Can we just talk about how unexpected this was? I didn’t see anyone even MENTION Kazuya in any leak/prediction video, so he came completely out of left field for me.

I had a strong feeling since FP1 we were gonna get a Tekken character, but I thought it would be Jin Kazama.
I never expected a Tekken character, which in hindsight is silly, seeing how Bandai-Namco helped develop the game.
I honestly believed that Heihachi's costume was pretty much deconfirming any tekken rep, glad i was wrong tho, cause this is on another level of hype

I mean, people have been learning how to wavedash on controllers since the beginning. Since at least King or the Mishimas got their wavedashes. IDK which exact game that was since I'm not super knowledgeable about the franchise, but controller use to play is the absolute highest among Tekken players in the entire FGC.

Maybe it was the speed of the trailer, they show Kazuya too fast.
Probably because of the trailer setup, but Max isn't into Tekken as much as something like a Capcom fighter. Even then, I think he would've preferred Jin over Kazuya.

I know heihachi had at least 2 main voice actors; Daisuke Gori from Tekken 3 through 6, then after he passed, it was Unsho Shizuka from Tekken Tag 2 to Tekken 7. I know that one of Shizuka’s last roles was actually Incineroar in smash.

@@zeokenx2 There are multiple character themes from Street Fighter 2 for characters that aren't in smash. Lot easier to add music than entire characters id imagine.

I suspect that they intentionally used stuff like Just Dance and Life is Strange to pad out time between the bigger announcements cause they know streamers and stuff would be freaking out and end up talking over them.
