13k for an suv with 200k miles is nuts
Especially with a fat person driving it.
It's just the area they in but yes that's crazy
Back in the day when your car had 200,000 miles you gave it to someone like a friend or a cousin because it wasn't worth anything
I agree...(the famous) but. it is a Toyota. If it's nice in/out, and service record (Oil,Oil,Oil) changes done, it should run 300k-500k. Especially if you can take care of a few small things yourself... it may be worth $13k. JMHO --gary
Sellers think it's worth 20k!!😅😅😅😅
They needed $37,000 and couldn’t get $25,000? Someone’s taking a bath.
😅
$37k is a pipe dream on that XT6. I've seen similar mileage retail for less in my area and sit for months.
Auctioneer started at $45k. MF thinking he going to get an $8k premium at auction? Whoever is the manager of that dealership is clearly a MBA with zero experience in any *applied* field.
I remember when houses cost the price of todays trucks
You can get a reasonable house for, less than the upper time / loaded trucks
Gas was 25 cents a gallon and a candy bar was a dime.
I paid $30K in 94 for my home on .75 Ac.....I cant fathom paying more for anything.
It is called inflation.
I have, and will continue to, refrain from purchasing any new vehicle that costs more than our three bedroom ranch style on two acres of land....Just ain't going to happen.
If my buddy’s experience with his 5 series is any indication, that 7 series was probably in good condition because it spent more time at the dealership having repair work done than it did with someone inside it driving around.
If the inside is thrashed, you know they didn't take care of the maintenance. I only buy used cars That Have well maintained interiors.
The other tell is brake dust on the wheels, often to the point that the wheels get corroded. Avoid those cars because they were probably rarely washed or maintained.
And don't get me started on mods...
@hahamasala Wranglers are a good example of vehicles with "mods"... usually way too many of them. No lift kits, no changed out bumpers, no after-market fender flares, etc.
My car is not detailed, and yet I was a mechanic so she is pristine mechanically. I’ve experienced the opposite usually I’ve come across mechanical wrecks where the owners invested more in tire shine n amorall than maintenance
Its a real piece of crap that car. the inside is foul. the battery will be screwed as well, the old hybrids never get their batteries changed, its only worth 2k tops
@@mikythesaint6507 May be maybe not.
The BMW's FIRST owner loves the car. The SECOND owner defers maintenance like he's allergic to it. If it had 11 years of perfect records, it wouldn't be at auction.
That's most people who buy German and british luxury cars second hand unfortunately.
BMW = Broke My Wallet

When are these reduced prices going to make it to the consumer? Seems prices as just as high as ever.
They are way down, but you have to fight for lower prices, they are not lowering the window price.
The host of this site buys low and sells high. His markup is between 40 to 60 percent profit margin.
@@flycatchful Gross profit margin, not net.
@@michaelvanhorn3271 OK, I stand corrected.
They are hoping there are still morons that'll pay sticker. There are. But ever fewer in number cause most have negative equity now
I have noticed that CL is back to normal priced cars again. Been a few years now.
What is your rationale ?
Where? Where do you live?
@@danc9440 the Federal Reserve Note is worthless. The car, housing, and banking industries will crash as a result. Cars being sold on foreclosure will increase. When dealers start being liquidated as a result of bankruptcy, new cars liquidations will set the auction price . He who has gold and silver will be the buyers when the crash hits.
@@jasondavis1502
Great conspiracy Theories there
And we’ve been hearing about the impending crash for going on two years now
Whoever is asking $37K for the Cadillac is suffering from wishful thinking. Try closer to $20k.
That BMW had weather tech floor mats …any time you see those and or nice Michelin tires you know the owner took care of a car
Excellent observation now you should inspect the undercarriage for rust.
I like the editing you do with your Videos. You show the car than you switch it back to the auction then back outside. That’s a great way to do it, very crafty!
You know the diff between a BMW & a porcupine? Pricks on the outside of the porcupine
90% of guys that get a vette for his image , NEEDS ONE !!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂
I would really enjoy if while your checking out the car you say what you would like to pay for it and then see what it goes for at auction. Just a thought.
That Cadillac at the end was a good indicator of the market. Some dealers trying to get what they likely paid for the vehicle on trade and everyone in the room knowing it isn't worth the squeeze with a low margin. I'm now on week two of negotiating with a dealer to what i think is a fair price for a Jeep Grand Cherokee L and they keep threatening that they will just auction the vehicle off for the price they want me to pay and think is fair. Good luck...
Good for you. Stick to your price.
The demand for what your haggling over is low and the dealer is aware of that. Do yourself a favor and make him a firm offer out the door. If we refuses move on and find a dealer who will accept your offer.
#1 rule in bargaining...don't be afraid to walk away. You have the $'s and they want them. You have all the power in that scenario.
80 degrees? It's snowing here in NY, I think I hate you now, lol.
Hate me too. 77 and sunny here N. of Phoenix, AZ. (I'll be jealous of you in July.)
My sister-in-law has driven Subaru's for years. Never owned a dog though. She's a cat lady 😺😺
In more ways than one I assume
i think i felt the auctioneer laughing when he started on the buick at 45K. (i dont think were selling this today, but were doing it anyway) and it only ended in failure.
Who is getting a refund large enough for a car? lol. I get shafted every year with “here’s 50 bucks”.
Dumb people who give the government an interest free loan every year.
At least you dont owe.. the last 3-4 years I've ended up owing an additional $300-500. Single, no dependents, renter. I get shafted lol.
You were not getting shafted, that means your estimated total tax withholdings is accurate
People with children. They get about 4k a child plus daycare refunded.
No, your are not getting shafted. If that is all you are getting back, then you are filing your taxes better than most and not making the government your savings account. You don't want to be getting back large refunds of your own money. In general, that is not some Extra Money most of these folks are getting but their own money they delayed receipt of because they took too many withholding. That situation results in the government basically acting as a temporary savings account - that pays no interest - until these folks file their taxes to reclaim the money they overpaid. They overpay their taxes in order to get that big tax refund back at the end of the year. I used to do that years ago, too, but intentionally because I knew if I had my entire check I'd spend it. It was a sort of forced savings, but to do that means forfeiting the usage of that money, too - and the loss of any interest it could earn, or the reduction of interest I might pay on debt because I didn't have that money in hand.
Most situations, aside from families who may receive earned income credits due to children, as well as home owners receiving credit back due to mortgage payments, etc. should not result in your receiving big tax returns if you file correctly. There is a lot to be said for having use of your money all year vs needing to wait until the end of the year to reclaim it.
I have a 2017 Subaru, no DOG! 😂 it’s been good to me, I’ve put 192K miles on it. Runs good, most highway miles
Hello Brandon , thanks for taking us along. I am still waiting for prices to come down before I buy. Prices are insane at the dealers!

I drive a 2012 Prius with 151k miles which still feels new. Super reliable. Nothing but tires and maintenance required. If you need reliable for cheap, get a Prius.
I am surprised you have not encountered a head gasket issues. That generation is notorious for needing those replaced. I was very interested in a Prius, and had all but locked in a 2007 with about 85k for $7,000, but noticed an occasional sort of faint 'bark' when I would press the brakes. I did some research, and quickly discovered that was the start of an expensive ABS repair - like $3,500-5,000. The dash was already going out, and while I was willing to take on $1,000 for that repair, the brakes going put the cost of the car above its value. Plus, there was another faint odd noise that I think may have been the brake booster - which could have cost $2,000-3,000. The battery had been replaced already, and the replacement had a warranty that needed to be paid each month, but didn't have a lot of pep. The catalytic converter had also already been stolen and replaced. Who knows what other repair was on the wings? The car was in great condition inside and out, too, but was going to be an arm and leg to keep running. I was super interested in the Prius, and I'd heard great things about them, but to buy a car only to immediately begin a number of expensive repairs turned me off to it. I am still very curious about them, but I think I would need to learn how to do a number of these repairs on my own to be able to afford one - and I'm not mechanically inclined. :/
Your brake repair estimates are way out of line. A brake booster is not that expensive and ABS will not keep it from stopping. Someone got a good car which will probably go another 150,000 with all in cost of 7,000 + $3,000 if repaired by the right mechanic.@@CarolinaCarolina-ph9mx
Cheap is a relative term. I’ve looked and it seems like you’re in 30k+ now for a entry Prius.
Mine is a 2015 with 215k. No major issues. Only basic stuff like brakes and wheel bearings. Still gets around 45+ mpg avg
@@CarolinaCarolina-ph9mxyou dodged a bullet. The payback on gas savings is 14 years. Of course it might not last 14 years without another battery. I bought a Honda Civic instead
I have a BMW 5-series. It is garage kept and I love it. It just glides down the road. Haven't had a lot of problems with it. *knocks on wood*
The most expensive German car is a used German car
I was told the most expensive car you can own is a cheap Mercedes.
I purchased a used 2002 SLK 320 with 139K on the odometer. That was 6 years ago and I paid $3100 dollars for it. Since than I have replaced the; water pump, battery, tires and serpentine belt. I would say that is not bad for a car that is 22 years old.
Subaru and dog hair! LOL!
Don't forget that the chick that drives it wears sunglasses and has her ponytail out the back of her ball cap !!!!!😂😂😂😂😂
Got spanked on a low mileage 2003 Suburban in 2021 paying about 44% over book. How times have changed.
That subaru was definitely in a previous accident
Agree. Paint didn't match on the right fender. Plus, I'm guessing it was driven by a serious tailgater, lol.
@@jerryjeromehawkins1712 im thinking all the chips in the paint are from poor prep work on the respray.

Anyone else catch that Pontiac G8 GT in the beginning? ..Wonder what that went for. . . 👀
That was a 328i. You can tell by the exhaust. Dual exhaust on one side = 328i. Single exhaust on one side = 320i. Dual exhaust - 335i.
My friend has a Kia, I feel my credit score goes down when I'm in it! What does Kia mean? Korea in America!
Now that's fuckin funny 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
DON'T touch one of those. I'm still fighting to get them to replace the recalled engine in mine. I loved the thing-when it ran.
Why start at 45K when you need 37k? Figure the system should be designed to bid up. Guess the market is correcting a bit….
No such thing as a bad decision, just a learning experience!!!! 😉
Prices still remain high. Been looking to buy an older (2010-2014) Ford Expedition with 100k ish miles. Good truck with plenty of life left at that mileage and age, but plan on doing work to it. Theres risk and a likely will need to invest money into a vehicle with with 100k+ miles, so I look for a deal. But the prices remain high... And they sit on dealer lots for months and months. I don't get it.
I’m looking for the same thing, 2012-2014ish. Same boat. Prices still too high.
Agree, same here, been looking for a couple of months for a reliable used car and prices are OFF THE CHARTS here in Florida~
Same. Cars and suvs are high, but the price of trucks is straight robbery. 20 years old and more than 200k miles and you see people asking $12.5k and above. What is the matter with these people?
I think these action videos you’re making are really cool! I think you’re gonna really gain traction and get a lot of views! You do a really good job with them!
Chips and dings as well as bugs in the rad are a sign of highway miles. Worn brake pedals and seat belts are a sign of city miles.
What’s better highway miles or city miles
@gdbrojus Highway mileage are better

That 14 year old, 200k 4Runner looks phenomenal! Wow. For the age and mileage.
edit: lately I have noticed youtube has been deleting civil/friendly replies to my comments. I get a notification of the reply and I am able to read a portion of the reply, however when I go to read message reply in my inbox it is gone.. when I go to thread to read the reply from my comment there it is gone as well.
If you have sent a civil/friendly reply and I have not responded back to you, I am not ignoring you.. this seems to be another one of youtube's social (from the narcissistic/borderlines running alphabet inc.) engineering tactics to further divide and conquer, drive people apart and away from each other, keep people from communicating.
So does my 2002 Mercedes SLK 320.
Right on.. the majority of people usually take very good of a car like that.
But most 4Runners and four wheel drive vehicles are often driven into the ground, especially a 14 year old one. This one here in the video seems to have been well used in all of its 14 years but also well cared for in the process and has held up fairly well other than the minor cosmetic scuffs and blemishes. Paint and body overall looks pretty good and it doesn't appear to have any sort of rust anywhere. With my car, for it's age and mileage it does show some minor blemishes and I don't mind that used look it has.. but it does still show quite well for an old Toyota almost half the age of this one shown here.
I prefer to keep a car nice, clean and well maintained but it isn't always easy to keep it absolutely pristine all the time and I have had to come to terms with that when I drove a brand new car several years back.. not so pleasant things are going to happen that will negatively affect the appearance.@@flycatchful

Grace Quality Cars up here in taxachusetts repaints fleet vehicles that they flip. Ex police vehicles like crown vics, ford explorers and chargers that look brand new because they did bodywork and a quick paintjob that they do on site in one of the mechanics bays. Nothing like a vacuum and new paint to make something look new. They are running a special buy here pay here for 129 down and 129 to finance no matter what your credit situation. What they don't put in the ad is that it's 129 per week not per month. They say after three years you own it. That is over 18 grand and that doesn't count the interest, fees and monthly insurance.
Hahaha....You could die from the germs....So hilarious! For this reason, I liked and subscribed to make you feel better. Please keep up with awesome vid.
First I want to compliment you on these videos, they are really informative and entertaining and have continously gotten better. I want to ask a question in regards to manual cars, how often do you see them in the auctions you go to?, and are they priced less expensively?
It would be interesting to have you explain the mechanics of a dealer auction car purchase, especially how dealers take financial possession. Check? Cash? Floorplan finance procedure? Transportation as well.
A been watching your channel for a while now!! You bring alot of new information that has really brought a lot of insight to the auto industry - TY!

The reason that the hood on that green Subaru is all rock chipped up is because it was replaced and not prepped properly before it was painted

Look at the Toyota Sienna for your kid-hauler. Some of the rear seats recline and everything, if you get the right options they're really plush. But, I know, mini-van. If you can get past that they really are cruisers, plus Toyota, so it's gonna last forever.

Thanks to 70mai for sponsoring!! FYI the discount code is not accepted with the spring sale, so it doesn't stack 15% on top of the 25% sale to get 40%.
Someone is delusional with that XT6. Did a quick look in my area. A 2021 AWD luxury with 25k miles is going for $34k. Even that has been sitting on the lot for months.....good luck
2005 prius with 200k miles?.. yeah that would 50 bucks, which might be 50 bucks too much
no but I would expect a teen to scrape $500 to get their first car off a local but then I would expect the auction to go for $400 so they could sell it for $1000 Anything you can legally drive and get a 30 day warranty is worth a $1000 in this day and age. But yeah if money has to go into it before the sale, I dont know who buys that off a lot for 1800

I've seen a few Mini Coopers on the auction lots in the background. Curious to see how those fare at auction.
4 runners great trucks, keep value and reliability.💯
Not wrong, but when buying used you still don't know how it's been treated or maintained. The prices of used vehicles, Toyota or what have you, should reflect the risk involved in buying it. Anyone who buys anything for the prices you see currently (at least in my area) doesn't value their money at all.
