Takes me back to my scooter days, all nighters/weekenders, some of the best days of my life & still the best music ever!!!! Life wouldn’t be the same without Northern Soul… Bloody pity my body hasn’t kept up with my mind and soul..
Northern soul dancers just seem so lively. When i first saw northern soul dancers, I was torn between wanting to laugh, and wanting to stand transfixed by the graceful hypnotic movements, and obvious skill.😊😍🤩
Northern soul is about taking the basic steps and adding your individual moves to the music it's about enjoying yourself in your own space to great music well done young lady keep the faith
OMG! 40 year's of memories in under 3 mins. I don't care if the tune matches the dance steps - this reminds me of the sheer joy of the moment. Thanks for uploading - made my night...
I love it! I don't care what era it's from. It's carefree, it looks cool, and they are enjoying themselves. Do what makes you feel happy. Life is too short to be up tight.
Glad you like northern soul we love it over here in the UK it's even popular among our younger generation too the dance moves born in the North of England but the music from the USA welcome to our culture of Northern soul 🇬🇧❤️🇺🇸💃🕺👭👬👫✌️ keep the faith love from your soul sister
@@carolrunham1362 Soul sister, this is great inspiration for Boomers everywhere. Thank you UK for so much entertainment from the Beatles to Northern soul!
The WHOLE UK needs to learn to listen to THE MUSIC THAT LIFTS YOUR SOUL! after this lockdown ends there should be a NATIONWIDE Northern Soul 24 hour dance.... PLUS. PUT BACK WIGAN CASINO! 😕 It should never have been destroyed KEEP THE FAITH BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE! This music helps me survive im ancient now but used to dance till i dropped! 🤪
Wigan casino was shite, all the "new age soulies" that missed out first time always talk about Wigan even tho they never went, ask em what it was like inside and they dont know, I always remember hearing a guy talking at Cleethorpes and he said "Wigan was a creche where the proper soulies sent their kids whilst they went to proper ,better venues
Can't understand any one slagging off some thing different to there own choice I grew up listening to bolan t Rex sweet Alex harvey deep purple &then found joy division every one to there own choice it's what makes us all happy in our own genre's good to see people enjoying music
I'm an oldskool raver (90s dance music) and I must admit a lot of our dance moves are borrowed heavily from Northern Soul dancers, with a lot more energy used obviously, nice to see where it comes from, nice happy vibe in this music and the people are definitely loving it, we owe it to you!
You say a lot more energy you should watch some of the classic nights at the Casino that are available on youtube they put in a lot more effort if the track is faster. I do know what you mean I was a hardcore raver too. As long as you mean dedicated and are not referring to actual hardcore cos I weren't really into that. I started raving in 1988 but I carried on all through the 90's only slowing down about a decade ago at the end of the noughties. Before I got into Balearic and House in the late 1080's I was a Northern Soulie and into all nighters and the like. The love of the music has never left me.
That's good i went to one last year in December in Cambridgeshire wish i had gone to one February before the first Lockdown hopefully we can start getting back to dancing again miss it so much and the music too keep the faith💃🕺👭👬👫🎶
One of the tracks off the D-Town Soul Club souvenir cassette I still have from the days of that club that met at the very short-lived Coliseum pub in Derby back in the Nineties and one of my favourites. It would have been playing quite regularly on my personal cassette - remember them!? - on the train journeys I made in the summer of 1996 during doing the research work for my Final-Year University of Derby project - a comparison of the public transport system in and around Derby with those in and around three cities in Germany of a similar population, in my case, Aachen, Hagen and Krefeld - while I was a mature, part-time undergraduate there. Thanks for the memories, Rod! Strangely, it was a 'Rod' (Pearson) who was my Transport Geography lecturer and you'll see him mentioned at an album at my 'The Curves Man' Flickr in conjunction with a field trip to Brussels in late 1996, that Flickr being amongst the media buttons on my RUclips profile.
A few years back I was at a disco and the DJ stopped the record and asked someone on the dance floor doing this northern soul dancing what music they were dancing to as it certainly wasn't the record he was playing
All you cool cats slagging these harmless happy people off for having a good time .lets see some video of you on the dance floor....... no .didnt think so .Grow up you fools.
personally i dont dance, well apart from the smoochy shit but i never stop my wife having fun, even dancing with other men-its only dancing and shes having fun-i am happy to stand at the bar and watch free in the fact that shes leaving with me,happy and drama free, win win
Thank you Great Britain for keeping this music going. And sending so much good music to the world, 1960s to 80s. The Beatles, Stones, etc. revitalized music. So glad to have lived at this time. The Stones at the TAMI show 1964 shows the American reaction, on RUclips.
Northern soul is boss, they used to hold big events at the beachcomber local to me back in the day. I have to go back to the 50s to find my rhythm though.
