  • We unexpectedly arrive two days early into Vilnius, Lithuania (our bad - we got the visa specifics wrong for Belarus!). As a result we had an extended stay in this quaint and quirky little country, in this video you’ll see the sights of Vilnius as we take the walking tour around the city and over to the even quirkier Uzupis, where it is mandatory to smile! :)
We just so happened to be in the capital city centre on Lithuanian Independence day, so here you’ll see the way this proud country celebrated it’s 30 years of freedom! We also take a look around the harrowing Holocaust Exposition and take in views over the city from the revolving panoramic TV tower before finally finding out what all the hype is about over Georgian food! Delicious!
Travel vlog 7 | Vilnius, Lithuania | Country #2 | Filmed March 2020 (prior to isolation).
TKT tip: If you’re visiting Vilnius for just a few days, be sure to join one of the FREE walking tours. They’re run by locals who have a lot of interesting knowledge about the city and they take place everyday at midday and 2pm from Vilnius Town Hall :)

A British couple from just outside London, England. We got married in 2018 and decided instead of a honeymoon we’d travel the world together for a year. We saved money and travel points, quit our jobs, rented our house out and boarded a one way flight. We started this RUclips channel to share our experiences with friends, family and anyone who plans to travel to the places we’re visiting. We leave TKT tips/facts on all our vlogs and blogs to give information that we wish we’d had before visiting. We hope you find our content useful :)

Guys, you came to Lithuania in the worst time possible- not even a winter, just cold and raining + no Christmas feeling + coronarivurs, streets were already half empty. But I like you because you can find positives even in such conditions. If you don't mind just one remark - I think you wanted to go to holocaust + soviet deportation museum, the one where Chernobyl TV series were filmed. 10:10 This is not the one.

Thanks for the comments. We had a great time, it only rained twice in 4 days! Luckily everything was still open when we were there. We didn’t really mind which museum, we were just wandering around and decided to go there last minute. It was great😊

IMO, Vilnius is the loveliest capital city of the three Baltic states. In my personal chart it ranks second after Berlin as the best places to be in Europe (the third being Barcelona).
    P.S.
Note to haters: I'm from Estonia and I love Tallinn and I have been to many nice places on this planet, so just shut up.

you both are so pretty, and what's important- your eyes are full of wisdom, especially when you said about Independence. My grandparents lost freedom, lost their land and house, my father was brought to Siberia prison camp twice, was tortured there by the Russians. My friend was killed in Vilnius by Russians in 1991, other friend's dad was overridden by the Russian tank. I feel my freedom, and I am so thankful to you, to see your eyes with full of wisdom about that. Good luck.

Lovely Vilnius. Flew there on Monday 7th September from London city .unbelievably when I got to Vilnius border control, they would not let me past. The rules of entry had changed at midnight Sunday, meaning you had to prove you had had a negative COVID test from midnight Sunday. Literally 10 hours before. Forced to buy a ticket home that day and wasted £450 on a nice room in raddison for 4 nights. Was meeting my friend for dinner that night and had planned to go to the hill of crosses on the Tuesday. Was not happy as the Lithuanians on my flight who live in the uk were allowed in .I was the only one made to fly straight back 🤔😫. .A total of over £700 wasted. I offered to stay in the hotel till I had had a COVID test, but the lady from border control seemed to be on a power trip. Karma coming I told her....😛. Jobsworth.
