If a dealership can't clean the trash out of the car I absolutely will not even look at it. If a dealer puts that on their website I wouldn't buy from them at all out of principle.
Sounds like these cars were originally intended to be sold at a/their dealership. No one wanted to pay their outrageous prices so they are cutting their loses at auction.
If it makes a car cheaper then for low spenders ie people who are not middle class such are potential opportunities provided there isn't too much needed to get said cars back on the road in a respectable condition. That all said bio cars are often a hard sell especially if there are needles or a lot of mold etc.

Ironically with that chocolate bar that’s what buying a car feels like you go to the cars website and see 30k for a car. Yet bozos are paying $30k+ for a high mileage 3rd gen.
No worse than the freeeakishly stupid people paying $30k for a used 3rd gen Tacoma with 100k miles. They have to completely oblivious to all the mechanical issues with that generation of Taco.
I was an auction driver for my friends small dealership. Travel time is one part of the job. In addition to driving, I wandered the pre-auction lines, looking for cars he would be interested in. We both busted our tails...all day long...watching auction lanes..and outside scoping out incoming cars...often in miserable upstate NY weather. We'd come back to the store exhausted. It is hard work people!
I wonder what the full story is on that car, and cars like it. Escalades aren't cheap -- is this another in the Parade of Broken Dreams (someone bought something they THOUGHT/HOPED! they could afford, and turned out they couldn't?)
Part of the paint problem is with the switch to aluminum body panels. My BIL ran a body shop for many years and he said the aluminum used on Ford trucks didn't have that problem, but pretty much everything else did. The switch to water based paints didn't help either.
Yeah the Mustang/Explorer lawsuit over hoods with peeling paint was brought up as a warning ahead of the 2015 F-150. Ford couldn't get paint to stick to aluminum back then and there was a lot of concern that a truck with a body totally made of aluminum would be a disaster. Seems hit or miss when it comes to the paint issue with the F-150 though.
In a few months floor planning providers will start snatching up entire lots full of cars to dump in the auction. I think that will start mid summer and peak around Sept. '24 through tax time '25/.
You should be looking at the SUGAR content of your food much more than the calories. SUGAR is what’s bad and gains weight. I lost 40 lbs when I cut out sugar.
"Makes me want to throw up" 😂😂😂😂😂 I love your videos when your not behind the desk, unless your interviewing a guest?!! Brandon, you were on your game today with the commentary, you had my old ass cracking up!!! Keep up the videos in the field!
The time to pay dues are fast approaching. The debt repayment for most in the U.S.A. will be very painful & long lasting. Big surprise's instore for many.
I'm keeping my 8 yr old paid off 328i. People are keeping older cars rather than going to war with car dealers over prices. Or paying for an overpriced newer car with high interest and car insurance in Florida. Thks for video.
Careful. All that lightweight plastic used in the cooling and induction systems will become brittle with heat and age. It’s not unusual to find a puddle of coolant under your car when something gives way. Replacing the broken component then becomes a series of cascade failures as every plastic part you touch breaks as you try to remove it to access the first broken part. Remember the rule of BMW - If you can’t afford to buy a new one, you can’t afford to repair an old one. 😜
I have the 6 seater with the drop down center console in my 2500. I actually really like it plus it also means I have a column shifter. To each their own 🤷🏻♂️
My 1983 GMC 2500 Diesel has sat outside its entire life. I live in snow country and in the summer, I go to the city of Redding, CA where it is 115 degrees at times. I washed the truck one time in 10 years. This last summer, I washed and polished the paint. It shines like my neighbor's 2023 Mercedes... The paint is perfect. AND my truck is a wood hauling truck!!! Yes, older paint is a lot better that the junk they have on cars these days. Of course, my old 1989 Ford F250, that I had in the mid 90s had half the paint peeling. I bought the truck used with 60,000 miles on it, went to the Ford dealership and they had Ford itself pay to have my truck repainted at an independent shop near my house for free (50 miles from the Ford dealership). Try to get that kind of loyalty today from any manufacturer.
@@madcowusa4277 Same here. I have the slow, but steady 6.2 ltr Detroit Diesel, with a 3 spd manual with granny gear. Great for going into the National forest to get wood. It can't go much faster than 60 mph, but it sure has been reliable.
4:51 Hyundai has had a real problem with their white paint peeling off vehicles. A class action suit was filed a couple of years ago but the judge sided with Hyundai. It's very common to see vehicles from the mid to late 2000 teens with this issue. Hyundai is well aware of it but refuses to accept accountability.
Same with Toyota. Except they extended the warranty for most of their vehicles having this issue -- but only to a certain point. And they would only repaint the panels peeling before the warranty expired, even though they knew the whole car would peel eventually. Shame on Toyota as well.
Thanks again Brandon, fully agree on the food issue and celebrate your careful 'review' of the Reese's bar. Unfortunately, manufacturers in general 'own' govt agencies (see lobbying) and misleading costumers is not the exception but, the rule.
Hey Brandon, thanks for the videos. There are a lot of channels taking about car market but you are the only one that shows the auctions. Please check some family vehicles: SUVs, Minivans, etc
I'm up in Canada. I bought a new 2022 honda civic Touring back in 2021 for around 30K. The used car market up here is so insane that I saw someone try and sell my exact car with 35000 KM (21747 Miles) and light body damage for 40000 dollars. That blew me away.
These auction episodes are educational and have a way of 'gamifying' the content as we see the scores on these cars. I learn a lot from this channel. Keep NC rockin' Brandon! LOL
Most manufactures have switched to environmentally friendly water based paints! The paint & finish just doesn't hold up to Father Time like the old paints of years ago did!
About the paint, it often looks to me like there is no primer, as if they just slapped paint on top of metal. To me, paint seems to stick much better to a coat of primer than to bare metal.
Worked auctions in Kenly, Statesville, Greensboro Monday thru Wednesday. Fredericksburg VA one week on Thursday Darlington SC the next. For years. Loved it.

It would be great to hear from other regions of the country or other parts of the world. Portion size and calories is just as much of a challenge to decipher reading as the fine print in a car dealers' sales contract.
You may be a small used car dealer but the more experienced you get the better your business grows hell even one day you'll probably have multiple Lots across the state
I worked for a Nissan dealer 2012-2013. The convertible Muranos never worked right. That convertible top repair was done over and over, even after customers waiting 8-10 months for parts!
I paused the video at 9:53 at the Silverado. Two things: 1) Sometimes you get bad batches of paint. The 80-90's C/K GM trucks are known for peeling paint if you didn't wax and protect like crazy. My 1994 has spots now... 2) Bench seat is where it's at! Family of 4 here and we can take the whole family plus the 2 grandparents out and not have to take two vehicles! Plus the amount of times I've need to slide across the front because some ding dong parked too close to my driver side door. Bonus) Plus there's no need to have a console wasting space, you can place a purse, backpack, even a box on the floor. Not too often you fill up a console. There's more things you can do with a bench than a console, but this post is already far too long. Have a great week and enjoy your videos, Just don't get too old and extreme with your comments, haha. Ugliest car ever. What about the VW It? Or the Pontiac Azteca? Or a Toyota Prius (which looks similar (via your video) if you ask me.
The paint issue you are seeing is when manufacturers had to switch to water based paints and they didn't have the formula perfected for different variables like solvent based paints
I love the center front seat/bench front seat, wish it wasn't only in older cars and limited amounts of trucks now. They are cozy for big people vs the center console.
As always, enjoyed the chance to "look behind the curtain" and see what really goes on in these auctions -- in a business I've had to deal with occasionally, but never be a part of. As always, your request (like and subscribe) has been honored. @20:23 is probably the most Kenny Powers statement I've heard in a long time. If you want something sweet that isn't terribly calorie dense then you'll probably want to go for the "Kind Sea Salt and Dark Chocolate" bars. They also make a "protein" version that isn't as high calorie as the bar you hold up in your video. There's also a "caramel" version of their protein bar that's pretty good, too. You should check them out.
Got a crew cab with bench seat like that and its ideal for my 4 kid family to the park and beach. Getting harder to find the bench seats these days when the built in consoles with subwoofers are boss.
Yeah, I love the bench seat in my 2011 Silverado. I usually leave the console up and out of the way. I use the storage under the center instead of the storage over the center of the seat.
My husband’s F150 is a “bench” seat like that and I LOVE it. Because I get to scoot over closer to him and he seats a bit closer to me and it’s nice and cute… Even with the kids on the back singing baby shark and what not… 🥰💕💕💕 But besides that, we have squeezed 6 people in his truck a few times more than I ever thought we would… Kinda handy… 🥰💕💕💕
I'm a dealer and tax money is rolling in but I'm getting a ton of clowns who are showing me screenshots of what ever the lowest online book value is, the numbers they are showing are below what the cars are going through at auction. As for the cars that are selling its low priced units and higher priced ( for my lot) trucks. Nissan is toxic in my area because of their CVT reputation, and Hyundai/ Kia are hard to insure. Hard hit value wise are minivans and older Tahoes, expeditions they aren't pulling anywhere near what they were during the pandemic.
Ref Car paint failures. (I'm a retired former 25 yr's plus autobody heavy collision repair's & 5 yr Boeing 747 / 767 Aircraft Painter) It seems certain automotive paints suppliers go through a phase of product failure due to a number of reasons. In the 1980's Ford's had paint problems (paint just peeling off.) Then the 1990's Chrysler had paint problems (paint just peeling off. claimed to be lack of adhesion.) Somewhere I remember Toyota's had clear coat paint problems. I don't think it can be pointed to just one problem as to paint, seems to be the result of bad paint chemical designs, in my humble opinion.
Some food products use smaller serving sizes in order to avoid getting banned. For example, they can't sell anything with transfat in moar places, but if the amount is below some number *per serving,* then they're allowed to say it's, "transfat free." It's all just a game to them.
Kias and hyundai have a serious paint issue with that particular white. They have been sued over it via class actions previously. They also extended the paint warranty at one point previously
16:47 that dealership is smart in getting those cars detailed before sending them off to the auction, because all those cars, ESPECIALLY THAT ESCALADE AND S550 have TRANSMISSION ISSUES LOL
Just wanted to say thank you for not using Click Bait titles and the classic "OMG, What's Happening" facial contortion thumbnails like those other clowns.
For a number of years, the factory peeling paint, unless redone, is almost always due to delamination. To meet EPA requirements, for a number of years, most manufactures put less clear coat over the colors causing the color to delaminate (break down) and clear peels away. If not fixed, the color also gets weaker and the next thing you may see is base sealer and corrosion.

This channel never disappoints
Got a crew cab with bench seat like that and its ideal for my 4 kid family to the park and beach. Getting harder to find the bench seats these days when the built in consoles with subwoofers are boss.
Yeah, I love the bench seat in my 2011 Silverado. I usually leave the console up and out of the way. I use the storage under the center instead of the storage over the center of the seat.
Car buyer here. I buy a car about every 5 years. Really enjoy this kind of content.
The information is a guide to being successful knowing the ins and outs about cars. Keep up the good work.
Paint release is from the actual paint layer being too thin. (proud owner of a Lexus recall)
those paint areas are flaking right off. Cheap is and cheap does.
My husband’s F150 is a “bench” seat like that and I LOVE it. Because I get to scoot over closer to him and he seats a bit closer to me and it’s nice and cute… Even with the kids on the back singing baby shark and what not… 🥰💕💕💕
But besides that, we have squeezed 6 people in his truck a few times more than I ever thought we would… Kinda handy…
🥰💕💕💕
Wow this guy knows what as is means. I am impressed !!!!!!!!!!!!
Those cars that were detailed were sitting on a lot and weren’t selling that’s why they are at auction
The candy bar part had me laughing.
Brandon, it’s peanut butter and chocolate! Thanks for the videos.
Appreciate the information your giving
And I use the center seat in my truck's front bench occasionally - joys of having 6 kids!
I lived near a GM Truck Dealer from 2010 to 2017. Was somewhat shocked at Truck prices at retail.
Always enjoy your podcasts w/ Michael the real estate dude in FL
Michael is a great guy!
I love this channel!...
Good Afternoon Brandon 🌞🌟🤩☀️
To answer your question, mid 2000 epa force manufacturer to switch to water base paint instead of solvant.
Some food products use smaller serving sizes in order to avoid getting banned.
For example, they can't sell anything with transfat in moar places, but if the amount is below some number *per serving,* then they're allowed to say it's, "transfat free."
It's all just a game to them.
Kias and hyundai have a serious paint issue with that particular white. They have been sued over it via class actions previously. They also extended the paint warranty at one point previously
18:20 it toke me 7 months of looking. Can feel that pain.
Thanks for your Time my friend.
truck prices are still insane. absolutely insane
16:47 that dealership is smart in getting those cars detailed before sending them off to the auction, because all those cars, ESPECIALLY THAT ESCALADE AND S550 have TRANSMISSION ISSUES LOL
Thanks I appreciate your time.
Just wanted to say thank you for not using Click Bait titles and the classic "OMG, What's Happening" facial contortion thumbnails like those other clowns.
Chevy emblem looks like an art masterpiece. It's a guy wearing a hoodie showing off his log cabin homestead up in the hills!
Quality of most items have gone down in the last decade, for example furniture, appliances, RVs etc.
For the paint issue, my guess would be environmentally friendly paint
