I have always enjoyed listening to your voice, Josh, but your dad is an awesome narrator also. Y’all are the best! Can’t wait for the full video. Thanks for all you do. Stay safe.
I really do love it when you and Pop camaraderie back to back . . . you both are so fortunate to have one another. Thank you for the endless hours of entertainment that you make possible through your travels.
Can't decide my favorite part of this video; there's so much beauty and serenity! Pops did a great job on the parts he narrated! All the hiking keeps him young! He's an inspiration (I think we're about the same age) :)
I love the photographic treats into this truly beautiful part of the Blue Ridge Mountains as well as the historic nuggets. The alternating narration between father and son (I believe) is invigorating, both have very soothing and re-assuring harmony in their voices. Just lovely all together. The water doesn’t fall far from the rock.
Watching this a second time in life! I watched today July 4, 2024 and appreciate these virtual hikes tremendously! My age does not allow me to do these and I love the hike paths vegetation and shaded rocky paths
Your videos are always topnotch. This one is no exception. I love your style, your delivery, the info you impart, and your visuals. You and your Dad make an awesome pair. 👏🌞👏
I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia and I love being able to see the absolute beautiful scenery. I live by the only tunnel in Virginia. He’s so right about all the amazing activities and the things to do along the Parkway. We have been to many of these beautiful area’s places.
Ahhhh, you were in my stomping grounds - I live not too far from Peaks of Otter / I have hiked Sharp Top and Flat Top so many times. Never disappoints. Glad you highlighted many of my favorites from Humpback Rocks down to Peaks of Otter - the AT straddles the BRP south of Peaks of Otter and to me some of the best miles on the trail. Crabtree Falls is also great in the winter when if freezes over - We say some Ice Climbers on it one year near the top 🙂
I was so pleased you featured Crabtree Falls. They're magical tucked away like they are. We hiked to them on a 96° day, took our shoes off, and soaked our feet in the cold water while taking in the falls. So peaceful and beautiful.
It was fun to hear both you and your dad. It’s a nice mix for narration. I bought my RV two years ago from a lady in Asheville. I wanted to check out the parkway while I was there but unfortunately it was a the last Saturday in September so it was packed! Most pullouts were full and many of the centers were closed because of Covid. Can’t wait to go back and do it right. Thanks for the tips.
Fantastic video yet again! Living in NC, I have had the good fortune of visiting almost all of these places and I could not agree more! for those into movies, I also love the fact that many of these sites have been used in some very famous movies over the years, for example dirty dancing, last of the Mohicans (One of my all-time favorites!), Hunger games. Also worth mentioning are the amazing mountain towns or villages just off the parkway such as Hendersonville, Asheville, Brevard, Boone… so many more. thanks again for the awesome video.
Oh absolutely John denver is a traveling icon partner music with me when I travel. And it's fun to see the blue ridge mountain, And shamendoah valley. Your dad knows what he's talking about.
So cool to hear Pops on the narration! I bet he is a captivating professor. Super excited to see some of your mid Atlantic travels as that's closer to my neck of the woods (though I can't wait to make it out west and use your videos for inspiration while planning those trips as well). Thanks, Josh!
I always enjoy your adventures, and the camaraderie between you and your dad. Thank you for sharing. The cinematic talents are excellent, and the editing skills are impressive. I enjoy the voiceovers - you and your dad have clear narration voices. If it is not exposing any trade secrets, in one of your videos, please share some of the technical information, such as your video and sound equipment, as well as the editing and titling software used. Kind regards from the Valley of the Sun - Phoenix, AZ USA
Here is all the gear I use for my videos. ruclips.net/video/HdsxZafBge8/видео.html - I use Final Cut Pro for editing and Epidemic Sound for the music. Hope that helps!
OMG , what beautiful sites and view bet the smell was awesome clean and clear...I dying to go out for a long drive in the mountain , love your videos Thanks guys have a bless one
Everyone loves the Blue Ridge Mountains in the fall, but I prefer to be there around late April when the Rhododendrons are in bloom. The smell is fabulous.
The fireflies were so cool to see. I remember them when I was a little kid growing up in Indiana. ❤️ Your channel. You do such an excellent job putting your videos together. Thx
Nice video. I prefer to hear the water at the falls and cascades but I understand you are just showing people these places to visit. We've been to many of these places but I would love to go back there again! My wife got sick when we were driving along the Parkway but we stopped at a local motel and it wasn't long before she was feeling better and we continued our trip. We also loved seeing all the Christmas Trees that are grown in the area off some of the back roads!
We lived in the Shenandoah Valley for 17 years right at the foot of the blueridge. Sherando lake is a good stop and is just after humpback rock about 2 miles off the parkway. Glad you included peaks of otter and the james river bridge as these were favorites of my wife and mines. Unfortunately we never got to dine at the restaurant before we left for AZ as it was closed due to the pandemic. There are 2 stops in va I recommend. One is a small water fall with old train tracks. Very short hike to put you right at its base and the second is thunder ridge pull off which offers amazing veiws of the valley.
@@ThroughMyLens thunder ridge is a little bit before peaks of otter coming from humpback direction. Its more then just a pull off with its own parking area. A short walk to a stone outcropping. You can see down into a hugh valley. Im sure if you had done it you’d remember. Either way thanks for the videos. Always look forward to you and your dad’s adventures
Brown Mountain has some folklore attached to the overview. There are mysterious lights that are visible from the overlook and has been featured on Unsolved Mysteries and Paranormal shows on the Travel channel and History channel.
How fun! And your dad narrations too! I’d love to know where you got on and off? I planned a trip on the parkway last year and never realized that there were no bathrooms (at least for the portion I was on) and .. I didn’t see any of these except the lodge where I entered.
Something cool we use to do when I was in college was walk inside the Linville Viaduct bridge. It use to be accessible from either end of the bridge. The Bridge is not actually attached to the mountain, it is just floating on pads. There is space to crawl up inside the bridge.
Always enjoy your trips, they give me lots of inspiration. But super shocked about you only seeing fireflies for 3rd time in your life. Did not know they were not out west.
Really appreciate you taking the time to make these videos packed with info. We’re from South FL and will be using then to visit next year in June. Would you say is better to wait till the fall? I best the tricolor scenery is spectacular. Keep up the excellent work!
Thanks for the video it is a great help. I'm planning on driving part of the Blue Ridge Parkway and would like to know where these stops are along the way. Is there someway to find out what milepost some of these places are at? Pops is terrific!! You guys make some great videos!
Thank you so much for this great, informative video! I'm from Switzerland, and planning to go on a solo-trip from New York to Nashville by car. Would you recommend the trail for a solo-traveller? thanks again and keep up the good work!
Correction on the Linn Cove Viaduct section, it is 1,243 feet not 12,043. Thanks for watching the video!
Pops sounds like a professional narrator, great addition. 🙂
Glad you liked his voice overs!
Dad’s voice sounds like TV documentary! Great job! Pls do more 😊
Thank you! Will do!
Loved it. Pops would be a really good voice over actor.
For sure!
Love Pops doing some narration, he is great at it!
Maybe I haven’t noticed it before but wow having your dad narrate with you is such a great addition, keep it up big fans of you guys
Wow! Love the addition of dad on the commentary. Awesome video as always.
Glad you enjoyed!

Our pleasure! More to come for sure
Wow! Pops narrating! I loved it!! He is a natural.
I think Pops fan base is growing by the minute, or by the video! Go Pops! 😁🙌🏼
Another beautiful drive to add to the wishlist, also Pops narration!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Can't decide my favorite part of this video; there's so much beauty and serenity! Pops did a great job on the parts he narrated! All the hiking keeps him young! He's an inspiration (I think we're about the same age) :)
Glad you enjoyed it! He is big into hiking now, even though it was not something he ever really did previously
Pops was brave as you drove through so many tunnels...reminded me of caves. 😉
Your dad narrating is an awesome addition. Great work!
Thanks for all the great advice, we just completed our own trip based on your superb video
Happy to hear Pops narrate!!!
You guys are the BEST when it comes to travel guide videos!
Wow, thank you!
Old dad is quite the narrator! Great video both of you.
We love pops jumping in with the narrations! Love the videos, always look forward to seeing where you two go next.
BIG Props to your Dad, did a great job narrating some of the recommendations!

I really liked you guys alternating the narration this time! Great informative and beautiful video as always.
Pops would make an amazing narrator for some audiobooks.
Watching this a second time in life! I watched today July 4, 2024 and appreciate these virtual hikes tremendously! My age does not allow me to do these and I love the hike paths vegetation and shaded rocky paths
This is perfection. Really into it. Thank you so much for making it! : )
No offense, Josh, but Pops makes for a wonderful narrator. You need to hire him.
haha I agree!
Love your travels also love the comments from your father on your your trip very nice great photos as always
It looks beautiful. A drive down there is now on the bucket list
Your videos are always topnotch. This one is no exception. I love your style, your delivery, the info you impart, and your visuals. You and your Dad make an awesome pair.

Great video!! Makes us miss Matts home!! 🥰

That is awesome you live close! We loved the area and I can't wait to share our full road trip video!
Move in Richmond or Portsmouth, very populated and east acces of all your needs and not to drive as far in the winter.
Pops is such a great narrator!
I agree, he did really great!

Really enjoyed this highlight video especially since I hope to be driving the Parkway this autumn to enjoy the fall colors as well. Thanks!
I was so pleased you featured Crabtree Falls. They're magical tucked away like they are. We hiked to them on a 96° day, took our shoes off, and soaked our feet in the cold water while taking in the falls. So peaceful and beautiful.
Another great video! Mr. Lens should help out with the narration more often.

Love pop’s commentary. Great to hear your favourite spots.

I enjoyed your video. I live in Little Switzerland. I am now anxious to ride up the road and see more of the pkwy.
Thank you for sharing.

Thanks to and your Dad for sharing these gorgeous scenery. Love it.
I enjoyed this Blue ridge parkway trip! Stunning! Thank you! ❤
I love you and your Dad's style. ❤❤
Thanks for the great video! It was great to have you both in the video. Looking forward to the full video :-) Thanks again!!!
Awesome I've lived in North Carolina for 5 years and this is one of my favorite drives not just for the region but in the United States as a whole
Agreed, it is such a special place!

One of my favorites! I’ve been there and was very hungry! Nowhere to eat! lol.
Everyone loves the Blue Ridge Mountains in the fall, but I prefer to be there around late April when the Rhododendrons are in bloom. The smell is fabulous.
My Great Aunt Nancy took me and my grandma before she passes in 2021. I miss my Great Aunt
The fireflies were so cool to see. I remember them when I was a little kid growing up in Indiana.
❤️ Your channel.
You do such an excellent job putting your videos together.

Found this at the right time, helped so much, been down a little but plan on doing the entire trip this summer, I didn’t see your ebook !
This video is the best!! Thank you!
Great footage!! Beautiful scenery.

Great job guys!
Man I love it out there we try to go twice a year
Outstanding 👍🏞️
Go Pops!

When we had to detour off the road we saw so many Christmas tree farms, it was overwhelming how many there were haha
Another great video !
Awesome video. Very beautiful views. Everyone should do the same route. Thanks men.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Great clips.
Congrats on the new video! But, check out the Pacifica cam, awesome day.
Pops voice-over unlocked!!
😂
This a great video!
That Pops narration tho. (needs more Illini :) )
haha!
Really appreciate you taking the time to make these videos packed with info. We’re from South FL and will be using then to visit next year in June. Would you say is better to wait till the fall? I best the tricolor scenery is spectacular. Keep up the excellent work!
Wow. I live right on the parkway, near Mayberry Mill and have still never seen most of what’s on this video
Haven't seen that many fireflies since I was a kid. Can you pinpoint what time of year? "Third week in June" or whatever?
Good video.
We call them Lightning Bugs out here :)
So when are we going to have that picnic?
Thanks for the video it is a great help. I'm planning on driving part of the Blue Ridge Parkway and would like to know where these stops are along the way. Is there someway to find out what milepost some of these places are at? Pops is terrific!! You guys make some great videos!
Pops is taking over .lol
Thank you so much for this great, informative video! I'm from Switzerland, and planning to go on a solo-trip from New York to Nashville by car. Would you recommend the trail for a solo-traveller? thanks again and keep up the good work!
Wow Dad's narrating! He has a voice that makes me want to get out my hammer and toolbox and build a house.😀 Good job!
There you go dad!
Awesome video as always. What month did you go on this trip? Everything still looks VERY green.
Also can you walk over the Natural Bridge? lol
Yer making me homesick!!! P.S. Linn Cove Viaduct is 1243 feet in length, not twelve thousand...
Thanks for the fix, can't believe I misspoke that since I spent so much time exploring it haha
I want to ride the parkway on my motorcycle this spring. I'm assuming it's paved the whole way
in nc they are called lightening bugs 🙂
Hi! I will do this roadtrip in only 2 days! Do you believe that we could do half of you showed in this video?
