Q Acoustics 3020i Review Revisited.

- Revisiting a review of the Q Acoustics 3020i. My overall opinion hasn't changed. I love them. But I did get something wrong. My first outing with Q Acoustics was the 3050i, the largest speaker in the new improved 3000i family. I was so bowled over by its performance that I was curious about how the other speakers in the range fared. Q Acoustics sent along the 3020i finished in Arctic White, the other available finishes are; Carbon Black, Graphite Grey, and Walnut.

I have had these for a couple of years in the lounge but replaced them with a pair of bowers & Wilkins s2 silver anniversaries which I love. BUT I couldn't bear to part with the Q acoustic 3020i speakers so I set them up in the bedroom & still get pleasure listening to them. I am 66 & they are one of the best pair I have ever owned after possessing about 10 pairs since the age of 16. A pair roughly every 5 years first being missions 720i floor standers.

The threaded inserts on the bottom of the speaker are for the 27" stands sold by Q Acoustics to which the speaker can be attached.

I think a subwoofer would benefit your setup in a big way, especially because they are slightly smaller speakers, and you have them up against the wall.

I believe that screw at the bottom is for the proprietary stands.
I've owned a few different speakers in this price range Klipsch R-40 (flat & tonal) Mission Lx2 (average & bright) Elac B5 (decent but boomy) Dali Spektor2 (flat very vocal heavy) in the end I purchased another set of the Q 3020i My second set there just a great all round package for all gere's of music and in my opinion better built than the others. My last set cost me £170 in a sale there a real bargain here in the UK.
I love the 3020i’s. So easy to live with
i got the whole set up to do a dolby atmos room...
i tried the smallest speakers and didnt want to listen to anything else for a week. then i put the towers on and although a find the sound not as dynamic, the scale and bass feel is superb... i still havent set up the dolby atmos because im enjoying the pairs so much..

I do love that fact these are so cheap in the UK. $240. Getting these as a desk top possibly and the 3030i ($316) for the living room for TV and music listening.

Hi, im in the mood to purchase a set of this speakers for my office, to listen at around 5 feet from them. In your opinion they are a good speaker for that?

Oh, its pretty close. I would say the 3020i is a better speaker, tighter overall. But also this might be amp dependent.
@@0102studio thank you for your quick response. Means a lot to me. In India the prices for 3020 is 30000 INR , 3020i is 35000 INR and M20 is 30000 INR. Is it better go for M20 as it has inbuilt amp? In India I won’t be able to do side by side comparisons as these are very rare. I need your help to understand whether M20 sounds similar to 3020 or 3020i if connected with same audio source?
@@135raghu hey! If you don’t already have an amplifier then go for the M20. They are very close in sound.

Are these better than the 3030i with a subwoofer?
Do you mean 3020i with sub vs 3030i without a sub?

Ah, well that depends on what you’re looking for. Horrible answer I know. But if you have a medium to large room and want a bigger soundstage then 3030i. Smaller room 3020i. A sub will help either speaker reach down low. Personally, as a bass head with a larger room I prefer the 3030i’s.
