Liked the spark tool. Glad you put the link on the video. 6 weeks and I will have finished my gas course! Quality videos.
I always syphon cylinders off from the hot draw off drains so much quicker plus will always be below immersion level use a drill syphon pump it flys out top videos as always 👍🏼
Usually the immersion heaters leaks trough a heating coils from outside, and if you noticed someone been there and disturb the washers , he’s a lobster, you definitely put ptfe on , but if it’s new no need at all from my experience. They don’t perish as longs you don’t disturbed .
Separate tool box for oil is a must! Great video mate!
Cheers bro!
Great stuff again. The heats killing me, but then I’ve had a few loft adventures. I generally just paste them to death.
Great video! I do oil so a separate tool box is a must! Would never snatch an immersion, when I worked a WB on a training course two engineers were working in a flat for a well known nationwide gas company they worked for its rhymes with Nitish Smash. They decided to snatch and immersion half way through! I think they thought the cylinder was drained enough, it wasn’t though they tried to force the water back with hands and the new immersion and they ended up flooding the flats below 😂
Oooof that sounds brutal! .. this was a 3 floor town house very nicely decorated. No way I was risking that much water
Great vid Tom, those immersion heaters are a right pain.
Always roasting
Great video as always mate definitely paste and ptfe on jobs like that they are a nightmare. Enjoy the well earned trip and keep up the good work 👍
Cheers Sean
Flexi's coming out of the wall, lovely 😁 I felt your pain when you opened your washer box to reveal - O-rings ..........long walk back to the van 😬
It pissed me off way more than it should have lol
@@ParkesPlumbing 😁😁😁
Tape on first parky 😜
Seems to be the general consensus
Always tape and paste immersion heaters, tape 1st is the way I roll 😎
Wise man!
On an immersion I like the liquid PTFE, works a treat and doesn't matter that I can't count past 10
Lol
Best thing ever to have in the van is a old heating pump with a 3 pun plug on it set that up to drain the cylinder tell u have it done in minutes , work's great in apartment where u have to drain into the toilet.
I’ve said I’d do this for years .. but It’s rare I do an immersion so I never bother.
Parallel threads don’t seal well with tape/paste. Replacing the rubber washer with a fibre one is an option or using an anaerobic thread sealant.
You got nice editing skills. 👍
Thanks Satan 🤘🏼
Have a good time at Snowdon that’s up my end!
I’m a ptfe then paste kind of man but whatever works for you bud
Looking forward to it! We’re staying in llanberis
Mate beautiful place. You and your wife will love it. Just bring some decent walking shoes. Also have a slate museum in Llanberis if your into that sort of thing 😄
Get your self a Milwaukee transfer pump speed up the drain down
I’ve asked them to send me one but got denied :(
Like your tool box mate👌 I only do oil as there's not much gas round here. I keep a tub of silicone grease in my box, and a new atkinson filter to make less trips to the van 👍
Cheers ozzy .. mostly all new to me is oil so I’m learning on the job
As a complete rank amateur, I always PTFE anything that has a remote chance of leaking.
Wise choice
Ahhh immersions are a pain in backside!
The worst
You're not wrong. They REALLY should teach people how to turn the water off at school.
Home owner basics class 🤔
Ptfe then paste for me dude. Thanks for the vid👍
You’re welcome
u still masking up over there
Good vid keep it coming, good content.I do PTFE then paste only coz I was shown that way 😁👍🏻
Cheers brooky
Nice one PP......👍 We've all taken the wrong kit to the job at some time with a long walk back to the van...I am an idiot sandwich.....😀
I remember when flexi connectors appeared on the scene many years ago and they all had fibre washers....!
cheers mate....👍
Thanks again yensabi .. yeh 3 flights of stairs and 300 yard walk to the van. Great Monday
enjoy your time away great video as always :) watched alllllllllllllllllllllll your videos
Cheers hull lad! …
You changed a sumo on the exclusive or independent I assume you’ll need to remove heat exchanger if this is the case think ideal have messed up
Not yet mate but that one needs changing so I guess I’ll find out
Snacked an immersion the other Friday vert wet Friday 😂😂
Brave man!
Everyone is brave on a Friday mate 👍
I’ve never heard anyone say rubber washer in a flexi and fibre but a hard piped one.
u flood the the fruikim hohes
PTFE first and then paste if it's in the tool box if it's not then it depends how far away the van is 🙌
Hah I’m same re: van distance
I would rank changing an immersion heater a plumbers worst job. And never change a bare copper cylinder heater. Ever ever ever! Just run and don't look back. (from experience) lol
I think it’s going on my banned list
Ptfe first then paste
Good video 💪🏻💥🔧
Cheers again Jan
Always find it better to test for 240 coming into spark gen from the board..100% know either way then…..good little tool that ignition light though 👍🏼
Good thinking
com on over 2 the states i need u here in minn ill sneak u in
Lemme in!!!
First
Congrats!
Always love to watch my little suggestions is that audio need to be better seems to be not clear enough maybe you can add audio after the video to make more clear this is my suggestion hope u dont mind great content keep it up
It’s hard to talk normally in a customers house when they are working online .. plus got the mask on too. I’ll see what it’s like now restrictions have lifted
ptf first and then paste.
Interesting
Interesting, because he’s right! Lol
No paste no lube just rubber or bare back thomas.
Dare devil!
@PP Whats an alternative name for PTFE tape??? = Teflon tape...... Whats the USP of teflon? = its non stick........... Therefore paste of any kind is pointless as it won't stick to tape , tape just fills the gaps in the threads pitch. Boss white (red stag for oil) and hemp when I started............ Still rate it now, great joint thats stood the test of time.
Re: AGA oil tools: All of my base cleaning kit is home made! adapt, grind, bend old flat screwdrivers. An old car windscreen wiper arm ( modified again) makes a great tool for scraping the radial through ports ,out from the center. Car valve lapping paste for seating the ctr vap lid down. This should be enough to get you going. ;-)
Cheers jools that’s really interesting actually! .. dm me over on insta so I can pick your brain on oil aga
@@ParkesPlumbing Pinged you a email. :-)
u shaving with beer
PTFE and no paste. Depending on the paste used you can erode rubber seal
Good point
@@ParkesPlumbing Love the content btw and yes I am subbed.
👍 ⬆️ for your ego.
Appreciated!
👍😂👍
Cheers wayne
Can't hear what your saying sounds a bit muffled
Mask life
I'd rather shi1t on my hands and clap than work on oil
It’s stinky!
Slic Tite & PTFE on an immersion heater? No need Bro.
Ptfe was wrapped the wrong way aswel
Yeh I thought that watching it back lol
Manufacturer for fs put the drain off lower than the emersion common sense
