Nice miniature work! I assumed it was an abandoned structure that the production was allowed to destroy by the property owners. Y'know, to save money on demolition.
@@chrisjohnston4445 Thanks! It was a forced perspective miniature build at a motel in Palmdale, CA, You can see a line where the miniature building and driveway separate from the real thing, but I think it blends pretty well! The overall miniature was 2nd unit director Wyatt Weed, and the pyro was by the legendary Joe Viskocil, which was probably why it looked so good. For my part, I did the detailing on the miniature... the fixtures, doorknobs, motel room numbers, etc. Also matching the driveway for color, cracks, oil spots etc. One thing we were concerned about was the lamps--- I sourced some glass Christmas bulbs in the hopes that they might shatter under pyro, but they didn't., they were too tough! But I don't think it was noticed. Also it was very windy that day, and all the smoke immediately blew directly into the camera... we only had one shot at this, and seeing the camera get hit with smoke so fast, we were all a little afraid we didn't get much on film... but the view was still good, and somehow I think it makes it even more dynamic with the smoke coming right at you. Definitely learned a lot on that set... also got to meet Tracy Walter that day!
Mark Dacascos put all of his fighting skills into full throttle for this movie. Dacascos at his best! Would've loved to see a sequel. This movie deserved a sequel.
A little trivia, the original working title for the film was Road to Ruin, that's what we were calling the project when we were building miniatures. I didn't hear about the title change until the invite to the premier arrived. It was shown for us at a theater somewhere around Burbank or the Valley, maybe Studio City, and we all went for Chinese afterwards :)

I worked on this! I helped with the motel miniature being blown up, and I made the little rocket you see flying in. Fun stuff...
Nice

Just watched this for the first time. What a classic! This was the original rush hour. Should have been several sequels
the 90's, the decade of martial art movies

I watched this by accident in 2015 cuz I thought it was Drive (2011) but this is definitely better
I have absolutely no idea how old I was when I watched this gem of an action movie ! But what a masterpiece..
Drive is the original Rush Hour film!!! Saw it yesterday, a very cool film.
Best mark dacascos movie ever

Redline came after fast and furious
@@Untrus
WRONG...
It was a straight to video release back in the late 90s.

This movie was off the chain!
Great movie! And is on par with other action movies at the time but less known
This could have been a franchised movie, Mark and Kadeem’s careers would have been huge. Someone must have pissed off a gate keeper.
That fucking punch!
I wrote about it on IMDb. Very good movie. It's really better than what this trailer shows :)
This and Only the Strong!
Were they dropping fuck in trailers back then?
RIP Brittany Murphy 🪦🥀
I found out she died of pneumonia back in 2009 when she was 32. I was 10 years old when it happened, So young. May she rest in peace. 😇❤🖤🙏🏿
Where is Ryan Gosling and Christina Hendricks?
This is the 1997 version. Ryan Gosling is in the 2011 one. Same title but two different movies
