When Dara Shikoh says he does not want to be a pearl but he wants to be an ocean...he wants to say he does not want to limit himself as just a body which will come, stay and then leave this world. He wants to realize awareness where you are no longer the body but the awareness/consciousness (which is the vast ocean). Dara Shikoh had talks with many Hindu intellectuals and understood the depth of Vedas and Upanishads. He did a deep study of them and translated almost half of the Upanishads in Persia(almost 50 I believe). Dara took the Vedas and Upanishads to the other part of the world through these translations. He would have translated all of the Upanishads but midway Aurangzeb killed him.

And if you are going down and visiting the city of cities, "Inside Delhi, its walls and gates" and "Agra" are like famous and bad cities, don't you go?

Why can’t you study history objectively. Why do you think it’s necessary to color everything with religious colors. The battles that took place between the Mughals and another Rajas were for political reasons. There was nothing religious in it. Many Hindus fought with Mughals and many Muslims fought with Marathas. Mughals were tyrannical, and they were like that even with their own kith and kin for political reasons. And even the other kingdoms had their infighting. But if you compare Aurangazeb with other Mughal emperors , he was much better. He did not squander money, was not ayyash. and was a righteous person. Since he was the emperor it is his duty to guard his kingdom from all enemies. Within his kingdom as well as outside. But ai agree with the historian when she says the local subedaar and jabaldaar took undue advantage of the power given to them. And that was the weakness of the Mughal empire.

Due to a disagreement with the Burmese king Shuja tried to impose a coup , but was defeated and killed , his daughters were sent to a harem , his sons decapitated . @@prasannabhosale706 To think. Brutal killing had been part of every ancient or medieval culture. No point in saying we were holy. What matters really is what we do at this age. There had been many brutal killing in the name of beef and ideology in our country. We have killed our own father of the nation. We had killed Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs based on religion in our country. We killed many Kashmiri pandits. They too are brutal. Let us stop this business of dividing people based on religion. We need to find the criminals among us and jail them.

Aurangazeb isn't hated just bcz he killed his brothers or left his father to death.
To ur point of mahabharat ...Simple...they weren't tyrants like Aurangazeb.
Forget about them even Akbar, Shah Jahan, Humayun kind of Mughal kings also weren't tyrants.
There were better kings even in 4th-5th centuries of India. U r talking about 16th century. Common timeline doesn't justify Aurangazeb.
It's isn't even tougher when u know he killed Dhara Shikoh who was actually a secular.

Dara Shikoh was caught by MALIK JEEVAN , not by Mirza Raja Jay Singh. once Dara Shikoh helped him to save his life. He was given capital punishment by Badshah Shah Jahan but on the request of Dara Shikoh , Shah Jahan absolved him. So Dara Shikoh trusted him and reached there to take shelter. Dara Shikoh was in impression that he saved Malik Jeevan life. So in this tough situation he would also help him.But Malik Jeevan betrayed him.

The lady has clearly explained the bad deeds of Mughals as well in other parts. But the only reason people are so triggered in comments section is because she said Aurangzeb was an excellent military commander. Hate Aurangzeb all you want but history will always remember him as the ruler that built one of the biggest empires in history. I hate Aurangzeb for the person he was but as a commander and ruler, he should be given the respect

Aurangzeb (alamgir) was a powerful religious king and his administration was well managed, he was fair minded and modest towered his people, but for revolters and enemies no doubt he was a beast for them.

I think cows son was doing a revolt against him, with the help of shahshuja army, he get a throne then killed shah shuja also, he killed shivaji son by cowardly captured him when he was travelling from one place to another, he killed jaswant singh son by giving him a shahi dress as gift but this dress have a poised fabric

@@love_Kholiya again you are talking about revolters, that doesn't make him cruel, that the way a king deals with his enemies, specially when he needs to deal with them from all over his territory, he always needs to action instantly, else his regime will collapse.
There is no authentic evidence which proves that he put cow meat in tample, and a logical oerson can understand that this kind of cheap activity can't be done by a powerful king like aurangzeb, who actually aided some tamples.
