    As an MA, M Phil, PhD, NET (history), 6 years experienced of higher education teaching, I give my testimony that this entire analysis of facts is pure truth. I'm paying my own price of being resourceless and honest by sitting Unemployed at home,, while the much lesser qualified and inexperienced people are enjoying the College posts worth 80k a month ...... nobody is seeking knowledge and truth in present times 🙏🙏🙏
    Edit: as a student and scholar of history I always wondered, why there is no chapters about the North-east states, their dynasties, cultures, administration, revenue etc. Besides, hardly any student or scholar of history has this fact on mind that the Modern Indian History is just about the history of the British India......where is a the entire history of the Indian Riyasats or Princely States???? Also, if you explore, you'll find that gradually the College and universities have removed Ancient Indian History as a subject. As an average, mostly the Colleges opt for Medieval and Modern Indian history as the curriculum from graduation to post graduate levels. Students are detaching from the study of ancient history, because there are hardly any teachers to make this subject interesting for the students to attend lectures. I've informed all of this by my own experience 🙏 There is almost no research is being proposed in ancient history in the Indian universities for the lack of understanding of languages like Sanskrit, Pali, Tamil etc. and scant sources.

    There is no solid proof that Ashok was a staunch follower of either Hinduism or Buddhism before the Kalinga war. He patronized all including Ajiviks and Jains as was the norm during Chandragupta Maurya and Bindusara's rule. He did become a staunch follower of Buddhism after the war which is clear.
    Just because you have heard of only 3 hindu kings doesn't mean that there may not be others. Bhakti movement in south was heavily driven by the conviction to weed out Buddhist and Jain influence in Southern kingdoms.
    The problem of biased recording of history is not something exclusive to India. Every country or kingdom glorifies the protagonists of its struggle in order to maintain its legitimacy.
    Regional selectivism is also something very common. Taking the example of Ahoms. Why would a person sitting in Rajasthan bother about Ahoms and similarly why would a person sitting in Assam bother about Maharana Pratap. What they all can be bothered about though is the Mughals. What they did right what they did wrong. People like you often argue about the wrongs of Mughals being veiled but do you really think that there is any hindu kid today who doesn't hate Aurangzeb? Is there any kid who doesn't get angered thinking of Nalanda library having been burnt?
    Subaltern history is too complex and sometimes controversial of a topic to be taught to kids. Some of the good things like Bhakti movement are taught but if you start teaching about the caste system or the feudalish arrangement of administration to kids it becomes problematic.
    Delhi and Mumbai are at focus because they are capitals. If you shift the capital to Nagpur or Ayodhya then they will be at focus. We cannot have a geographic uniformity in importance of places in a country as large as India. That is the reason why we have states for better administration. Even in those states the focus is at state capitals.
    Bollywood is North centric because its languages are of north. That is the point of having regional cinema which we also have. Why should I as a hindi speaker give preference to watching dubbed Tamil films unless they have something extra to appeal to me? And of course there are many such south Indian films. And such films are not being made only now. They have been there for decades. It is just that they couldn't reach the non-native speaking audience due to tech limitations.
    Sikhs are shown in caricature form because there was a rising feeling of hatred against them during the whole Indira Gandhi fiasco. And this dumbing down was initiated partially by them and partially by the Punjabi hindus who dominate the film industry even today.
    Marathis are shown to be doing blue-collar jobs in Bollywood because that is the reality of Mumbai. If you go to any region which has had an influx of skilled immigrants who take up the white collar jobs you will see a similar picture. Have you ever seen a north eastern guy driving an auto in Bengaluru? Similarly there is also the phenomenon of unskilled immigrants taking blue collar jobs in places where there is emigration of the rich. eg- Biharis going to Punjab or Mumbai for blue collar work but nobody has a problem in its depiction.

      @baka69454 Месяц назад

      What a useless narrative 😂😂😂😂 wasted 1-2 min...
      There's a difference between regional history and Indian history.
      Indian history should be inclusive.
      Secondly , chandragupta maurya embraced Jainism, his son Bindusara was from ajivika sect and Ashoka Buddhism after Kalinga war(which is not true as according to the narrator of this video)

    • @twistedspirit
      @twistedspirit 21 день назад +1

      @@baka69454 Indian history is pretty inclusive. It just doesn't make sense to teach a 14 year old about why Shivaji was at one time a Mughal loyalist. It is simpler to show him in the good light and Aurangzeb in the bad light because going too deep really doesn't make any difference./
      Of course Mauryan kings did that but it was not like these were the only options that Mauryan kings had. It was similar to how today Modiji wears a sikh turban when visiting Punjab and a tribal headgear when visiting north east. That doesn't make him a sikh or a tribal religion follower. Same was with the Mauryan kings. Chandragupt decided to join the Jain monks when he felt it is time to retire. Bindusar might not have been in very good terms with the Jain monks so he gave patronage to Ajiviks. Ashok usurped the kingdom from his father and brothers so a lot of people would have been angry at him so he obviously appeased everyone by doing something for them. Personally though he felt more aligned with the Buddhist ideology and decided to propogate it having seen the consequences of Kaling war.

      You don't need a historian for that answer because it's a political issue. You know why it's not changed since the Congress days from this video and previous videos. The issue with the current leadership not changing is the image issue leading to pressure from the outside world. For example the BJP government wanted to introduce the CAA.. there was a massive push from mainly the west and liberals. Leading laws not implementing. So if they go ahead and change unilaterally this will result with BJP losing power in some states. Stagnation.

      @nealrutgerskid Год назад

      @@smashedit4517 you have to think more globally in this globalized world. So say India unilaterally pushed ahead with the CAA. The first impact with Indian liberals will revolt in the face of this by protests, news articles in foreign media and other sources to cast a bad lime light on this law. This will have a cascading effect of OIC countries taking actions like sanctions of not buying Indian products seen in Nupur's case or worse violence towards indians. The wests actions will impact India by their sanctions to the effect that the economy will be lowered and bad optics for Indian global standing. For example if businesses are impacted do you think Indians will vote BJP when their pockets are affected? for example people losing jobs and unemployment rising. Lastly all these polls and standing like the press freedom, religious freedom standing done by European and American think-tanks have effect on global India economic standing like in world economic forum.. you are going to have issues such as credit and global growth projections leading low foreign direct investments needed to expand the economy. So the only way to do this is by increments and political and economic shrewdness. Outright actions will lead to the aforementioned actions by the world.

    The position of Buddhism in 12th century of indian subcontinent ie. at the time of Muslim rule starts:
    "From Al-Beruni's India, a book of surpassing interest, we learn a great deal about the Hindu society as it then was. The Hindu mind still retained its virility and vigour and its mastery over the rugged realms of philosophy, so much so, indeed, that the Arabian savant was astonished at the profound culture and learning of the Hindus. The India of Al-Beruni was Brahmanical not Buddhistic. Bud- dhism had well nigh disappeared from the country, and that. is probably the reason why the Arab scholar never found a Buddhist book and never came across a Buddhist monk from whom he might have learned the theories of his faith." The worship of Vişnu was prominent, and Śiva had receded into the background.
    Book: History of Medieval India.

    No, it wasn't that people were afraid of this so-called "writ of the ruler". Nehru was apprehensive that if so much of complexity and, in some cases, negativity enters the minds of the youth of the day, nation building would suffer. He did want identity politics to take centre-stage. You can see the difference between India and Pakistan and learn the difference.
    Ranveer, if you have the guts, call Pakistani political analyst and now a historian, Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad to come and talk about the freedom movement.

      How is telling you the truth that you were victim and British and Mughals were looters and you have given a great fight ultimately and your civilization has stood tall even after all the attacks of Mughals and all the politics of West , create unrest? Infact it would have helped in getting away with colonial rules then and there itself . We all have to understand one thing that British and western countries rules and way of working is not conducive to other regions other geographies and other ethnicities.That is what happened in Afganistan. We have many examples where this has failed , see our education system , not at all work oriented. Our agricultural system were the best , the permaculture which world talks about now , we were doing it pre colonial era .British officers were sent to teach our farmers the agricultural practice and there are records that Officers said farmers need no teachings , infact we have learnt from them. We had decentralized water systems , but British imposed there kind of system on us and now the experts are presenting ppts on decentralization of water systems . Altering facts is wrong and it did no good to us . We are civilized nation Because that is in our roots and blood .

And I don't criticize the books I was taught through, but I do criticize the way the Freedom Struggle was represented in them, The Chapter 2 in class 10, Nationalism in India presents Gandhi, Congress, Ambedkar, Bhagat singh and the feminists only, even swaraj party has been mentioned for god's sake, they should have at least given people like Subhash Chandra Bose and AHF a mention, I don't believe in the rightist ideology of SCB was better than Gandhi neither am I against Gandhi or Congress, if anything I lean towards the whiter Gray view but I wanted to know more about others as well 😊😊😊

Buddhists were all Hindus, often mocked contemporary brahmins, villified Draupadi, broke monk rules in sanghas. Corruption had set in hence had to be destroyed as every skiver, lazy person was joining them. Originally Buddha was Hindu, did Hindu rites rituals, yagyas, was known as arkabandhu wore usnisa. Were opposed only as they spoke inforrect Sanskrit. Purity of language is important. Esp when doing mantras, hence vedic scholars objected.

No matter how much you try you cannot undo the work and contribution that people made and it's there in international print media on open domain verified by lakhs n crores of Indians in the freedom struggle..everyone's statements , letters are all in black n white..so what gandhiji did you can't change today. He did give us freedom, nehru did play a major role in freedom struggle as well as creating a futuristic India with a scientific temperament..if we had sat with cow s and ram mandir we would have been a 4th world country.
