    Sir ek doubt hai apne last example jo pHS Na ka dea vo a kind of Williamson synthesis hai na to reactant me some 2 degree alkyl halide q liya hai reaction should not proceed ..... no thio ether should be formed

    Sir, its known that polar protic solvent favours E1 as it favours the formation of carbocation, then why in case of EtO- EtOH , we are following E2 when EtOH is a polar protic solvent ?

      EtOH in ionised form acts as a strong base and it approaches beta hydrogen easily due to bulkyness.
      It's like alc. KOH which is strong and bulky base due to intermolecular bonding and unable to approach carbon.

      THE ALL IN ONE GAMER i read in books EtO is strong base so it gives E2 product at high temperature .I dont understand why sir telling eto is weak base
