To have a couple of these traits are normal in order for us to take care of ourselves. Two or three traits means your more self absorbed and selfish. Enough to probably be annoying and hurtful to others. If you have five or more traits it is a personality disorder. Narcissism is a personality disorder where everything is about them. If a Narcissism woman has children the children will be emotionally abused their whole life. Sometimes physically. There is nothing nice about a narcissist unless you like gas lighting, emotional cruelty, being used, lied to manipulated and the list goes on. A narcissist be it man or woman will come into your life making you think they are the best thing that ever happened to you. Play head games with you with all the abuse and once you have nothing left they want they walk out. It is the same for all of them. They lack what it takes to be human in things like empathy and love because they only love themselves. They are one of the reasons we have so much child abuse in this country so why some of the comments here think this is a farce I am not sure. To me that means you either are one or you have not got enough knowledge on the subject. I was raised by one and now work with abused children and women. It trashes you while your trying to grow up. Some of the daughters end up trying suicide, prostitution, drinking, drugs and cutting. I was one of the lucky ones I went the other direction. Before you make comments as if this is nothing live with one for awhile. You will never be the same for it.

Great video and completely spot on. Someone that has never dealt with one, or some people that may be one can't see the problems they have. It's an illness for which there is no cure. For people that say you are me, me, me, I say you've done a nice job on the video.
You're a professional and recognize this disease is real. Someone that can't identify may need to look inward, yet that is highly unlikely as you know. They simply think that everyone else in the world has a problem but them. Thanks for making this!

Why does our society feel the need to "clinically diagnose" all behaviors that are abusive, selfish or otherwise hurtful to others? Perhaps because in our twisted society, nothing is anyone's fault because of (insert excuse) here. The fact of the matter is that there are just mean, selfish, abusive and hateful people. Always have been, always will be. But to accept this means less money in the pockets of psychotherapists and drug companies.

It is interesting that some therapists talk of personality disorders as if they are talking about freaks from Mars, when in fact all people display many or most of the traits at times to different degrees. Such a therapist has not accepted her own demons. Run don't walk.

Wow this video is amazing - good info. i know one person that has the Fanatic Narcissist. Plus, he has the Elitists one also-He's better then everyone else. When I see him near I walk away
like I didn't notice him around. After 56 years I finally told him (June 2018) about his problem in front of others he didn't like it very well he left 30 mins later it was at a graduation party...im tired of him giving me that smirk face everytime that I talk to him. I hope that will keep him away for a long long time, and I was nice about it when I spoke to him so he wouldn't get crazy. You can just feel a wicked spirit in him👿not cool.

I knew ,later, that he hated my happiness. He looked at himself in the mirror with a smug grin on his face. Having never accounted for a human being to my f, i was totally unable to sympathise or praise him with admiration or adoration. In fact, I had experienced the same egotism with my f, n I just couldn't care less of the repetition model. Running naked around the house, busy checking out to see everyone of those present to fall embarrassed . I closed my eyes if not able to turn my head around. My f . This is true.

Best psych read abut how much these jerks cost tax payers- fraud in mental health- written anonymously by a therapist or social worker who workes for the government. These personality disorders cost 25 billion a year in disability as they malinger on mental health disability. Oh and it's enabled by social workers who have to make productivity to keep their jobs. Seriously, I am still mad about it. Now i ask every therapist i meet and two have flat out told me it's all true.

Yes everyone should strive to succeed, but the fact is if you are with a Narci, you fucking know it. If you are a Narci, it may be impossible for you to get outside your own head long enough to judge yourself as one.
If this video upsets you, then you are likely a Narci fighting reality.
There is absolutely no reason to be upset at facts and truth.

Definitely not my husband, but my boss's son who is 41 is a TEXTBOOK Covert Narcissist. He has EVERY trait of a covert, and on Monday he actually said to me "You know, for as long as I've been with my girlfriend, I've never gotten any praise from her mother." I burst out laughing, shouting "PRAISE? You don't get any PRAISE??!!!" He was embarrassed, and I'm waiting for his over the top retaliation. It was worth it.

It seems you leave out one of the Narci. The passive one, I think it may come more often from lower intelligence Narci's. They wont pay attention, look away, fumble papers, watch tv, clean, and generally do anything possible to not look you in the eye or JOIN REALITY at any cost, or even join the conversation.

This video alone would have us believing everyone is a narcissist when her points appear to be mostly general. For example, most of us have imagined unrealistic success or goals, or felt shame or frustration when criticized. How would that make someone a narcissist without understanding the environment in which these things occurred?

Hi, thanks for sharing this video, I am a 20year old male and after watching this it turns out I am fully narcissistic. But the thing I dont understand is that you are framing narcissism to be a bad thing? Narcissism is what actually gets me laid. So for that reason I am proud to have this "personality disorder". (I am also writing this comment in hopes of attention from others, hopefully some angry replies)

I looked up psychopath lol, then narc / psycho came up. So I read narc first and now am addicted to the research on it. I understand him. I not fearful to leave Narc library books around. there's a flip side of almost everything that's listed here, and a few things that are missing IMO.
First, let's start with a flip side: I believe every person must value their own life and goals higher than others. Because you need to save yourself first, then save others.
It's nothing bad for aiming to do things you do better than others, because otherwise what the hell... it's your life, you want to make it best for yourself anyway. If you will do things that shine, others will benefit from them too.
It's normal to be disappointed by the critical feedback and take it damn seriously, because it's time of your life. If you spent days on thing, and turns out it's bad - well, you've just wasted days of your very life, and it must be important for you, you won't have a second life. And it MUST be painful, you don't live forever, do you huh?
Now there's the difference: Narcissists never want to see the core of the problems if someone critisizes them. They only try to keep the facade, not questioning the foundation, core of the issues, not questioning that they might wasted a time of life doing things wrong.
And second - narcissists try to exploit people to keep their respectable facade. Because again, facing the core issues is too painful for them, and they can't stand it.

I met a man who i fell in love with and. Was going to Marry... Boy did he have me fooled... He created NARCISSISM... we lived together for about 2 years in the beginning things were sooooo wonderful... But after a while he really started showing his true colors... I told him that i wanted him to move out... That's when alllllll hell broke... He started going out and he would be gone for long periods of time,,, i guess that's when he had other woman... Because trust me he had a lot... And in other staes too... He came home one night and was calling me filthy names... He looked and acted like he had been drinking or drugs... He choked me some how i got away from him and ran screaming... The police came... He got into my car and flew down the street... Police chased him... He's been in jail now for a year n a half... He gets out very soon... I can't sleep because i know he'll come to my home... Omg I'm scared...

Mine didn't have those 3 grandiose symptoms, she actually is outwardly unconfident. Self depricating. She knew she had a hot body, but low self esteem in the sense of her face. She would always say how bad her skin was, and how her vagina smells bad(not a gross joke, she'd always say it). does a narcissist have to meet all of this criteria?
