This shows a sadistic streak in those parents. Introduces a fear factor into every new situation. Yes they adopted the pup, but denied their children the true joy of adopting the pet they wanted and bringing it home. They chose to induce a tearful panic stricken reaction in their children as a joke? They denied their children the true joy of adoption.That is the the first minutes when a child bonds with a pet they have picked out and experience that wonder and love for a new animal.
Was the dad in on it? Did he know what his wife was doing to the children?

I can’t believe a mom did that to their children. I wouldn’t even do that to an adult. It’s not a prank by any means. If I had my heart set on a puppy and then was told no I’d be crying too. And I’m 57! I’m at least happy that they actually got to adopt that adorable little nugget and that the kids seemed to be ok the next day.

I think the mother was cruel those girls teasing them like that. You don't pull on the heart strings of kids like that. Not funny at all, you get satisfaction off crushing the hopes of two young girls and then yo-yo with their emotions by adopting the dog in the end. Not sure what kind of lesson you were hoping to accomplish by doing this other than playing with their emotions and traumatizing them so you could video it and post what a cruel person you are. Idk if i should like this or dislike this.... Those little girls tears pushed me over the edge... Tears pooled and slowly spilled over .. my mother's instinct is to want to hold those babies and comfort them... To tell them its going to be okay... ((My thoughts are memories of me, as a little girl wanting this kitten I found down the street. My pops hates cats... I mean hates them... And yet he found himself buying all the necessities for a kitty that night) my eyes watch the older girl's expression, and my thoughts go to a deeper place, an abyss where I have left all the pain... Thinking of the last time I stared out a window without words as the tears flow. I can't remember... And that sweet precious child says.... I will remember that until I die.... And she stares off again...that pain is real... And forever and ever that precious sweet gift that was chosen to be given, she hurts. and reminds us why adults are messed up. We spend our entire 20s recovering from rhe emotional trauma our parents put us through. This is an example She probably was not intentionally doing this to their children. What makes me feel deep sorrow is that she recorded this. I think i shall dislike this.

@@sandywhite9796 Not equating them to serial killers, I don't know where you got that. It's the same tactic, just applied to the puppy. The girls were not "acting dramatically" those were honest emotions. The mother's leading questions ping ponging back and forth between her girls was just an attempt to escalate their emotions so that when she pulled that trick on them (and there was no proof the father was in on it) there was an evident flip flop of emotions from tears to smiles so that it fit within the timeframe of her video. She used the control she had over the girls and the puppy as the fodder for her own ego. It's emotional torture. All she had to do is tell the girls they were in a video and they would have played along. It didn't help that the first experience that puppy had, after being separated from his mother was being handled by two upset hysterical children. Put the damn cameras down and pick up your children!

I don't know how this Mother can't be direct with her children and rather watch them go through such sadness and painful emotion. It's actually disturbing. There's a way to surprise your kids without putting them through emotional pain. Or did you need that reassurance of how much your kids want a puppy.. I think it would be quite clear in the first place. I also truly hope that once this puppy gets older, these children still love him/her just as much, if not more. A full grown dog and cat are precious, special and adorable too. The senior animals needs homes just as importantly.. ...and are less likely to get adopted. I hope the kids learn that no matter the age of the animal, they are all precious and in need of love.
