Saw them with Halford (opening band) and Iron Maiden (headliner band) in 2000 here in Phoenix! It was an awesome concert and the first time I saw all those bands!
One of the best concerts I've seen is the Promised Land tour, original members. Went with the band I was in at the time. We were close enough where I could throw a demo tape on stage. Chris picked it up. Would be cool if he listened to it. I miss the original lineup. oh well.
That sounded good. But when Geoff hit those high notes, he didn't have to strain and bend over to hit. He stood straight up and sang it. Sometimes he moved with the music when he hit thise notes but it came naturally to him.
Tate said in an interview one time he knew he had the pipes (vocal chords, range, etc) to sing. He took vocal instructions from Maestro David Kyle in West Seattle. Maestro Kyle was famous in his own right having voice coached many, many entertainers. My ex wife took lessons from him for a while and was shocked at the number of pictures of famous celebrities that plastered a wall in Kyle's house....Geoff Tate's voice was really something in his prime years. Err, the EP came out in 1983, not 88. 88 was the year they released the greatest Progressive Metal album of all time, Operation Mindcrime. 1988 was an incredible year.

I saw this great band opening for Kiss in 1985!!! 😂😂😂😂 lol it was such an awesome show at the great Western Frum of Los Angeles...the good old days indeed!
Some other old time big bands that are still rocking play this cruise! Saxon has been on it. I could care less if they aren't playing stadiums any more. They are my kind of music and I'd be happy to go on a cruise full of the bands I used to(and still do) listen to. You would be that more up close and personal!
Saw them a few years ago in Tampa at the ice palace, they opened up for the Scorpions, I was skeptical, but they kicked much ass!, but with that being said ?, would I pay to see them on a boat?, definitely not!
Between cruise gigs like this, and playing theaters with less than a thousand seats, I think it's time for both camps to admit that they need each other. And as soon as they figure that out, they need to get DeGarmo involved too. They dont just need players who can play the songs. They need the players who created the songs. Until then, I'll just keep listening to the records that made me love this band in the first place. Hoping they'll all come to their senses....even if it's just for 90 minutes a night. Roger and Pete do it. Axl and Slash do it. Ian and Billy do it. David Lee and Eddie did it. Queensryche can do it too.
Lots of hate for these guys. But, shit happens, members leave, and members push on. Todd is absolutely a fantastic singer, guitarist, and drummer. I saw them with Priest a couple of years ago and they were superb!!! A fan back then and a fan now!!!
So Scott's not in the band either, just Wilton & Jackson....this is far from Queensryche. He can sing high, but many people can. Tate had a distinctive "timber" to his voice & took lessons from that teacher in Seattle (forget his name). Tate was on a whole nuther stratosphere.
This is nothing more than a Queensrÿche cover band. Not Geoff Tate! You can't replace these types of singers. Not everyone can do that and still be successful. Awesome! Can't wait to see them again with Armored Saint!
Wasn’t it CHRIS the original lead guitarist for this band back in the day?
I agree. The ‘Rÿche isn’t what it used to be. No Geoff, no Scott and obviously no Chris. Just look at Michael and Eddie, they look absolutely bored. Maybe it’s time to call it a day.
The tater tot must be pissed he is no longer the vest in the business at hitting those high notes but Todd does it just fine.
You ok sweetie?
But he can and does..just saw him in Feb and he hit every one of them. This is now and Iron Maiden clone act
Geoff can still sing well

So good to see Stoney back with the boys.
I met him once in Spokane Washington and he was a jerk!!
It happens.@@mikelambert8324
Of we miss the OG but they are pretty good. I’m glad at least Mike Stone is back on guitar. I saw the Tate version and it was great. I would love to see a reunion.
I’m a purist but I have to say that was pretty good
DeGarmo Tate desperately needed Rock2
Ok , that guy's amazing ...
that was amazing! sounded just like years ago. wow!!
He’s not Geoff Tate, but he did way better than I was expecting. Not bad.
Thats not my father's Queensryche.
That Ryche is dead and gone.
Queensryche still rocking w/o Geoff.
Did Todd quit smoking or something? His voice sounds noticeably stronger of late.
Saw Queensryche when they opened for Dio, Holy Diver tour, they had only a 4 song EP out at the time.
Saw them next touring the new Operation Mindcrime album.
This ain't them !!
If only Vince Neil could maintain 50% of his voice like this. 😢
surprisingly good performance
Why are they not wearing board shorts and hawaiian shirts???
It's not Queensryche without Geoff Tate.
damn.. this old dude can belt the F out of this.....
O my God!! Do I look THAT OLD 😮
I am convinced once again that the way for me to sing this song or anything Todd does is one octave lower [-(
Ok...no one is ever gonna truly replace Tate....but....damn Todd nailed the hell out of this.
If Judas Priest and Iron Maiden had a baby, they would be it
Casey is awesome
