Tate had a unique tone, style and FEEL. Everything can be duplicated but feel. Todd can't ever replace Tate I think Todd is a decent metal singer. Not bad not great. He gets the job done But Tate owns the company.🌟
There just aren't too many singers out there that wouldn't struggle on this one. He was just too good and set the bar way high. To sing this and 15-20 songs in one set at his level is just hard, but Geoff was the best. I just think people are way too critical now because youtube is here to dissect everything over and over.
You're kidding, right? Geoff sounds amazing here, considering the song was recorded almost TWENTY years earlier. If you expected him to sound like that, you're fuckin crazy.
dunno wy that guy said he sounds like ass, I mean yeah he skips the intro high scream and he doesnt do the "Souls screaming out in PAIN" scream... But he hit all the correct notes when he needed to and he sounded overall pretty great considering at this point in his career (and onward) he did not sing with this much head resonance and he started straining alot on notes that used to be piss easy for him before he got lazy and stopped training his voice
As a QR fan i ll tell you thiS and try to keep it just for the record!Tate back then and i mean the 80s was number one singer on the field!his perfomance at tokyo still is the best ever on in the field of metal! His live perfomance was better from studio recording as if you hear the warning album and its live execution you ll easily be impressed from the difference!By the time of the operation livecrime Tate had already lost some of his vocal range and it went downhill from there!Personally i ll find his last great perfomance at "anybody listening" track from empire!A track they never played live when he was to the band for obvious reasons!I really hope he and de garmo would make peace as they both are QR very soul....but its impossible and pretty clear this aint gonna happen! After all the years passed!
He doesnt play these songs anymore because they're irrelevant to him at this time in his life. Get your facts straight. Its not because he "cant" do it, its because he doesnt want to and he's earned that right not to play them. They've already done a OMC and Rage for Order/hits show so just leave it alone.
I would have said he can't do it anymore too, until he proved me wrong here in 2018. He's hitting Eb5 all over the place again. Kind of shocking for a fat 59 year old lol. Just wish he wasn't so lazy overall. He can still do it.

And this year (2022) he brought this song back to the stage. Out of a sudden
Todd cant touch that period...the best
Yeah but he's better than Geoff is currently... This was my first Queensryche show. Iron Maiden/Queensryche/Halford at MSG. I'll never forget it!!!
I agree
Todd will never be as good as Geoff. Geoffs older than Todd anyways so of course Todd can hit notes ( but from what I've heard not that great).
+Mantus Exx Vapes (The honest vaper) - Age doesn't play as big of a role in people's vocal range as you think.
No doubt🎶🌟🌟🌟🌟
I think Geoff sounds great. He hit all the high notes and was on key. How can you say he sounds like ass???

Damn Theokal, you have the greatest Queensrÿche bootleg collection in the world.

dunnoe what everyone is losing their mind over... he sounds good
The vocals are damn good...
Scott, you left out all the double bass action in this song and cheesed it with a one foot. What the hell
I was there. Opened for Maiden
todd let me introduce you to your father

They performed "Anybody Listening?" live during the Empire tour, the most well-known performance of this song is the MTV Unplugged Session (1992).
I totally agree.
damn, he's struggling with this one, even though it's tuned down half-a-step

Thats BS!!! If he could hit the notes and his fans request it, he would sing it. Why does he play all his songs at a lower range now?
Yeah right. The whole immature lyrics thing was bullshit. Tate just wasn't able to sing like he did on Warning and Rage from the mid 90s on.

@@jeffreydhill he is doing it now and he sounds really good
***** What do you think of this? :P
1:11 was surprising!
2005>2000
Here his sustains are kinda weak, plus he forgets the lyrics
***** It was actually the first performance of the song since '89, so I'd say he did quite good
Simon Christensen
not thats not true. They played this once before 2000. I was at the show when they did.
I dont think it was any way near as bad as if he would try now.I expected worse.this was prob the last tour they performed this song.
William Wren they did it last time with Geoff in 2005, and do now with Todd since 2012
too slow
