      Thanks for the info! I remember going over the old bridges back in 2009, so I was surprised when I visited and found the big new bridge with one of the old bridges closed. That's awesome that you helped out with building that. Thanks for watching and commenting! 👍

    I live in the middle of the area you traveled in this video. Rode my motorcycle to Buck's Pocket yesterday. One of my favorite places.

      That's great! Buck's Pocket is one of my favorite places too though I don't get to visit very often from this side of Lake Guntersville. Thanks for watching and commenting! 👍

    We had friends and relaivesin the area.Wevisited HighFalls in 1947or1948. The old bridge was still intact but not used by cars, he bridge had a steel superstrructer, bur the road deck was wood. At that time, a few deck boards were missing. I was a small boy and we walked out on the bridge, but didn' feel tthat it was safe to walk to the opposite side.
    We always referred to the Red Mill as "Double Bridges".

      That's amazing that you were at High Falls in 1947 (my parents were married that year). I've heard of the Red Mill falls as "Double Bridges" as well, but the second of the two bridges is now no longer accessible. For that reason, I think the name has shifted. Thank you so much for sharing your memories! 👍

    Glad you enjoy ur visit to marshall county. The natural bridge is a tourist spot so it would have been ok to hang around. I take my 6 dogs hiking up there

      We did enjoy our visit! I'm always very sensitive to private property and when we visited last (January of 2022) the signage wasn't clear. I need to go back and spend more time checking it out. Thanks for watching! 👍

    I am fortunate to live above the Honeycomb natural Bridge. Whole area is a motorcycle riders wonder land. From the Walls of Jericho to Guntersville north to south and Little River canyon to Huntsville east to west. Unclaimed Baggage in Scottsboro off of hwy 72 and 79 is a must visit for bargain shoppers. Items from all over the world there.

      I thought about it! But I ran out of battery about then. 🙁 Two waterfall locations on one battery isn't to bad though.

    How do you get down below to see the upper vantage point of the falls so w be re you can see them all at high falls?

    • @SoutheasternFrontiers
      @SoutheasternFrontiers  2 года назад

      I'm not 100% sure what you are asking. If you are asking how do you get to the viewpoint over high falls (above the stone arch), there is a side trail to that right along the fence (off to your right) as you are descending down the main trail/road to the foot bridge.

    Alabama spent all that money to improve Bucks Pocket, but they did not fix the river to prevent it from flooding the campground. Widening the river, (especially on the river right side) and taking river rock out of the river and putting it on the left side to shore up the side closest to the campground. I have been trapped in the camp during heavy rains. time will tell.

    • @SoutheasternFrontiers
      @SoutheasternFrontiers  Год назад

      Sorry to hear that. I’ve never camped there. But I could see how it would be possible to get stranded!

    They closed red mills falls double bridges due to a new road being installed and a accident involving a young girl with a fire truck and a lot of other bad rex over the years

    • @SoutheasternFrontiers
      @SoutheasternFrontiers  3 месяца назад

      I knew about the new road being a cause, I had not heard about the accident. Thanks for the info!
