  • Stabilize Fuel, Winterize Fuel, Fuel Storage, using fuel stabilizer, store fuel longer, gas stabilizer.
    One of the major parts in winterizing your motorcycle is to add a fuel stabilizer to your fuel tank.
    Fuel stabilizer bonds with gasoline to prevent evaporation.
    This procedure will work for any gas powered machine you are storing for a long period of time or winterizing.
    I’ll be using STA-BIL Fuel Stabilizer. I’ve been using this for the last few years and it has been working well for me.
    It doesn't take a lot to treat the entire fuel supply and protect the carburetors or fuel-injection system. Any more than what is recommend you will dilute the gasoline so much you're likely to get detonation and a loss of power.
    Make sure you are adding the fuel stabilizer to a fresh tank of gas.
    Make sure to let your engine run for a minimum of 5min to let the stabilizer cycle through the whole fuel system.

    hi great video. question, can I ride the bike instead of just running it for 5 min to circulate the stabilizer?

    Is this only good use for storing bike during winter? Or could it be used for every fill of gas?

    • @AdventureTomek
      @AdventureTomek  2 года назад +3

      You can use it anytime of year, if your not using the fuel for longer periods of time then I recommend it

      STA-BIL Storage can be used year-round for storage but if you are looking for an everyday fuel treatment, we would recommend our STA-BIL 360 Protection. This has ethanol protection and is a PEA fuel system cleaner that will clean out any gum and varnish and also protect the system from future buildup. Also, it stabilizes the fuel. Hope this helps!

    Quick question I did not use the fuel stabilizer prior to storing my bike for winter. Can I add it to the fresh fuel after storage would it have the same effects?

    • @AdventureTomek
      @AdventureTomek  Год назад

      If you put fresh fuel in and are going to run it, you should not need anything. If you did not add stabilizer, there is a product called “Heet” that you can add that will bond to the separated water and make the fuel good to go. If you have a Fuel Injected bike, you have less issues. If you have a carbureted bike, you may need to drain the fuel bowl and possible clean the pilot jet.

    Does it have to be fresh fuel?
    My tank is just 2 bars down. I don't want to take it out to the gas station. But I do have a gas can that has gas for it but I don't know how long it's been in there. Can I just use the gas in the can?

      You have to use fresh fuel ⛽️

      But how fresh is fresh fuel? I understand filling it up hours before adding is preferred but would 2-4 day old gas still be considered fresh? I think I filled up last time just shy of a week ago. Would that now be stale? It’s too cold to ride that gas off and I’m going to be riding with-in 2-3 months again.

      You can unscrew the small cap so when you press the bottle the fluid will flow easily into the measure portion

      Same thing, just get the proportions correct.
