My father and I have riden the parkway end to end twice on motorcycles, and I've always thought the stretch between Asheville and Cherokee is the nicest section.

Driving the Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherokee to Asheville, NC. Video has attractive content and form. Watched the video on Feb 28, 2023very like. Thank you
Water Rock Knob had no visitors' center and was unpaved when she kissed me and said, "You're mine". Sixty odd years later I had to lay her to her rest. It had to be on Water Rock Knob where her ashes would rest. Wonderful mountain girl, marvelous wife, fantastic mother then grandmother. Good grief, what I wouldn't give to see her again, say and do all the things I did not say and do while she was here. Her mountains pull hard at my heart.
🥲 I don't know what to say . Thank you so much for sharing that memorial of your wife with us. We are honored to have touched you in this way with our little video.
This is a great video! Thank you for sharing! My wife and I are planning to do the same BRP route in our next trip to Asheville, NC. Did you find any segments of the road to be unsafe or scary? Anything of concern or tips you can think of? It all looks very pretty and relaxing in the video. Thank you. 🙂
It was very relaxing! No issues at all. The road is winding for sure, but in a nice scenic sort of way. The tunnels were nice markers along the way as well. I highly recommend stopping at the visitors center and stretching legs there, but we also got out at a few other view points and I don't regret it!
That's a little tricky to answer. It is 42 miles from Pigeon Forge, TN to Cherokee, NC where the Blue Ridge Parkway starts (or ends depending on your point of view) through the Smokey Mountains National Park. Along that segment, there is 1 tunnel that I can think of. Once you get on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Cherokee, it is 84 miles to Asheville, NC and there are 17 tunnels. There is a nice interactive map of the Blue Ridge Parkway that will show you the location of all the tunnels (and attractions, hiking trails, dining, lodging, etc.) here: www.blueridgeparkway.org/parkway-map/
About how long did it take you to drive it with your stops? I'm trying to figure out a day trip from Pigeon Forge TN to Cherokee on to Ashville and then back to Pigeon Forge.
We got onto the Blue Ridge Parkway at 2pm and arrived in Asheville at about 5pm, so 3 hrs with lots and lots of stops. Hope you have a great trip and thanks for watching!
@@SoutheasternFrontiers Thanks for the answer! We love the area, we stay in Pigeon Forge but would like to go see the mountain scenery and flowering trees. Thanks
I enjoyed your video. Thank you for being able to enjoy the beautiful scenery and drive. I have a question. How did the camera take the front and then the right? Did your wife turn by hand? So how did you fix the camera to the car before that?
Sorry, I just realized that you are talking about along the Blue Ridge Parkway! 😂. I need to pay more attention! I think Dry Falls is a ways off the Parkway.
@SoutheasternFrontiers we went there from Franklin, NC in 25 min. First, comes Bust Your Butt Falls and then 15 to 20 min later the awesome Dry Falls. It was such a great experience. We stopped a little before the actual Bust your butt falls and went down and enjoyed the gentle rapids there. Bridal Veil falls is next but not much to see.

The camera is handheld by either my wife (usually) or myself for the entire video.
