Not done a bathroom other than my own in 15 years 👍 then I went self employed and I've got at least 10 in the pipe line since the beginning of March. Considering taking up electrics 🤔
Too many regs involved with electrics. I prefer gas easier and quicker turnover. Dreaded regs prevent us from doing board changes. Say if a customer says they don't want 6mm earth bonding upgraded to the specified 10mm. Regs would superceed all. So technically I wouldn't be able to legally do the CU change. Too much ball ache with electrics.
I stopped doing bathroom suites around 5 years ago. Best decision ever. I was too busy. Now free to do more profitable work. I too do lots of small jobs. Also fit around 25 boilers a year. Great video again
I've never seen a window break and have worked on hundreds of these beasts did not know about the bulletin either was it recent ? you learn something new everyday, just found your channel its very good
Great video mate quick question as I’m an installer and want to get into doing breakdowns and fault finding as would benefit me and customers doing it all. Is there any courses You went to learn how to do this and can recommend or did U train with someone as an apprentice and learn. Iv been on a manufacturer course to service a boiler but never any hands on changing parts etc
Another interesting video. I've heard you mention the window on the CDi electrodes a few times now . What's the score with that? Is it an official Worcester recall to change them for the updated version, or just something you like to do? I service several CDi's and have never come across one with a broken window. Cheers buddy
Preventative maintenance pal, I've encountered this twice. On one occasion it meant the boiler had to be condemned. Keep CDI electrodes as van stock. If customers willing change them.
I’ve been doing at least 2 worcester greenstar leaks a week now for a couple of months with a lot being the right hand block🙄🙄 I now put a bowl under to catch the blood I loose getting them out so I can donate it to a blood bank👍👍 good ol worcester plastic👏👏 gone back to fitting baxis now great boilers with brass all the way💪
Yep , Bathrooms and costumers ! “ That tile is the wrong shade , the W.C needs to be 5 mm to the left (didn’t my husband tell you) , the shower isn’t working properly ( even though it’s been bought from China) , the water pressure was much better before you started (one of my favourites) , and can you just fix the bedroom door while you’re here (won’t take long) F the bathrooms!!!!!
Customers changing their minds after you spend an hour of your time dry laying everything out before it’s fitted to get the approval only to arrive the next day and find post it notes here and there asking if stuff can be altered. I always get a decent deposit that covers any materials and the first weeks money that way you have some bargaining power. No deposit and no work is started. Every scenario you have mentioned is almost a weekly ritual and I have encountered them all and more as I’m sure you have. It’s as though you are some handyman that has rocked up to repair anything that needs fixing. Can you do this and that , unbelievable. Always say yes it’s going to be x amount is there anything else you want doing. If they moan at the price say I’m a skilled guy not some part time handyman after a bit of beer money.
I just put the boiler into chimney sweep mode so I can test everything is working okay and perform my safety checks. Once finished the boiler resumes siphoning mode, which you can then leave it to complete once you've finished
@@mike_J Same Great booklet is this search Greenstar cdi classic engineer service booklet. That booklet shows you everything about the cdi classic. It’s banging
And me buddy, I do the whole lot back to brickwork sometimes on my own. The only extra trade I bring in is an electrician. What a complete and utter ball ache, scratting around on my hands a knees all day. Only perk is that working for myself if I’ve had enough I can call it a day at 2 pm if required. It’s rewarding to see what you can achieve and you can certainly earn a few quid but boy is it graft.
@@tracer1127 yeah mate exactly the same here, thankfully I tiled a bathroom floor this morning and said to the customer "right can't stand on this until tomorrow now" so I'm down the pub!
if bathrooms are done right keep away from cladding or any other cheap shit, only market your bathrooms at the middleclass then its easy money at the very least 2k-3k week from fitting. People who fit bathrooms should stay the fuck away from cheap ass landlord fits and customers who ask for a good price, If you can do that then bathroom money average bathroom we're doing up north is 7-8k supply and fitted with the whole suites costing around 3k.
I love how Worcesters answer to protecting the diverter from leaking flow turbines was "put a hat on it.." and not "fix the actual problem.." 🤣👍
Lol 😂
Agreed
Absolute madness
Quality! The one I’ve been waiting for the infamous Woozie right hand block. Done without taking out the whole hydraulic section. Thanks Tom 👍💪
Cheers Kev!

Hi Kyle ... I went on all the courses and studied the material hard in my own time. Sounds boring but that’s how I got to the level I’m at.

There was a technical bulletin about them needing replacement as they can blow out and cause fires. I’ve seen it a few times myself

Thank Worcester for that, the bypass on the junior is the trickiest bit to take out mate 👍
Yeh defo. Helps with a squirt of wd40
? Why isn't there a window in the new electrode assembly. Thanks for making the video.
Because they are prone to breaking and letting POC enter the combustion chamber
Absolutely agree re the bathrooms. Been doing this 10yrs and don’t do bathrooms. As you say, in and out, like the SAS.
Defo mate. Thanks for watching
Cheers dude great video 👍👍 no blood so it's proof you can touch a Worcester and not get cut!

My boiler is losing water pressure. No leaks on radiators. Any ideas??
Flat expansion or split hex
