheels before starting it again for the first time. When a new compressor needs to fill the entire system from zero, it sometimes overheats or needs multiple attempts, taking the weight off the wheels I predict may help somewhat with that.
Hey men how are you can you download a vedio about Engine split
Hello, on the driver side, you show the sensor facing the fire wall, which dirección the passenger side goes, does it matter? Thank you

Thank you
I had a instance where my ride height for my front two wheels where reading extended mode, and then my front two struts filled all the way up and my rear two stayed and normal ride height. Do you have any idea why that would have happened. What I did to temp fix it was to depressorize the right front strut both struts in the front went all the way down, until I started driving again then they filled right up and my wheel is reading way down.
If the wheel height isn't matching what is showing on the 4x4 info that's a good indication that the height sensor is bad, you may need to replace both unless you can see which front sensor is faulting first or if you use a LR OBDII scanner to pin-point which one it is.
Do they have to be recalibrated or just plug and play?
Hi mi problem is the lock sitting i Ripley's can you please help me
hi when carrying out this repair do you need to program the sensor into he car and set ride height or is it plug and play thanks
If you replace with the identical part you don't really need to calibrate, if you ask the dealer they will say you need to calibrate it
@@HazyJay thanks for the quick response, you seem like the only guy on youtube that simply explains the fault and causes and how to fix simply. very basic and straight forward thanks again
Hi. My front has lowered all the way down. You can see it on the 4x4 screen. When I get in and start it, i have to press the button to try to raise it up. But a message comes on the screen “raising slowly”, but won’t actually raise the front back up. What do you think could be the issue?
You might have a leak somewhere in the front air springs, this could be at the valve block (in front of the passenger front wheel) or where the lines connect on top of the spring, you should be able to hear a hiss while the vehicle turns on as long as it is at least trying to raise the car. The raising slowly warning may indicate that the air compressor is also going bad (ruclips.net/video/yCaVMXiVSLc/видео.html).
hey 06 LR3 here, don’t have a nav screen hoping someone can help.
my front end is lower than rear and stays the same level at all times even when parked for 24+ hours. i turn the car on and it kicks compressor on and tries to raise suspension but after 15 seconds special modes and compressor kicks off and sends me the “suspension fault normal mode only” and it stays like that the whole drive. i have not found any leaks and think it’s stuck valves but not sure.
sorry this was long but i’d greatly appreciate anyone who can help.
I have a 2006 lr3 and when I drive it it won’t let me go over 30 mph as if it lost power. But when I let off gas it picks up power until gets to going over 30 mph then it does it again. Please help.
Tarrain control not respond how to fix change relay
Hello my Range Rover 2005 shows the air suspension inactive message, I check connections and everything looks normal check for wiring power and everything works ,I’m not sure if change to a new air suspension relay will do something also the front driver tire shows the white line as red color but now that the car is seating on standard level the 4 tires are normal on white color but car still shows the inactive suspension
Looks like your issue is with the full size RR, correct? I would try this video, it may be a problem with the steering calibration: ruclips.net/video/xR899nhkRxE/видео.html
A while back, I bought lowering links to install rather than the standard length little plastic rods, they’re adjustable and can make the car sit closer to the ground. I’m now selling and want to return to the original look, however when I put the original links back on, the car isn’t sitting in its original height as when I bought it even after driving around… any ideas?
That's strange, consider unplugging the battery overnight and seeing if this will clear any sensor presets.
Thanks
Great video. Perhaps the only one I've seen that comes close to addressing my problem. When i push the lift button it flashes twice, chimes and thats it. From the manual it says when that happens it means the command was denied. I just don't know why. Doors are closed, the height is standard looking at the screen. Just won't respond.
I would check the air suspension relay under the hood first to make sure it isn't flipped, is there any message on the dash like "Normal height only"?
@@HazyJay it says "suspension lowered". Earlier today one suspension collapsed but when i restarted the car again it came back up to normal ride height but will still not respond to full lift or even lower command. Just the 2 flashes and a chime is all i get.
@@zedohh4450 I've had the issue where the front suspension would collapse but would rise again when the car was restarted, at that time it was a height sensor, what does the 4x4 info look like? Is there weird wheel movement when their shouldn't be? In lieu of that, the button chiming makes me think there's a short or even that the compressor is so warn that the system is seeing too much resistance and throws an error when you press the height change button. I changed my suspension compressor at 70k miles and 135k miles, have you changed yours yet?
@@HazyJay when i start the car the normal and lowered lights on the height switch both come on and stay on perhaps suggesting the car is at normal and lowered height at the same time?... He fault light on the cluster gauge does not come on until the car is in motion and when that happens both lights on the switch go off. The 4x4 info says "standard" and the bars are aligned but the screen says "suspension lowered" don't know what to make of it. Sorry its taken me this long to respond I've been moving to a new house.
@@zedohh4450 Both the normal and lower bar being on at the same time I believe means that the car is at normal height but in the process of lowering. The exact process that's causing the error doesn't seem obvious, if it's TRYING to lower but cant, that may indicate that there's a clog in the valve block or in the system, but honestly at that point it's not obvious enough to just start replacing things and guessing. You may consider buying a iCarSoft II scanner (or similar scanner that can read LR codes) and try to find out what is causing the fault. Or you could take it to the dealer and have them scan it while the fault is triggered. This would at least give you a stepoff point whether it be a clog, the compressor, or a height sensor. I've also seen a really bad alignment with a bent tie-rod that made it impossible to lower the car just due to the metal getting in the way.
Been subscribed to you you have the best informed videos out here.
I ended getting a 08 RRS, when on the 4x4 screen one of the tires shows much more than the other 3. What can this be?
Much higher than the others?? If it looks even with the others when you're outside the car, replacing that wheel's height sensor is reasonable.
@@HazyJay Yes driver and both rear wheels show on the screen much higher than my passenger wheel. I ended replacing the sensor thinking that could be my issue but no. All modes are accessible and I’m able to drive top speeds. But that damn front passenger tire is not in line with the others.
@@Nottodaysatanyoutried Is it actually lower in real life when you're outside the car? Like it that wheel at a different distance from the wheel well than the front driver wheel? If it is and the car "doesn't care" that it's a different height, you may need to have the height sensors calibrated on a calibration surface at a dealer.
@@HazyJay All four wheels are even when looking at it from an outside view. Everything works well as before I replaced the sensor. The only thing is the tire showing up on my 4x4 screen much much lower than the other 3. You’re probably right and it’s more than likely some calibration needed. You have any idea on pricing?
Shouldn't really be more than 100$ but I would call before I drove over and ask. It's relatively straightforward
Hi how are you my name is Simon my problem is it Lockheed has been changed I've done that but the car still makes the
Hi My Air suspension goes into bump stops during motion. This started after i replaced brand new struts at the front. i have inspected it for leakages. Nothing so far.
Might consider the front valve block, relatively cheap part and easy to replace: ruclips.net/video/tqujGblFHZo/видео.html
I have already swapped the old Height sensor to the new.. however, initially i forgot to disconnect the battery and once connected.. the suspension got phoney and only after disconnected the battery it all went back to normal..
Nevertheless, the fault sign on the panel still comes off.. dont know what to do😢
@hazy hi how do I find out which sensor is fault my Range Rover velar has dropped from the front the back is okay and when I go over any hump it’s like the suspension is very stiff
A faulty sensor will tell the car a tire is at a wrong height, so if you're lucky, you can go to the 4x4 info screen and see a wheel is higher/lower than it is in real life, or bouncing around when it's actually still. You can see this at 0:35
@@HazyJay it’s not letting me adjust the height of the car what’s so ever also it says suspension fault
please help! We have the same error "normal ride height only" replaced with after market part. Didn't help! So put old one back on, the error Code went away but then came back the next day. Ordered OEM part which should be here in a few days. How can we tell if the compressor is what the real issue is? The truck is lowering and raising fine.
Did you see the wheels moving while parked on the 4x4 info screen like in the video? Honestly if you have >70K miles and the compressor has never been replaced it's likely that. I would get a OEM compressor if you go that route, the off-brand ones only last like 6 months.
Please teach me. Launch calibration suspension X431 Range Rover 2004
To use the Launch X431 you will need to jack the wheels up so that they are all the correct height manually, then calibrate the voltage reads from the height sensors so that they understand that that height is the preferred height. In reality, this is pretty complex and should be done at the dealer. If you want to try it yourself you may need to search for a tutorial, I have not done this job before.
