i agree
It is happening as we speak. Economy imploding. Jobs lost. People giving back their cars. Loans delinquent. Housing unaffordable because of inflation. Cars unaffordable because of inflation. Wholesale car prices down. Electric vehicles massive depreciation - 40% in a year. Elon Musk screwing every Tesla owner by slashing prices. The small EV mfgs getting ready to file bankruptcy. They won’t be in business for long 😂. Once the floor plan repos the vehicles bye bye.
Want in one hand and what's in the other?
I’ve never been a jeep guy but the wrangler has a real enthusiast community, that drives the prices up for them
Who knew scamming your customers on price would backfire?
The are now reaping what they sowed! Good riddance!
They've collected all their money and now they're running away
GM sold 594,233 vehicles already this year.
That's emotional. We don't buy on emotion. We buy on data. So if a deal comes up that's the deal that fits your criteria and is at or below your bottom price......you should be buying.
Doesn't matter how much those dealers made in the past. That shouldn't stop you from taking advantage of a steal of a deal.
Karmas a bitch! Car dealers train the salesman now to screw the customers out of every penny they can.
Everyone involved screwed themselves. The dealers couldn't have sold for outrageous prices if people weren't willing to pay it. People wouldn't have been paying those prices if banks weren't authorizing the loans. Plain and simple. If you needed a car cause you were in a tight spot, that's one thing. But nobody NEEDED a 100,000 mile charger at $15k over blue book. Nobody NEEDED brand new $90k everyday city driving trucks. They all played themselves. Not just the dealers.
I am old enough to remember when mileage actually played a significant part in the price. I’d never pay over 2k for any car with over 100000 miles on it.
These people are crazy. I wouldn't trade my 04 Toyota for any of these! Mine is paid for and needs repairs now and again. These need repairs and a 600+ a month payment!
Keeping my 07 civic forever Watch the auctions for fun
My 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid has 433,467 miles no issues at all. Very reliable hybrid car.
Your's is the only one.
My 2012 Accord is less reliable than every. I've ever owned this far. It's not terrible but, I'm certainly not happy with it with my 90-130k ownership this far. Commuter car full records. Not a good car at all.
Turns out Toyotas and Hondas all have similar issues to many other manufacturers but no one talks about them to justify their bias for Hondas and Toyota.
I will see many parts are quite cheap to repair my Accord, so I guess I'll hang onto it
@@Christdelivermemaybe you got a lemon. My mom’s 13 accord engine gave out at 226k miles. Replaced the engine with a 45k mile one for 700 bucks 😂. Still cheaper than a newer car
@@mvc2177 What matters to me isn't the anecdotal evidence of owners, based on what I said it has to be thrown out. Bias.
What I do pay attention to are what mechanics are doing.
I've also owned a 2014 Accord coupe. V6 6mt. Would grind going into reverse randomly and worst of all a cylinder head had to be replaced because of porosity. The exhaust monoblock literally weeped coolant out of it.
I had a 2014 4-cylinder sport 6mt, nice car but it took had manual transmission issues from time to time (that was my first ever Honda, hence the lease)
But because I don't have any skin in the game I'm one of those consumers that tell it like it is.
Not many car are very reliable these days. The 90's legendary problem immunity Honda and Toyota had isn't quite what it was.
Every car from every manufacturer must be taken on a case by case basis. Some model years are home runs some are not.
@@mvc2177 Well, that's exactly right about keeping this beater 2012... Yeah it has problems and no one respects it at all (crash into it etc) but it's cheap to repair, like the way GM, Ford and Dodge used to be (but are no longer) so I keep my 2012, despite torque converter shuddering and can't keep an axle in balance.
I dunno about you, but I'm still scratching my head over a 2024 Tacoma Pro for $65k. The balls Toyota has grown.
Fools will buy. They should have made them 100k.
65k is like the new 45k it seems
Because people are willing to pay it
AdventureShop, a year and a half ago I lost my Tacoma to a careless driver. I went to a Toyota dealership and there were no new Tacomas available. I would have had to get on a wait list, so they tried to sell me a 2-year-old used Tacoma for MORE than a new one. I refused and decided to check out a Subaru Forester. Same situation, they tried to sell me a used one for more than a new one and when I asked to see a side-by-side used vs new price comparison the salesman wouldn't do it telling me the push to sell used was coming from the highest levels of Subaru itself, not his dealership. Seems like an industry wide shift, perhaps orchestrated on higher levels to get fewer people driving cars.
The price will come down when they can keep up with demand.
It still amazes me how people nowadays will send a trashed vehicle through the auction and bjtch because they dont get the money they want. Somehow folks cant seem to wrap their heads around the fact if you spend a couple,e hundred dollars in just cleaning/detailing a vehicle, it can result in thousands more at the sale.
Even private sellers dont seem to understand a cleaned vehicle will sell easier and for more money than something that is trashed. Detail them before taking the pics and listing them for sale.
I use to go to Palm Beach Auto Auction,, years ago, I could never understand why a dealer would not spend a hour to clean up a car,, clean ones bring more money...
Called laziness and they think the cars will sell for prime $ anyway, so screw the customer.
I think your right. Goes for any item, especially used items, cars maybe more, cleaning cost pays for itself. People "wear" a car, in a literal and figurative sense. Clean inside especially important.
I thought it was "Junk a thon" when they have their sale..
Jeeps are bro' lifestyle vehicles. But inevitably, bro's GF announces that there's a mini bro in the oven and big bro's off-road Jeep lifestyle goes to auction in favor of a dad-bod minivan.
A lot of women love Jeep. A four door wrangler or Cherokee can fit at least one child and related lifestyle.
I have two car seats in mine.
That’s what my bro”s said when My first daughter was born, I said she’ll fit in the backseat of my MUSTANG. A and now 20+ years later I still have it…
Stop talking about me bro 😢
Its called the Jeep Goaway event
Or the Jeep You Can't Imagine How High We're Asking Event.
Or The Jeep We Must Be High To Ask This Much Sales Event.
Even the auction house looks pretty dead
Is it Dealer only? Or can privates buy.
my buddy bought a Jeep brand new and kept it for like 2 months was nothing but a problem
That Honda Pilot with 212k miles would've grabbed only $1,700 instead of $2,400 if it wasn't detailed... Great job.
Many car dealers are in denial. My nearest Dodge dealer wants 27k for a Challenger SXT, another Dodge dealer 37 miles away wants 20k for a Challenger SXT. Both new, both 2023 and less than $200 difference between MSRPs.
If I wanted that specific model car I would gladly travel 200 miles to save 7k
dealerships used to acknowledge this
That 37 mile drive pays for itself instantly.
Good.
Fuck greed.
Greed is the real inflation! Crazy out there!
Itz the murrikkkan way. Humpty dumpty sat on his pot of gold...
Still waiting for prices to return closer to normal. On both cars and houses. Once the layoffs really pick up, things will return to normal.
The cynic in me thinks that BlackRock will buy the houses, keeping the market inflated.
It won't happen because of how much more money is in circulation today compared to pre-pandemic.
Not happening.
Adjust to the new normal, good luck.
I'll need some myself.
I don't get big dealers sending through dirty cars either. I mean, a $20 hour of an employee to get minimum $2-300 more for the vehicle because people can tell the actual condition has gotta be worth it.
Toyota hybrid batteries easily make it to 200k usually. Even replacing batteries or just individual cells can be worth it because you'll get longer out of it.
Replaced the battery pack in daughter’s 2012 Prius C $3,600 with install. 10 yr old car with 150k and still like new.
You don't need the battery to drive the car on gas. The batteries come with a 8-year 120,000 mi warranty minimum
@@MiteshDamania yep, car was 10 when we bought it and battery pack out of warranty. It’s been such a great car and looks new that the cost was well worth it if we get another 10 out of it.
@@patrickhill8748 looks like Toyota wants to keep its reputation for hybrids intact
With a Toyota hybrid as long as you keep the vent that blows air to the battery clean there is no reason the battery shouldn't last as long as the car.
I look at used cars at major dealers they have listed for sale and they are not even detailed. Some are gross.
The only people that need cars are people that work. I don't work, retired, and I have two trucks and a jeep and not getting rid of any of them.
you could buy a house for the prices of newer cars. thats why they arent selling and why i keep and drive a 20 year old car
Mine is 28 years old, probably one day in my life I will have a new car.
😅 forget about the skyrocketing new car prices and people going in debt, car buying in general is very stressful even if you have the cash, as I recently bought a 2012 WK2 Hemi from a private seller.
Even after I paid in full with cash I still don’t feel I own it, as it’s now sitting in a shop getting stuff touched up and inspected. After that it’s time to wrestle with the insurance company before I could get it plated by the DMV.
Every step of the way there’s gimmicks and scams, and you need to pay extra for the stuff you already own just to operate it. How miserable…
This format is my favorite for your channel, even though I listen to the others. I bet the editing is a handful, but I really do like the way you edit these. Very tight and professional.
We need to get rid of car dealerships and just buy directly from factory. Lazy ass car sales people.
+1, too many hands in the cookie jar
Yeah, dealers suck. They want full sticker price on new 2023's and they won't budge. I hope their vehicles sit and rot away.
You think the OEM is going to be any different? HA HA HA HA HA
@@NoDaysOff-oz2zl yeah. Not having to deal with dbag car sales people. Just point click buy and it's delivered. Less overhead. No sales people no building no electric no property taxes no dealer fees. Just factor direct. You might have to get a real job.
@@na2305 Do you think Manufacturers would budge? Just look at Musk's scam.
Karma really came back around on these dealers. The smallest violin is in for repairs so I have no music to play
Not selling their car is NOT a problem. They have their cars. The problem is those who borrowed aren't paying their loan and that is very good. If one give u OVERPRISED car, you use it for free and tell them to collect it if they want their junk back!!!
I’m 49 years old. Every single person I have met with only one exception that owned a Jeep was broke as phuck.
My bosses son owns a Wrangler and he works at the office with me. Last time he needed a repair on the jeep his daddy paid for it because he couldn't afford it. Cost 6 grand to fix it
2014 Camry Hybrid. Had 288K. Replaced battery @ 250K. Battery placement was 2,200 w/lifetime warranty. And they came to my house and installed it
Thats a great deal! Where are you based?
Good info, I have a hybrid Camry (2019) and I was wondering.
And you probably don't need the battery to drive the car anyways. Was it through Toyota?
@@key2lifeguac La, CA. It's a national company (do not have the receipt in my hand) but it's refurbished batteries. Toyota's replacement is bout 4K ish. Use the camry for uber.
Immediately after the "on call" the auction lot should start charging $500 per week rental storage fee for cars, Watch how damn quick the dealers will let them go. Or they can take them back to their own lots and see them there.
People - some people - in sales have a different goal than "sell this item/service"
Instead, they have a pretty radically different goal: *_"DO NOT SELL THIS UNLESS I CAN GET WHAT I WANT FOR IT"_*
I've seen this when I've bought property, motorcycles, new cars from dealers.
You have to understand - this is NOT A NUANCED CHANGE in selling strategy. It is a way of behavior.
"I refuse to sell unless I get what price I want" It's not stubbornness, it is a practice of a different goal. The goal is not "I gotta sell this"
The goal is "I'm getting my price for this or I'm not selling". It does make sense for a dealer because they probably think "I have to get myself used to the idea of not selling. If I just buckle and sell for less than I want, over the huge number of cars/houses/etc. I sell, I will lose a ton of money if I develop the 'bad' habit of giving in to low offers"
So they practice their ability to NOT SELL unless they get their price. It's just one of the ways to approach sales. It's frustrating for buyers if the price is just unreasonable, though.
Good insight
Then we need to stick to not buying them unless they come back down to earth and get their heads out of their posteriors.
Auction houses should charge run through and storage fees. It wastes everyone's time to run through cars with impossible to hit price minimums.
Let these people go out of business, buy cars from offer up instead!!! Nothing wrong with a junker for 1000 bucks!
Well, except that it's a junker...
I’ve seen decent cars on OfferUp
Saw a few 4Runners that can be used for strictly off roading for less than 10k and look in excellent shape.
Gives you more money to fix it up/customize
@@brettloo7588Yeah, since you can guarantee that private dealers are selling you a vehicle with a disguised "blown transmission" at full value so misewell buy the junker and throw parts at it or just try to get it past inspection by clearing the codes and break down and do it over again.
It's pretty hard to find a junker for $1000 these days.
People would probably mess with it, but that USA car looked cool.

People live like pigs these days. My husband's old job used to take him into people's houses and so many people are gross, some even living with dog poop on their floors with more than one pile. Thank goodness, his new job is with installing security cameras at stores and he gets paid more and no longer has to deal with homes. Some homes he used to go into he refused service because it was a biohazard, so I am not surprised at some gross cars.
Now these are the videos I prefer. This is where Brandon is at his Best!
if the auctioneers are in such a hurry to run all the cars through, I don't understand why they don't start the bidding at the reserve price (if the car has one) and just NO sell it if there are no bids. They waste so much time lowering the price just to get ANY bid then NO SELL or IF bid.
Good point
But then, you don’t get the “hebbity higgy ribba riggity 12.5 wiggity wiggle hemmena 12.6”
Agreed. Pointless waste of time to allow any bids below minimum reserve price. If you want to sell with a reserve price: that's the first bid.
Because they want the noise, the hype, and the frenzied excitement in the hope of getting an overbid. You don't get that if you just say: Reserve price is 12K, do I have 12K, no? Then no sale."
Them jeeps get bad reviews in consumers reports. 😑

I haven't seen an 80's Toyota since 1998. They all disintegrated from rust rot long ago.
I put seat covers on my 2017 Prius from day 1. I am on my 2nd set of seat covers. There is a company that will come to your house and replace the lead corp batteries in the hybrid for 1900.00. My 2017 Prius has the more advanced (and lighter) lithium-ion battery. I'm not sure about replacing them. They are fully warranted for 10 years.
Our Highlander Hybrid had close to 300000 on the original hybrid battery when we sold it. The Toyotas don't have the battery issues.
Yes they do. I owned one myself. Your hybrid doesn’t speak for all
You do no sales in an upward market. You take the first buyer in a downturn market. Because that is the best price you've going to get.
I bought a 2004 Honda Pilot for 3k with 150k miles. Light repairs needed but sometimes I forget the car is on it’s so quiet when idle. When you actually look for something that you use everyday it’s fine to take your time. Instead of rushing into debt and throwing your money away on a plastic trash can with CarPlay.
I see alot of people saying dealers screwed customers. Dealers didnt screw customers. Customers screwed themselves. The dealer didnt make all those buyers pay 20%-75% above MSRP. People were flush with money and unfortunately not as equipped with knowledge.
The time to get on a soap box and boycott "unfair practices" was when they FIRST started doing market adjustments and bogus fees. No.......everybody wanted to keep buying. Now because people cant deal with what they/we (consumers) have created....they pass the blame to the dealer.
Customers speak with their feet. So the lions share of the blame lies with the consumers.
I know noone wants to admit it. Its easier to pass the buck than to take accountability. But thats the hard truth.
You ought to buy those jeeps for Flying Wheels. His customers love them and a rust free example would fly off the lot.

Great content ❗️ I guess they hate you for exposing the behind the scenes NONE SALES lol as per your other video
Need to see a few “property for sale” signs on dealer lots this summer, then prices might be down where there should be.
I've decided it's time for me to buy something. Summer is on the way and I have some road trips I want to do. I've already got it planned. There's a place near my work with a few cars I've been checking out. No one in my town is moving anything so I know they're getting desperate. My plan is to keep banking my cash and then I'm going in at 530PM on friday May 31. They close at 630 so if they want to sell a car that'll be the LAST chance they have to sell one for the month. If they want the sale they'll have to work with me. If they stick to their guns they can keep the car and I'll go elsewhere. But if they're willing to work with me they'll have a sale.
Stellantis calls it the “Firing all Jeep Engineers Sales Event”
Honestly, I think we're in a new phase of the business cycle. Huge brodozers are out and efficient compact cars are back in.
What year was the Red Toyota Corola? Did it have a lot of miles?
I’m the internet sales manager/ business development manager for a Hyundai dealer. Sales have slowed down drastically in my 5 years of doing this. People are stuck on the $180 lease payments, lots of people let their credit slip the last few years so even used cars are too much. Cost of taking in “value cars” just isn’t worth it for what we have to buy them for at auction and cost of parts/repairs. Every section of the industry is hurting. It’s a lose lose for everyone. Edit to add for people who don’t know - manufactures increase MSRP last couple years and we are restricted with how much we can discount, they put limits on dealer discounts. We want to blow out units but the manufacturer has changed the rules. Don’t always blame dealers, look at what the manufacturers are up to behind the scenes recently.
I was driving a car through my local auction the other day & was having a lil too much fun playing w the clutch on the WRX… but of course nobody told me it was a dead battery on a manual transmission lol… so of course my cocky ass stalled and then had to run and find a jump box 🤦🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️😂
prices are high i have not seen them come down yet no rebates on new cars
Cars are generally just too expensive.... They are a disintegrating purchase that's headed to zero always....
Tell that to a gold digging wife.
Used car values are going down for trade ins / auctions, but new car prices are thru the roof. Its a lose-lose situation for customers. I was contemplating trading my truck in for something newer, but I just figure that i'll drive my tacoma til the wheels fall off
If you happen to come across a Ford explorer or two, please show what they bring. I was offered 500$ for my 2014 with 225k . It needs a windshield and a good cleaning. Mainly the carpet. I have already fixed the torque converter shudder.

Really love your videos...thanks for sharing your knowledge!!!
Trying to buy good value and flip to needy customers is an honorable thing. When things go bad,..a cheap car can be a lifeline.
Truth. That't the exact situation I was in last year. '96 Ford Explorer was living up to "Fix Or Repair Daily" (after 8 years of beating on it, whaddya expect?) and it was nickel & dimeing me into poverty. So...managed to scrape together some money & bought an '03 Toyota Matrix. Had it for just over 7 months, only real mechanical issue is a funky idle (which I'll be addressing this weekend - replace intake manifold gaskets (both on the engine end and the throttle body end), give the throttle body a throrough cleaning and a fresh set of plugs); other than that all it really needed was a fresh set of tires. Looks a bit ratty, but mechanically it's pretty sound. And...it got me out of the poor house. ❤
If you could show some 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, Thanks and enjoy your videos from central Fl.
So what happens to the used car market in 10-12 years when all that is out there are used hybrids nobody want to put a very expensive battery in.
Still cratering. Job losses picking up speed along with inflation. It's not going to get better for awhile.
