this was very insightful! I didn't know Harris declined to speak with Joe Rogan. My family is politically moderate, but they are big Joe Rogan fans. I think you're right about Democrats relying on Hollywood stars to endorse them, but that's not who people gravitate toward anymore One thing you said that I wanted to comment on. As someone who works in and studies HR, I want to remind people: You do NOT have free speech at work (especially if you work for a private company). While there is a moral argument for companies firing employees based on opinion, legally they are allowed to. Being political at work, regardless of what side, is in general a bad idea.
I really enjoyed this video! You have given me valuable insight and you've made me think about things i haven't thought of before. You are so right when it comes to how we do voter outreach. I feel like there is way too much judgment and shame out there with cancel culture and it pushes people right. And people don't know how to communicate effectively which I think is another problem. A good question to ask would be how do we facilitate these kinds of conversations and make them more common? Excellent analysis!!
Also, the democrats practically embracing the pro-pali nut job crowd, as you also mentioned, didn't help as well. Supporting the Islamists is morally reprehensible, and backlashed.
what a interesting pov as to why the dems lost gen z voters. great analysis on this especially coming from someone that has also lived both sides. i grew up very conservative (now I'm very far left, ironic) so i'm pretty familiar with the right's rhetoric as well as the left's and after awhile I noticed there's commonalities between the two. however, the key difference is that the left is cannibalizing itself and making it highly unbearable to want to vote blue.
I used to be hard left. Like, EU Liberal which by US standards is probably Communism. Moved right a ton, now I do not vote at all. Mainly because of men's issues if that makes sense. I feel like the left is not offering me anything so why vote for it. There is also that hypocrysy: When I go online and try to argue for mens issues I can see that people claiming to be tolerant qand open minded can be extremely rude and abusive..
I think you should watch the video "Men" by Contrapoints. She's a leftist and addresses men's issues in a way I think you would really agree with. There really is a big men's rights issue, it's just hard to address when there are equally as many anti-feminist trolls who use "well, what about men?" To shut up valid discussion amongst women. But it does need addressed, so there.
My wife and I used to be hardcore leftists. The Dems lost both of us over Ukraine and Gaza, and they just never gave either of us a reason to come back. At this point I'm convinced the federal government is incapable of using tax dollars well so I'm basically a left leaning libertarian. I'd much rather focus on state and municipal issues as I can actually contribute towards change in my community.
Interesting! I fully believe the US should fulfill it's prior commitments when it comes to foreign aid/power. But I also think Russia/China exerting influence around the world is bad for people and the right of self-determination in the 21st century. I just don't think military aid should come at the expense of society back at home. When it comes to the social safety net - I think the best place to push for better management and aid is at the state and local levels. Which seems to be often managed by more conservative local activists.
This opinion is so dumb it hurts. "We dislike what democrats did, so we cast our vote for a party that will never win in a million years, letting it go to conservatives, which sucks more for Ukraine and Gaza". Get a grip.
@@scutoid_ Its not that they're not supporting it, and thus being a "neutral" party, but that Netanyahu is on good terms with Trump since he was way more laxxed with Israel's actions. Furthermore, Trump moved the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, essentially recognizing it as Israeli, which sparked a lot of protests in Gaza, thousands were shot. Anyone that says democrats don't deserve their vote for Gaza are fools.
I am an ex-democrat. I am 71 years old. In my youth I was a California hippie girl; anti-war, pro freedom of speech, non racist, etc. Now I find that the left has in practice abandoned all of that. I am far to the Dem's left as a leftist in the EU, but I would have voted for Kamala because Trump's policies (e.g. tarrifs) could be so bad worldwide. He is also intolerant in a way Kamala isnt, even if I regard Kamala as basically a war criminal. Youre so right about Joe Rogan. I think she was worried about how she would look, which is kind of fair because Cancel Culture is real. There are leftists who would have denounced her.
@@sunny3907 i agree. The few incels that voted red are beyond reason and will not change their mind or vote. Doesn t mater, they are few and stupid, they are negligible. The ones who didn t vote are the main group and the ones who can be brought back to a blue vote with a solid economic program.

Amazing video! I can't believe you only have 1,500 views rn, your analysis was top-notch
Aww thanks!
Around 15 minutes in is another problem you examplified- in the discourse there seems to be only a far right and a far left.

Because a lot of left leaning young people stayed home because of Gaza.

@@jiri6691 Definitely. And contrapoints is always a good time anyhow :-)
I have one bit of production related constructive criticism, and maybe it it just me, but I think you may be a little too close to the camera.

I think that the move towards aid for Gaza is a move towards the democrats' left. The republicans aren't supporting Gaza either, for example.

If those few, young women voted blue and young incels voted red.
But in both cases, they are the minority.

You know that's EXACTLY why they'll keep voting right.
