People’s thoughts on their latest album “Magnifique”? Personally, not what I was expecting and was hoping it would stick with the same multi instrumental sound. Don’t get me wrong, these guys are TALENTED. But that album just didn’t really impress me. Anybody else?
I think there are some good pinnacle songs from Magnifique such as Nightclub Amnesia, Pricks of Brightness, Cream on Chrome and Supreme. Personally I really loved how funky is Nightclub Amnesia. It's not exactly a song that easy to dance, but it was very catchy.
The same thing happens to ratatat as to JUSTICE. His albums are quite different from each other (especially justice) but speaking of ratatat, if you notice quite drastic changes. It's not the same to listen Bustelo to ALPS, in the same way that shempi is very different to i Will return All their albums are excellent in my opinion, very few songs leave me dry. But I can understand that it causes a clash of opinions for other fans.For me it's a solid 8.5
