Bhai… for the last 14 years I have been hearing of Mmrca and then mrfa, nothing happened so far. In fact our navy itself is not having full capacity. All of this is just to keep us excited.

But as of latest news about marine Rafael costing around 50000 Cr , which is twice the cost of Rafael we bought earlier that included training and maintenance... So if Dassault is not ready to reduce its price... We don't need to waste our time with them and move ahead with typhoon

Rafale F4 ka sensor package is what piques IAF's interests as of this date, that's why Rafale F3R was bought for complementing those sensor package clause..
Getting France to agree for ToT on sensor integration in Rafale F4, imagine how AMCA will use it to surpass F-35 or any other 6th gen fighters in plan as of today..

Sortie toh pichle air chief ne mig 35 ki bhi ki thii. I don't think and foreign made jet acquisition will be smooth now. So most probably 4.5 gen requirements will be met through mk1a and mk2
Considering the shortage of Fighter Aircrafts, the delivery time line is more important than logistical cost. Dussault Aviation is already coating very high prices in the case of the Naval version of Rafel. In the case of Typhoon, the manufacturer company has already offered 20% discount on quoted price.

India's future :
Tejas Mk-2 is in testing phase,
It will be a good option if india acquire euro fighter typhoon in significant number excluding mrfa program on 3 conditions
1) complete manufacturing of euro fighter typhoon in india with some negotiation on ip rights favourable to indian interest.
2)complete tot of ej 200 jet engine both production technology and technology know why.
3)collaborative research of adaptive cycle engine and CMC research (which will give a kick start for amca mk2 engine program and also it will put pressure on Safran to work with drdo).
Not only inventory and training cost, more important is Typhoon is developed and governed by different countries and that may create issues in the future depending on the political inclination each member country. Rafale on the other hand is governed by France only.

Let's be honest, in terms of economic, logistical & long term strategic feasibility, its best for Indian-Govt & Military to cancel MRFA & instead invest in:-
(1) Additional 18 to 36 Rafale jets for IAF
(2) TEDBF (ORCA) & AMCA for both IAF & IN
(3) Airbus A330 for AWACS, MRTT, VIP & Civil Transport roles under Make-in-India program
(4) Airbus A320 for AWACS, ISR, MPA, VIP & Civil roles under Make-in-India program
(5) Additional C-295 Aircraft to replace the ageing An-32s
(6) Additional 3 to 6 Kalvari-SSKs with DRDO's AIP system.
(7) Additional 100 to 200 K-9 Vajra SPGs
The focus should be on creating Logistical synergy & Economy of Scales for Indian Defence & Aerospace industry.
Which is better Raphael or Typhoon.
Euro fighter is air superiority aircraft.
However Rafale is omnirole which means while aircraft in air it can change air to air and air to ground operations easily during same sortie.
However in case of Eurofighter you need to land aircraft forst and then need to change mode.
In war scenario this is game changer.
Since its omnirole its airframe designed in such way it can perform both roles. However Eurofighter is moreover functions more in airsuperiority and interception.

Technically EFT has better air to air performance and a good upgrade roadmap but however im very skeptical about its supply chain and post delivery support and service. Even if we make(assemble) in India, the components have to be sourced from the EF consortium of countries. Rafale on the other hand has less complexities associated with its procurement. The French also provided a roadmap for domestic maintenance, assembly, procurement of components and currency flexibility. So rafale is a better option and yes, the rafale can do whatever jobs the typhoon is made to do.

Mrfa is dead project instead of concentrating on mrfa we must buy 3 or 4 squardons of rafale and 6 to 8 squardons of tejas mk2 depending upon trails and concentrate more on amca fighter jets 300 to 350 and start a development of sixth generation fighter jet for the replacement of 4th generation fighter jet after 2050 or 2060.

IAF is wasting its time, effort and money on MRFA tender. If IAF requires additional fighters, it should simply go G to G with France and acquire additional Rafals. This will be quick and without any confusion. Otherwise, focus on Tajas II fully and of course, AMCA. Unless of course, Govt wants to keep IAF busy with some work, foreign trips and empty hopes!!

It would be a Bad idea to buy German, just this year alone they harassed India (at the behest of Ch1na) byt Not supplying engines for Tank (this was after signing the contract few years back). Then the EU head wants to Audit India's Finance and Talk for unrelated issues. Better off with France or US (as we already have US systems)

I would think that an F-15EX would be a better choice strategically than any deals with the fickle minded Germans. Their constantly changing behaviour in the Ukraine war is a case in point. But the IAF Chief is just playing them along.
